  4. Mods, Please delete/merge this post, it is a re-post. Thanks!
  5. LINK Iraqi stock exchange sees Asiacell listing by June 04 April 2012 12:28 PM Updated : 04 Apr 2012 12:28 PM Send To Friend Print Share Font size [/url] 121.40-1.10-0.90%11:0012:00120130 Iraq's number two mobile phone operator Asiacell is expected to complete its compulsory listing on the local bourse in the first half of this year, the chiefexecutive of the Iraq Stock Exchange (ISX) said on Tuesday. With double-digit subscriber growth, telecommunications is the fastest growing sector in Iraq after oil. Listings for mobile phone companies could boost foreign interest in the stock exchange, which is dominated by banks. Asiacell, a unit of Qatar Telecommunications and its rivals, Zain Iraq and Korek, have to make initial public offerings as a condition of their $1.25 billion operating licences. All three companies missed the initial deadline for August 2011 but have said they are working towards listing. The first key step is for all three to become shareholder-owned firms. Taha Abdulsalam, the CEO of the ISX, told Reuters that Asiacell had made the most progress and he expected the company to list around June this year. "Only Asiacell has been transferred into a shareholders' company," he said in an interview. "They have sent a notice that they are working to meet all the requirements." Asiacell was not immediately available for comment. Iraq did not have a mobile phone market under Saddam Hussein and the industry has boomed since his ouster in 2003. Foreign investors were net buyers on the local bourse in 2011 and Abdulsalam said he expected foreign investment to remain high in 2012. The market capitalisation of the ISX has been steady at around $4 billion over the past year but Abdulsalam said he expected new investment as well as listings to drive that to between $6 billion and $7 billion by the end of 2012. The average volume traded per session is around $2 million now. Abdulsalam said Zain Iraq, a unit of Kuwait's Zain , had been in contact with the ISX about listing while Korek, in which France Telecom and Kuwait's Agility own stakes, had not. Zain Iraq CEO Emad Makiya declined to give details as to how far the company had progressed towards an IPO. "It's very premature, we're at a very sensitive stage right now," he told Reuters. Korek CEO Ghada Gebara said the firm had been held up because of administrative problems related to the tensions between Iraq's central government and the government in the autonomous northern Kurdish area where Korek is registered. Gebara hoped Korek would still become a shareholder-owned company by September as a step towards listing.
  6. HERE is a good link with multiple articles that helped me get some good info on Zain Iraq as well as their main competitors. Should we also be watching for these competitors stocks to be offered on the ISX?
  7. Getting things ready for Moon to show up and give it his blessing. Chapt. 7 is nearing its end for Iraq! GO RV!!!
  8. Adam, you are a genius. While other "gurus" and groups (not trying to imply that I put you in the same class as a "guru") are sending out emails asking for dinar investors private information so as to "gather" a following, you come into your highly respected website and PROVE yours. I would be willing to bet that just like the CBI has proven that they are in complete control of their currency, you will prove to any current or potential partner that you have a respectable and loyal following...by simply offering your chat one day later than normal. BRAVO my friend! I look forward to seeing your "normal chat" in the A.M. Thanks for all you do. Respectfully, MLAY901 PS GO RV!!!
  9. So is anyone else looking at this as a "window"? Holiday on a Wednesday/Thursday, holy day on Friday...just a thought! GO RV!!!
  10. If this is true, I think it would go a long way for the chapter 7 sanctions being lifted. Lets hope! Thanks for the post Firedawg! GO RV!!!!
  11. I don't know from experience because my little girl doesn't have colic, but I remember reading somewhere that a good swaddling goes a long way. Something about the baby's "4th trimester" and needing to "get out of their own way"...worth a shot anyway. Good luck!
  12. Almost like he wants things settled before the big show! GO RV!!!
  13. Ha! You don't say! So is buying IQD...welcome to this SPECULATIVE investment Also, I highly doubt AD was pointing out a revaluation, rather a clue to the possibility of further movement in the right direction. Not saying your wrong about the authority of the CBI so please don't take offense, just thought I would share my thoughts with you since your comment made me chuckle...GO RV!!!
  14. Nice find Aqua Dude! Thanks for the post.
  15. I just don't see them waiting until the end of this year. I mean anything is possible with these guys, but I don't see it. GO RV!

  19. Hey Adam, Recently a topic was closed partly because the mentioned broker wasn't able to be verified. I remember seeing in some past posts that you said you were going to give the broker a shot and would update us on how it went. Did you get anywhere with that? And if you don't mind me asking, what process do you use when you are choosing a new broker in Iraq? Teach me to fish! Thanks for all you do. MLAY901
  20. Can't tell you how disappointed I am to hear this. Please disregard the PM I sent to you. Adam, Please remove my topic that re-posted this information inadvertently. Also, might I suggest in the future when a topic containing important information needs to be closed, including at least a brief reason other than an error code. I spent some valuable time looking for this information not knowing that the reason the topic was broken was because you didn't want the information out there. Thank you. =) MLAY901
