1. It always makes me LOL when I read something about someone claiming to know something about the AC. He's like the most vague guy out there. He's like a legend, the shadow. Can't believe Breitling is actually sending out emails now claiming to know stuff about the AC. Breitlling pulling that stunt makes me doubt everything he ever claimed or said now. Some of you might view AC's post as being negative but I have never seen them that way. I'm open minded. I like to hear both sides of the risks of ALL of my investments.
2. DUDE!!!!! ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CASPER DID NOT POST THAT!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU'RE MISREADING IT! YOU'RE OFF TOPIC! CAN'T WE JUST MOVE ON NOW!!!!!!! SHEESH!!!
3. Under what basis are you referring to that information as BS? You know something everyone else doesn't know? If so, why don't you share? Proof would be good along with that. It always baffles me why people always go around crying foul & bs when something isn't what they want to here. It is what it is.
how do you spell BS... oh right like that ^^^^^ I fully agree. Thanks for being the one to mention that.
4. Mannn,...if I only had a dollar for every time one of these guys threw out a date & said "Done Deal", I wouldn't need an RV.
5. This is just the beginning of seeing these places closing. Other will follow suit very soon.
6. Amer. Contractor says it's coming; "That's all that I can disclose at this current time. The dinar currency transition period is expected to be for only 12 months. I will reveal more of what is being reported in the monetary policy reports in upcoming email newsletters" Maybe the wait has to do with the 12 month transition period Read more: That cut-off ending is the fault of the person who copied it over here. If you got the American Cont*actor email then you would have the whole thing. Not sure why they are picking & choosing what to post.
7. Okay, so the pics weren't the greatest I agree, but I've seen similar ones to those of AC from other top notch meetings and they all have that same appearance in common. SMathews (above) is correct, they don't hold meetings at the Ritz Carlton but that's just typical there and how they do it. As far as the invitation goes, when they don't put down any cash for a proper meeting venue why would you expect gold foil wedding type invitations. Just sayin.... All looks legit and very typical of being in a war torn country.
8. INTERESTING. JUST WENT TO THAT LINK & READ THAT. THANKS FOR SHARING. ALWAYS WELCOME ALL VIEWS.
9. I gotta agree with you here. I've been following too. Eveything AmericanContractor post's seems to be in check. People need to stop being in denial. Yes, the truth sometimes hurts.
10. TAE

AC email

Really? Because I didn't see where it implied that. Not seeing that as a confirmation at all. Quote: 'estephan: 'Thanks for the post, I especially liked the part about the two currency's existing simultaniously. This would confirm no lop.
11. "Speculating' is the key word in your statement. No truth in that. Story telling.
12. I picked up on that too SMathews. Thanks for clarifying that and posting the correct information on Article 110.
13. You're welcome. In regards to AC being fishy,....Nah,...he's really just a good guy, Very transparent. I have to email him sometimes to have him explain some things better to me (which he does) because sometimes I'm just not 'getting' what he say's or sometimes I think he has difficulty conveying what he's sometimes trying to relay in a way in which we here in the States can understand. Great Post Captain! To the POINT!
14. *Let me see if I can somehow help you out here since this is your second request (posting on this thread) asking the very same question.... Are you asking for the link to the Amer. Contractor web site to see that he posted that TODAY? If so, go to his website. Just add .com after his name. If you are looking for a specific link to where he got his information from you can do one of either two things,....look up the Iraqi Constitution, OR you can email him and ask that question directly. That's what I usually do when I have a question regarding something someone said. Just ask,...email. You said "I do not recall seeing this". Have you looked?
15. I see someone else has clearly been around as long as I have.
16. You're right. I checked too. He never said it wasn't happening. AC has not been wrong. He is esentially saying that "it is reported to have been cancelled, and STATES "I have yet to CONFIRM this with associates". BLOG QUOTE: "The Parliament meeting is scheduled for Thursday, 11 November. In light of what has occurred at the Tuesday Baghdad meeting, the Parliament meeting on Thursday has said to have been canceled. I have yet to confirm this with my associates."
17. You're pretty rude. Especially to someone who has to spend the holiday in Iraq while you get to eat your Turkey with your family. Your comment to desert medic was uncalled for. The guy was just commenting that he's in Iraq. Basically getting the point across that he's still there so that rumor is BOGUS. .
