  1. Thanks Mt. Goat for all the work you put into these articles...Again there will always a bunch of loose mouthed people trying to stir the pot because that's what they do. It makes them happy but I feel sorry for them because that's all they got. There is more in your corner than not.
  2. If you are reading this then the good lord has seen fit to allow you to live another year to experience another Valentines Day......Happy Valentines Day to all my friends and members on DV. We have ridden this journey together for years and I will ride it until it either RV's or my life here is finished, what lies ahead will come to pass and only God knows....either way to god be the glory.......Happy Valentines Day family.....Heavyduty053
  3. I got a beautiful story of kindness coming next week that will melt your heart......better drag up some tissues.
  4. Thank you for appreciating these stories enough to leave a note. I have been doing this for years now and as the same always I hope that I leave a smile of encouragement, hope and peace for those who are going through difficult times or just need a little lift for their day. May the good lord bless your day and show you the way. Amen
  5. I have had one good day today so far. It started out with a morning walk with my dogs under the starlight before dawn. It was so beautiful. Quiet and looking up I thanked God for the stars, the earth and my life. After the walk it was time for a warm breakfast followed by exercises and then prayer time. The I headed out to the office. The sun was out and glistened off the melting snow. The sight made me smile and since I was alone with nobody else's ears to offend I sang along with the CD playing in my car with a loud voice and a happy heart. My good day was just beginning, however, I helped it along by giving a cheerful greeting to everyone I met. I shared smiles and was happy to have them returned. I offered a helping hand to one friend and a pat on the back to another for job well done. Later at the store I opened the door for a lady who had her arms full of packages. I bought a few boxes of pancake mix to put in the food drive collection ben. I told a tired cashier what a good job she was doing and watched her whole face light up. When I got home I gave my dogs a pat on their heads, made sure the plants had water, cleaned up the kitchen before sitting down to do some computer work. I answered my emails sharing the good word and that God loves them, send some encouraging words to the ones who needed it from around the country. Later in the day I sit down with a good book. Finally I ended my day the same way I started it, walking my dogs and thanking God that he allowed me to complete the day and asking him for a good nights sleep and another day tomorrow to share his kind words of love. Perhaps the key to living a great life for ourselves is being grateful for what God allowed us to have, sharing his kind words . Perhaps the key to being happy is to make sure God knows you are thankful for what he blessed you with. God will give us the tools to build a good day should we want to use them but most leave theirs behind....have a blessed great day and I hope that you will take something from this and make yourself some great days........Heavyduty053
  6. Just wondering, is there any members on here from good old Ireland....I would like to talk with you if you will grant me the time to do so.
  7. I thought this was a pretty good story
  8. The story goes that some time ago, a man punished his 3 year old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper. Money was tight and every little bit squeezed out of everything helped a little. to get by. Dad became infuriated when his child tried to decorate a box to put under the Christmas tree. Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift to her father the next morning and said, "This is for you, Daddy." He was embarrassed by his earlier overreaction, but his anger flared again when he opened the box and it was empty. He yelled at her, "Don't you know that when you give someone a present, there's supposed to something, anything inside of it?. The little girl was silent and then she looked up at her dad with big old tears on her cheeks and said, "Its not empty dad, look again, I blew kisses into the box, all just for you. Her father was so crushed that he had to look away for what he done to his little girl, trying to be so sincere. She gave him the only thing she could afford and it should have meant the world to him. He regained his composure and put his arms around his little girl and he begged her forgiveness. It is also told that he kept that gold box by his bed for years and looked at it every night before closing his eyes and thanking god for how blessed he was to have such a thoughtful little girl full of love for her daddy and he would take out an imaginary kiss every night before going to sleep. In a very real sense, each of us as humans have been given a gold container filled unconditional love and kisses from our children, friends, family and most of all God. There is not precious possession anyone could have more than this.
