  1. Mucho, I think you are horribly confused.

Working on commission has been the best thing for me. Also if you're a trader, arn't you on "bonuses" aka "commission"?

I've never heard of a salaried trader, maybe a small base salary of 100k range + bonus. I have friends that are successful traders and they are making 7 figure commissions.

The generalization of "brokers" tell me you're not a trader/professional or never have ran a business in your life.

    Why?

Professionals never underestimate the hard work/knowledge that goes into running a succesful practice, and here you are generalizing all brokers without having no knowledge.

Let me give you a lesson, investing is all about theories that back them up. You can be technical (which you should know alot about since you are a trader), fundamental (non ratio related analysis).

You can follow the traditional MPT, or EMT depending on what kind of "trader" or "broker" you are, but of course you wouldn't know anything about that because your empty post clearly states that you are not a

    professional trader.

  2. My opinion of investment brokers is that if they new anything about an investment opportunity, then they wouldn't be a broker. They would be investors instead. Investment brokers tend to stick with what they think are sure thing investments ( we know how that worked out in the stock market ), unfortunately there are know sure thing investments. Having success at being a trader or investor takes risk and a gut feeling based on information that one gathers, and nothing or noone can deter that feeling. Brokers do not have any feel whatsoever. They are 8 - 5, and work on commission. There are probably half a million or more people that invested in the dinar, but look how many will miss this once in a lifetime opportunity. Too bad for them! Think about this, if anyone new for certainty the high or low of any commodity this year, they would be wealthier than their wildest dream. It's all speculation, but the best commodity is the one that is closest to zero in worth, because it only has one way to go, UP! We as dinar investors are solid, because the dinar is virtually worthless right now. We are very fortunate to be in on this!

You clearly do not know anything about being a broker.

    1. 99% of Investment brokers are investors themselves.

    2. My clients in 2008 were in positive returns as my strategy is mostly in fixed-income. Please do not generalize investment brokers who deal solely with the stock market.

    3. Investing on "feeling" like you stated, will make you lose money. Ever heard of "odd-lot theory?"

    4. Brokers are not 8-5, I come in and go as I please. We do not work on 9-5 as we are 100% purely on comission and trails.

    5. This "can" be a lifetime opportunity or "cannot" be. How do you know for sure this will work?

    6. Investing in commodities is extremely complex and volatile. It's not as simple as looking at prices of corn and wheat.

    7. Please stop giving advice to everyone that Dinar is a solid investment. You have no knowledge, proof, or any evidence that it's a "solid" investment.

  3. For clarification, I never said the dinar is a scam. Anybody who truley thinks it is, wouldn't even bother to logon to this site. I was referring to the hidden manipulation of markets and events that marcuscurtis has exposed in his Rabbit Hole posts. In order for us pawns to prosper, we have to either be in the right place at the right time or at least avoid being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

According to Webster, you are correct about the relationship between risk and speculation. I'm just asserting that there isn't enough data to calculate anything. This is the reason brokers laugh when asked about the dinar. Oh, they've all heard about it and since they can't wrap their brains around a formula to pitch the dinar to "traditional" investors, then it must be a joke.

I wasn't disagreeing with you, I agree with you that it's not a scam.

Becoming a millionaire overnight might be a stretch, but I'm type of person who does not expect much (which is really a double edge knife).

Advisers do not pitch dinar because we can be sued, and some advisers simply do not know like you stated.

I would assume it's very easy to pitch dinar, all you have to do is pitch "greed" and most people will eat it up.

  4. Investment brokers are all about calculated risks not speculation. If you can't attach an algorithm to it, then it's not legitimate.

Although, I will say that after everything that has exposed on this site, I think most things are a "scam". By that, I mean there's always somebody behind the scence pulling strings.

Calculated risk IS speculation, just managed speculation.

This investment is certainly NOT A SCAM. IMHO, the likely hood of waking up as a millionaire is extremely slim.

I would advise everyone not to place all of your eggs into "dinar basket". There are people on this site who claims they cannot pay bills if dinar doesn't RV at $3.00 +

I would advise paying your bills first before investing into a dream.

    But that's just me.

  5. Never understood why everybody talks about this not being a get rich quick scenario. Quite frankly, it is going to be a get rich quick scenario for a handful of people. But, I don't think you have to tell the folks that have had Dinars since 2004 that this is not going to happen overnight. JMO

7 year wait is hardly a long wait for a $2000 investment turning into 6 million dollars if it were to RV at $3.00

Sounds like a get rich quick scenario for everybody. When's the last time you invested a few thousand dollars and turned into millions over 7 years? 10 years? 15 years?

IF this were to happen it will be a miracle, and yes it will be a get rich quick for EVERYONE.

  6. This is the internet, people will say anything because there are no consequences to their actions.

There are also severely sensitive people on this board who will take a simple question as an insult, rude, and etc.

