  1. Thanks and here is my reply check.
  2. Likewise on 4 July both Presidents John Adams and Thomas Jefferson died... I remember that from the HBO series on John Adams. I love history..
  3. Boozer, thanks for actually reading and responding to my post. As you know, I was asking the pre- 1990 dinar rate, to get a sense of what the international community would support for an IQD re-val From that reuters article, the quote I used was from the UN Security Council. Dollar to IQD would make the most sense for the local commerce in Iraq, but encouraging a return to the 2.00 - 2.86 $ to IQD is more to my liking.
  4. Adam, This quote was in a Reuters statement: " The Security Council resolution recognized "the importance of Iraq achieving international standing equal to that which it held prior to (1990)." U.S.-led troops drove Iraq out of Kuwait in the 1991 Gulf War." What was the dinar rate prior to 1990, that the Security Council feel is where Iraq should roll back to? Thanks
  5. Here is what I got of value out of the Reuters statement: The Security Council resolution recognized "the importance of Iraq achieving international standing equal to that which it held prior to (1990)." U.S.-led troops drove Iraq out of Kuwait in the 1991 Gulf War. Now, what was the Dinar value prior to 1990???????
  6. Damn good news. Hoping the other obstacles can be worked out as quickly and smoothly as this unanimous vote went. Well done, Iraq. Now finish it!
  7. Ditto with Strolld2. This has been an aggravating and educational experience, but hopefully it will soon come to a profitable end. Thank you all for the knowledge, hysteria, comedy, fellowship, foolishness, comtempt and support thru out this endeavor. Peace be with you all. TP
  8. Fantastic chat today. Very encouraging and exciting. Thanks Adam and staff!
  9. For the years that I have been involved in this investment I feel that the positive things that can lend itself to Re-val are happening at a dissying pace, even more so then when they were forming the coalition government itself. The UN Sec. Gen stating Iraq has met the requirements to be released from sanctions, reports that all the permanent members of the UNSC are supporting release from sanctions, Maliki actually directly negotiating with the Kurds, the Kurds statements that they have made agreements with Bagdad on a number of issues, are all very exciting and forward moving things. These are all things that are published happenings, and not some guru fed nonsense. If indeed the UN lifts the sanctions on 27 June, to my understanding, the Iraqi's no longer have UN oversight over the running of their country and that they have been allowed back into a UN member in good standing. If that is the case then with no constraints holding them back (UN, Kuwait, USA) why wouldn't they immediately start to roll out the economic measures to expand their oil production and sale and hand in hand with that raise the value of their domestic currency to match what value they set for their gross national product (oil / gas). They can't continue to deprecate their monetary value when there is no constrant to do so.That would be like being released from prison and refusing to leave your cell. With all of the activity pushing this forward, who is to say that there have not been an equal amount of effort to line up the economic mechanism needed to jump start this while they have so much momentum and support . Just trying to make sense out of why a delay.
  10. That is what I am most encouraged by, Maliki working things out with the Kurds and hopefully locking down all HCL issues. So, at the next parliament meeting, they can read into law a ratified HCL. That and the favorable dealings with Kuwait should move the UN to lift the C7 sanctions and motivate the CBI to value their currency at the earliest opportunity before this unprecedented cooperation vanishes. Fingers crossed.
  11. Caustiously optimistic that this thing will soon bare fruit. Thanks for the chat. Been doing a lot of lurking but this was worthy of input this week. Good luck to all this happens soon! Blessings to you Francie!