  9. Mnt Goat you put in all in common language where we can understand it....Thanks for what you do my friend.....Heavyduty053
  10. One of the verses taught in Sunday School was, you can be sure your sins will find you out, but in this story it doesn't mean so much to a little girl, besides little means little mind, unless she learns by experience. When this verse was assigned to little Debbie she said it over and over because she knew that the next Sunday she would have to repeat it to her class. She did just that even though sometimes she had no idea what it really meant, but she knew it was good, it had to be coming from the Bible. She was really puzzled over this one. How can Sin find you out, maybe I will ask Mama to explain it a little more. She wouldn't laugh at me for asking. If I asked my older sisters they might laugh just for the fun of it. But the week went by and she forgot all about asking her Mom about it. "No school today, I got the whole day to play, of course it was Saturday. It was May and the summer weather was warm and beautiful. Dad had already been preparing the garden for our vegetables to grow. The thoughts about playing turned into work as Dad ask me to help him and Mom do some planting after breakfast. Her heart just sank. Dad's idea of planting would seem like all day. There was potatoes and then corn to plant. The potatoes were fun because dad would use a hoe lay out a straight line and Debbie and her sisters would follow dropping three cut potatoes into each carefully spaced hole. Corn was not so bad either, just drop a kernel to be covered up. It went on like this for what seemed like all day but wasn't. Debbie would look into the can ever once and a while to see how many kernels was left. When you are seven years old you vision running through the field of buttercups and walking along the little creek listening to the frogs, or climbing trees looking out over the world but here we were that dreaded day once a year planting our seeds for food. To young to understand all about what it took for the ground provide food for our family. So here she was thinking she would be better off exploring than dropping stupid corn kernels in the ground. Debbie looked into the can again and after planting most of the kernels she still had a bunch. Dad just went to the house for something and she looked out over the gate into the pasture she called our playground, then she looked again at the corn. A thought just popped in her little brain that with dad gone he would never know that she didn't use up all the corn kernels. She took off for the garden shed and once behind it, she dug a hole emptied the can into the hole, looking around to make sure no one saw her covered the hole. Now she could play. She went to Sunday school said her verse and weeks went by and she forgot about the corn she failed to plant and hid it behind the shed. Potatoes were coming up and the corn was about waist high and looking good and the garden was a success. One day dad happen to go out behind the shed and there he saw something that really stunned him. There was that hole with many stalks of corn coming up and they to was a waist high. When Debbie got in from school that afternoon, dad was waiting on her. "come here Debbie I want to show you something" She ran cheerfully up to him and he pointed at the incriminating evidence of her sin, then without a further word, he went back to the house. Debbie stood there staring at the patch of choking corn plants. That day she learned first hand how Sin could find you out. Debbie lives in the south where gardens were a way of life. Planting was for food and good food. When you grow up helping plant, watching the plants grow and then being able to eat what it had produced you not only learned valuable lessons but it did wonders for your character, and the care it takes to bring and keep life going. To this day verse rings in her ear "You can be sure your sins will find you out". Have a great day
  11. Wouldn't this be great since the Tax laws have changed some....maybe we could keep a little more of our money.....I hope we are at the end of this ride.
  12. It might be...they are involved in so much stuff that the skeletons may fall out one day
  13. What is hidden in the dark will come to light on day....this just might get interesting
  14. Behind the city of Colorado Springs and at the back of the U.S. Air Force Academy stands a mountain called Eagle's Peak which is popular among local hikers even people from out of town come there to follow its paths. The Scouts love it and do it often. From it's summit you can peer into the depths of the Rocky Mountains on one side or overlook the vast expanse of the Great Plains on the other. It has some of the most breath taking sites to behold. Each summer the trail leading to the peak is trod by those who've walked it's path before as well as those who make it a new experience. The inexperienced hiker is generally always told, if he cares to ask, that the hike will take all day to go up and back down. He or she is told to start early, what supplies to carry, set a strong steady pace for the journey cause some parts will slow everyone down. The inexperienced hiker who follows this advise and plans accordingly sometimes will see a false vision when looking with his own eyes from the parking lot that the hike to the summit and back will take way less than half a day and with little difficulty at even the most leisurely pace. And so one man changes his plans after the trip had began and meanders up the trail wandering frequently from the path the others was on. He takes numerous side trips and detours. He stops to rest and snack on his supplies like a picnic since he obviously won't need very much for his short trip. He goes well off the path to avoid some of the more difficult parts of the trail. When noon came he finally reached his summit only to discover that it was his eyes which had deceived him and not the words of the trail master. For now he stands on a false summit which had blocked his view of the higher summit far above. Realizing his lack of foresight, he quickly reevaluates his time and decides that if he pushes himself hard enough he can still make it to the other summit and back before it gets fully dark. And so he sets off at a frantic pace; stumbling, crashing through the brush, receiving bruises, scrapes and scratches as he watched the sun moving on across the sky toward sunset. He was really beginning to feel uneasy, how could he have been so stupid to put himself in a dangerous position like this when he could have been having fun with all the others. But be as it may he had to do what was necessary to get back on track. He could see the true summit that was hidden now that he chose to take the wrong path. In our journey through life, there are many false summit's and if you let it you will whisper in your ear to take the wrong path. Strive forward only to the goals which a proven pathway is there to take. Many take the wrong pathway away from Heaven and think that they will get there anyway. Some will and some won't. God will show you the way and he will turn the light on for you. Have a good day.
  15. I feel sorry for all the people that invested in the Bitcoin thing...It is a passing fad that only a few at the top will reap huge profits from and the rest will loose. Better check into it and do research and get out while you still got some money left.....Many will jump me for this but its my opinion....do what you want.
  16. Let me comment on this...I don't know if Mr. Trump said this or not or if the media who is just watering at the mouth to take something he says or does and twist it is false or true.......I wasn't there and neither were you guys......I would remind you it is better not to condemn a person for a act unless you know the true unless you want to be condemned yourself before almighty God......Many have sold their souls to the devil for an act to bring him down. I do know this why didn't everyone jump on this same train when Obama was in office because he supposedly pushed an agenda to usher in Islam over our Constitution and everyone was silent.....everyone needs to support this president and see what he can accomplish because from what I see he is fulfilling his promises even when having to fight everyone's opinions. Thank God this man has a strong will to rise above twisted people and twisted words....God will deal with the rest.