    It's both parties at fault.

Simple solution...The bashers should measure other's sensitivity prior to posting and everyone should stop taking everything personally.

    Problem solved.

  7. Interesting point.

Slay, I must mention though, that it is no one's fault that he lost 90% of his 401k. He should have known his asset allocation in his retirement and how they were performing.

I believe they send out statements atleast quarterly.

Him cashing out his 401k in panic-mode is exactly why investors lose money and never gain back. Making such decision based on emotion is sure road to failure.

I too, lost over 20% of my portfolio. 20% during 2008 wasn't so bad...but I did my homework and was well diversified. And now, I'm well above 20% of my portfolio just from last year.

    You know what I did?

I held onto my portfolio, shifted some assets around, and bought even more when Dow hit 6000. It's all about not letting your emotion get in the way, and having a disciplinary approach.

Had he held onto his shares, his account would have recovered and most likely in the positive earnings. Had he done his homework, he wouldn't have been overweight in

a certain sector, and would have been more diversified.

No one can predict the market, and even today the odd-lot theory still holds water for many investors. Odd lot theory is "buying high and selling low".

Over 80% of investors make this mistake because panic runs deep when markets start to tank.

It's much easier to hedge earlier and keep a moderate to balanced portfolio at all times. Do not try to time the market to win, you WILL LOSE.

And if you're skeptical, stick to key municipals like sewer, school districts, parks, and stay away from Revenue Muni unless it's an essential one.

You can make great money in the market, however you do need patience, and resilience.

  8. I have not seen many use of bad words directly toward each other.

IMHO this board is more sensitive than others from my own personal experience.

Some people cannot handle open discussion, criticism, differing opinions without taking it personally or receiving it as an attack.

I thought we were all adults here, and forums were meant for such activities.

I apologize if I come off rude to some of you, and I will try my absolute best to adjust myself to each and one of your level of sensitivity.

  9. How is this pumping? Or a blatant lie? Just tryin to share info to anyone who might want to persue it. I am an honest hard working grandfather, raising 3 adopted kids. I don't appreciate being called a blatant liar or pumper. Why don't you save those words for

    Okie?

Nobody ever said you are pumping or a blatant liar. I asked "how is this a rumor again?" because your post did not seem like a rumor.

Is it neccessary to mention you are an honest working grandfather raising 3 kids? I'm sure that you are, but nobody was attacking your character, nor even mentioned it...just chill out.

I see some people on this forum who take things way too personally and you're only hurting yourself. If it upsets you to be questioned and challenged, then why are you here??

Isn't a forum a place where we can learn, debate, challenge, and share each other thoughts?

  10. I agree with the banker you spoke with, RV is ways off. He obviously has alot of common sense, and the man speaks the truth.

The only sentence I would disagree is "He's been in investment banking for a long time"

Premier bankers in Wells Fargo are retail bankers (personal banker/customer service rep), who deals with clients that have over 250k in liquid cash. I know because I'm in the securities industry myself.

Investment bankers are underwriters, they help raise money bringing in a new issue to the public for a corporation or a municipality. Two totally different animals.

Otherwise, a great post Mr. Rich, your friend is a smart guy with a lot of common sense.

  11. I wanted to share my opinion, as I have worked in banking prior to my current career. I hope not to offend anyone, as this is from my own personal experience in banking for 7 years.

Banks are completely clueless when it comes to information of this magnitude.

I used to work at a major bank as a Relationship Manager and I'll tell you the following facts.

    1. VP, is commonly used. My branch manager was a VP and he does not even have a college degree. I was a VP and it did not mean anything but for marketing purpose to clients.

    2. Tellers, Bankers, and Branch managers are BRANCH employees, which means retail. Retail as in Walmart, Mcdonalds, and other retail stores. There are certainly intelligent people working in retail branches, but 99% of the time they do not even know their own restriction in their own checking accounts, debit cards, credit cards they are soliciting. Let alone the fine prints of the FDIC which is also bogus if you read it.

    3. If you do not believe me, question them about banking products and its limitation. Challenge their intelligence in investments, basic economics, their views of the market, and basic credit underwriting.

These corporate email they are receiving is likely from their district managers, or regional managers. Banking industry has a thick middle layer and they are glorified branch managers. I know this because I've dealt with a lot of middle market managers (District, Regional, and Market) and they do not know much if at all about anything that's going on. They are simply messengers of the regional presidents of the retail sector.

  12. Riverdawg: I'm just another dinar holder waiting for RV. Go RVVVV!!!!!

It will be interesting tonight to see what he has to say. I remember when he said he will have "laser like focus" on our economy, shut down GITMO, open government, bla bla and so far, he has accomplished nothing but going on vacations.

He's in campaign mode now, so he will over-promise and under-deliver again.