  12. It absolutely astounds me when the Afghannies react so violently (Koran burning = mistake, this recent shooting = "Snapped" ), against the U.S. when we are there to separate them from their fellow countrymen killing them. When the Taliban and Al Queada blow up a market or a funeral all you see is crying and anguish but none of the violent outrage that should be present. This recent shooting is troubling simply from the standpoint that we have so many troops over there with as many or more combat deployments under their belts and they are only a snap decision away from doing the same thing. Bottom line is that the President and Military Leaders have to see there is no value added to staying until 2014 and they need to accelerate the withdrawal of all forces as expeditiously as they can. Karsai is a sitting criminal and is tied at the hip with all the terrorist we are there to eliminate. I feel for the families that were killed, as much as I feel for the troops who have sacrificed so much of their time with their families and their own mental health to our nations defense. Bring them home now and get them the mental/psychological help they need and deserve. JMHO
  13. I have to say, All of the CSI's, Spartacus Game of Thrones Harry's Law Once Upon a Time Are the one's I DVR to watch over the weekend.
  14. A Pig in a Poke... pretty funny Cisole!!! Welcome Fleming, this is a great place to learn a lot regarding this particular investment and if you are VIP, financial planning as well. Enjoy!
  15. The one take away that I see from this perspective is that maybe even Iraq is not in control of when they will RV. If "Big Bankers" are calling the shots, then it will be when it is most economically feasible for them to pull the trigger. Could it be they are waiting for further collapse of the European economy to maximize their profit. Who knows, but being invested as I am, I will continue to have the patience of a turtle and will get there when I get there. Happy Holidays Dinar Family. Terry
  16. I will sell my current house, donate my camaro and navigator to family members, put the exchanged dinar in a high yield account and live abroad in the south pacific (Tahiti, Fiji, Bora Bora, Thailand, Phillipines) where I can get exponential growth in the exchange rate. I would come back to visit family and friends on special occasions (holidays/marriages/birthdays) and of course to see my Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens in my private suite at M&T Bank Stadium. Will definitely make a substantial donation to charities supporting returning and wounded troops. Oh yeah, and if it is a good RV I'm buying an apartment in NYC next door to Tiffani929 .......
  17. Love the new chat format, keep up the good work. Although I hope it won't be needed for much longer!
  18. That you travel so often, there is a way that you can register with your airline by providing additional information that flags you as less a security risk. I use United and filled in the TSA Secure Flight Information. I have on occasion stepped into the body scan, had my carry-on go thru the scanner a couple times, and had to stop and have the bomb wipes dabbed on my stuff but nothing more than the expected. I do international travel and maybe that extra info provided/registered with the airline flags me as more trusted. Hope this info is helpful, can't erase what happened to you, but if you can lessen the likelihood it will happen again it may count for something.
  19. Sportfisher that is pretty funny. Reminds me of a joke I heard years ago: A missionary worked in an African village hundreds of miles from the next, was called into the village chiefs hut. The chief, looking angry, asked " you only white man around for hundreds of miles, how do you explain the birth of this white baby" ? The missionary anxious to not further aggravate the chief points to the herd of sheep in the field. He says " Chief in that field of white sheep, there is one lone Black sheep, now I can't explain how....." The chief interrupts the missionary and says, " okay okay, you no tell on me, I no tell on you"!
  20. I use to have a Chevy Nova with Cutlass 442 rims. It was sweet, but sucked on gas mileage! Go RV
  21. Maybe we need to throttle back a bit. If the receiver was "honoring the Troops", you don't salute from a bent knee with the wrong hand. If anything that could be seen more as disrespect if anything. Tankdude hit it right on the head. He was flagged for a rules infraction, period. Like it or not!???
  22. That was a shameful practice and very disheartening, being a retired Air Force Master Sergeant and a friend of the NCOIC of the Marine detachment responsible for escorting the fallen troops from Dover to Arlington National cemetery I know they carry out their duties with the utmost reverence and respect for all returning service members. I take heart that they have taken the measures necessary to eliminate this practice and my heart goes out to the families of those who's remains were mishandled. Hate to point a finger at anyone, not knowing all the facts, but anyone ever serving in uniform ( whether they are active still or a defense contractor) would never dishonor a fellow service-menber in any way. JMH(umble)O Terry P.