  17. I didn't think I would get many reactions to this message but the good lord is trying to pour out his spirit to all those who will take it. This message was not on key to what I usually bring but sometimes Gods message must be spoke and if there's one just one out there that realizes and takes it to heart then all of Heaven will rejoice.
  18. The story is told of a man named John who had once been faithful to attend his church regularly but had grown weary and finding fault with people there. the Pastor knew that he hadn't seen the gentleman in a while so he went for a visit. John opened the door and greeted the Pastor and welcomed him in, directing him to the chair beside the Rock fireplace. He asked the pastor what brought him to visit, but the pastor didn't say a word....he simply grabbed the fireplace tongs and picked up a hot coal from the fire and set it aside on the hearth. Both men then watched the coal. While the main fire roared on, the coal which had been red hot begin to loose it's heat. It gradually lost it's red color, and then cooled off so that it became cool to the touch. the Pastor picked up the coal and handed it to John for a moment still neither man said a word. Then the Pastor reached out and took the coal back from John and returned it to the fire....and in just a few short moments, the coal once again glowed red hot as the pile of flaming coals caused it to do so. The Pastor then got to his feet, put on his hat and shook John's hand. At that point John looked at the pastor with tears in his eyes and told him......I got the point, "Thank you for coming and I will be at church this coming Sunday. Now some of you reading this aren't able to attend church services on a regular basis due to health reasons or issues relating to health of a loved one. But for those who CAN attend and but don't for one reason or another, Consider this: Do you need to re-examine your reasons for not going to God's house. No excuse will hold water as far as excusing you in God's eyes. Heaven is going to be worshiping our lord 24-7 so God is getting a good picture or your life and why you choose not to attend. There are thousands of churches out there everywhere and one will be a good fit. There is just not enough excuses not to find one if you want the good lord to say upon your departure from this life, "Well done thy good and faithful servant enter into the joy of thy lord'. Now I am going to say this, there is not a human being upon this earth that wants to be condemned to eternal torment, sad but it is the holy truth. Find a church, go to that church and you will see what I mean. My prayer for you is: Father in the midst of all your creation, find the ones who are lacking and make them feel the light and love you have for all of us. Give them peace and happiness in you lord, in Jesus name Amen
  19. Then Mr Brown should be held accountable as an accessory to any crime because he allowed it to happened without consequences. the United States judicial system is broken holding some accountable for their crimes while others can laugh, repeat it and walk on. The ones elected to set it straight are pathetic.
  20. I agree Sgt .....Gods children are called that because they have a purpose and that is to help others see the light and feel the love.
  21. The little church I attended was down the mountain by a little creek and it was so peaceful during the week when no one was there then on Sunday everyone gathered praising God for their blessings of that week and just because he was good to them. Even though I was young it was the highlight of my week to gather with all my friends that I didn't get to see but on Sunday. All the folks always hung around after church to let us kids play for a bit while they sat at the wooden picnic tables and discussed plans for their monthly fellowship dinner after church. That was one of the things that made us jump up early get ready, eat breakfast with the family, boy the Red Eye Gravy with the big biscuits and yes those think slices of bacon and top it all of with a little molasses. We was ready then to load up in the old pickup truck, mom and dad in the front, kids in the back and travel down the dusty old road. The old wooden church was shabby to the eye but it somehow made your heart joyful and free when you were in there. We would sing, clap and learned to pray. As we grew up we learned what worship God meant and how he was connected to our lives. When the Sunday's came along for the monthly fellowship dinners it really excited everyone. Boy that was the days and of course fried chicken always was the favorite fried in those old iron skillets with all the vegetables and pies and a few cakes...fried apple pies was the best. All this happened under some big old Oaks and I remember it was just about as cool under there as what an Air Conditioner could do. Put all this together with about 15 to 20 kids playing and it was great. Those times will always be in my memory. We were one big happy family and when one family needed help, word was sent and many came calling ready to help....that's what a family is. Its not just about being blood kin, it about being kin in the eyes of God, that what makes everyone help everyone. If only we could return to some of the things the old days were taught and the way church use to be and let the kids be kids they would grow up to have some morals about how to treat others if you want to be treated fairly. I believe peoples lives would be changed and the chains broken to life's bad ways.......
  22. I agree...what God is behind will not be stopped and all those who try to drag it down will got down themselves
  23. A little boy and his mom and dad decided decided to try out the big church at the end of town to see if they liked it enough to start going there. When they entered the big front doors a little before time for the service to begin the little boy was amazed at all the big pictures of people on the hallway walls. The pastor happen to walk up and introduce himself to them and of course the little boy full of imagination decided to ask the pastor who they were....."Who are these people and the pastor said, these are some of our members who died in service". The little boy thought for a moment then ask, "did they die in the 9:00 service or the 11:00 service. Of course the pastor got a kick out of his amusement. TO ALL THE MEMBERS ON DINARVETS.....I WISH YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND GRANT YOU PEACE AND FORGIVENESS....... Heavyduty053