18. Glad to see at least one person is catching on.
19. Amer ic an Contractor November 16, 2010 In Iraq Its All About The Points Today is the start of the first day of the celebration of Id al-Adha holiday in Iraq. I previously mentioned, in my last post that PM Maliki has yet to receive the needed official letter from the President elect Jalal Talabani to start forming the government. From the time when PM Maliki receives the official letter is when the 30 days actually starts that a government is formed and no time before. It’s possible that they might be waiting till after the Id al-Adha holiday is over to send that letter. In the meantime, everyone is celebrating the forming of the government (which is only partly true of the forming) however, they still have ministries and cabinet positions to fill. I should warn you all not to get prematurely excited because I am being told that PM Maliki has to fist resign his position and then be re-elected by the Iraqi Parliament again as the new Prime Minister. It is the talk of the town right here in Baghdad and people are speculating on what could happen. The question being brought up right now is “What if PM Maliki resigns his position and then the Iraqi Parliament refuses to vote for him or he resigns and the Parliament chooses or votes for someone completely different”. Could be a possible back door job. It will be interesting to see what the end result will be. When it comes to Iraq, anything could happen and nothing surprises me. In the meantime, different political blocs are discussing the mechanism for allocating the ministerial portfolios. They are talking about a point system. For every two parliamentary seats that you’d won in the March election you get one point. The sovereign posts such as the Prime Minister, President, Parliament Speaker post and Chairman for the National Council for Strategic Policies will all get 15 points. The leader of the Al-Iraqiyah List Iyad Allawi would have already used 30 points of his total because he has the Parliament Speaker and the Council for strategic Policies position. Keep an eye out to to see new ministries created and old ones discontinued. As things change here within the Iraqi government I hear of more and more rumors that are running rampant in the world wide web. I will try to debunk most of them here and now: For one, there is absolutely NO military unit that is over here in Iraq with a mission for the Iraqi dinar. That is completely FALSE. I find it kind of silly that some would think that a unit would be configured for that one kind of assignment. If anyone comes forward and claims to be a part of this mission or even pretends to have knowledge of it know that they are being misleading. In fact, most of the units will be withdrawing from now until the end of next year. Most of the unit rotations who still remain here are your standard and business as usual types. Another rumor making the rounds (this rumor has been recycled every year for the last three years) is in regards to the Ration Card. Just this year alone I have mentioned the ration card several times. The Ration Card is NOT going to be valued at less than what it was last month or even last year. It is still the same and I did previously mention to you that the Iraqi government is not offering the same food items as they had in the past. The only notable thing that the Iraqi government has done in regards to the Ration Cards is that all Iraq Army officers from the rank of Major and above have had all their cards canceled solely because their income is above the threshold. That is ALL that has changed in regards to the card. If you have been following the don't promote other sites blog or are a subscriber to the mailing list you would have already known that I had mentioned the Iraqi government was preparing a list. The Ration Card; if you make more then 2,100 usd a month you no longer get the staples, the benefits of the Ration Card. ************** /2010/01/24_jan_american_contractor_int.html The Iraqi government wants a list of all Iraqi's that make more than 1.5 million dinar that hold a Ration Card. ************/2009/06/chapter_seven_update_1.html Americ a n Contractor
20. You didn't do anything wrong. When the A m e r i c a n Contractor name is typed in on this site it is automatically transformed into "don't promote other sites". No one is actually telling 'you' the poster that. I know,...confusing....
21. Everyone abreviates the name because it is blocked if you spell it out. (Take out the spaces) A m e r i c a n C o n t r a c t o r has his own site. Google it.
22. You are absolutely CORRECT. The Amer. Contractor did NOT state that. Bunch of word twisting going on and putting words into someone's mouth they didn't say or post. People either have trouble reading or comprehending, not sure which one.
23. He has his own web site and email subscription thing. Not sure if we can post other web site links but if you just go by his name, (take out the space, put name together) then add .com you'll get there. You can also do a Google search.
24. Wonder if the meeting is over....... Anticipation is killing me. I keep looking in my inbox for a new email.
25. Not sure what you mean by this: "guess we understand the camp you're in."?? I posted NEWS. Anyways, yes, they do need to be figured out but it's nothing any of us here are going to be able to do.
