  1. Regarding the escalating opinions on this board that any so-called pumpers have infiltrated your lives and taken over your logical reasoning: Please stop the nonsense. Ask yourself, are you a pumper? Are you to blame? What did you buy into, and why? Why is there someone always willing to make a post that says, "Okie is at it again ..."?? Why are you willing to read that post? With varying levels of sophistication, we all came into this investment because we saw what we wanted to see. Has anything changed? Not really. What hard evidence did you evaluate and buy in to when you paid your $500 - $10,000 to buy the IQD that will change your life? None, there isn't any -- no prospectus, no concrete Iraqi business plan, etc. But there is extremely unstable state and ME regional politics, always were. Still, did that stop most of you from spreading the word FROM your trusted friends and/or relatives TO your uninitiated friends and relatives about this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity which is just about to payoff (RV) because of the 1) pullout of American Troops Aug. 31st; 2) Nov. 2nd deadline approaching; 3) unexpected lifting of almost all of the Chapter 7 sanctions 12/15/2010; 4) PM election settled -- Maliki PM; 5) "Promise" of RV of IQD during 2010; 6) Seating of GOI; 7) So-called budget deadline; 8) Budget deadline; 9) Budget approved; 10) Seating of GOI; You have NOT been duped: Nothing has changed. Except the perceived timeline. And your expectations. The investment still makes sense. It just may take up to 5 more years. Seriously. Or, it may never RV ... Ask yourself (honestly), how was this frenzy created? It was not created by the internet; it was created by you -- talking to your loved ones and business associates, fostering the unsubstantiated expectations (and driving the price of IQD up from the dealers). It is legal for dealers to sell IQD AND to 'ask' whatever price they want for them. Now, you want to know why all the things that YOU have been saying are not true. They never were. They were 'possibly' true. But, like most people, when you feel like you are 'in' on something, you can't help but spread the word (intel). And spread it as fact. Personally, I have shared the IQD investment speculation with 3 people, somewhat unenthusiastically because, for me, this has always been a bit of a gamble-type investment. None of the 3 have invested in the IQD. I don't care if they do or they don't. So ... are you a pumper? In most cases (from what I've read) I would say yes, you are a pumper. If pumpers bother you, then stop pumping. And stop complaining, please. By now you know that you can sell your IQD back to ________ (fill in the blank) at about 70-75% of what you paid for them. This would be about the best result of any 'failed' investment that I ever had ... I am still grateful that a business associate of mine mentioned the IQD to me last summer. At the time, I figured that I would by much more upset with myself if this currency RV'd and I did NOT have any than I would if it never RV'd and I DID own some IQD -- so I bought about $5K worth of IQD. Nothing has changed. All I need is $0.68. Someday. If I 'lose' on this investment, it's my fault. How about you? Didn't you CHOOSE to believe non-verifiable information? I gotta get back to work ... TS I believe in the RV; I don't believe in the cult.
  2. $0.56 is very plausible, as a starting point, I believe and is still more that the current rate of Saudi Arabia -- a major oil producing nation. TS I believe in the RV; I don't believe in the cult.
  3. This is one of the most revealing articles that I've seen ... and speaks loudly to the idea that we are nowhere near RV -- and likely far, far from $3+. True, the translation can be challenged, but the message seems pretty clear that this will continue to move slowly regardless of how desperate and deserving that we, on this board, continue to portray ourselves. Thank you for that post. TS I believe in the RV; I don't believe in the cult.
  4. Obviously news must be slow, and hope must be low, if we have lowered ourselves to debating whether or not there should be a limit on negative votes. Smee comes out as the voice of reason on this ... TS I believe in the RV; I don't believe in the cult.
  5. Legolas, I appreciate how well written your essay is. It is interesting to note how the majority on this board have shown themselves to be quite impatient with what is a bit of a "gamble" type investment in the first place. The phrase "counting your chickens before they hatch" comes to mind. Seems like a lot of chickens were counted the day that each individual's dinars arrived by FEDEX. Deenar sums it up bluntly yet succincly below: I appreciate this Deenar. Thanks. As to your observation, Legolas, that most people bought this (and most things) based on hope. That may be true, but that is the responsibility that each individual must bear. I perceive your original post as 'venting'. This can be the place for that. What is interesting to me is to observe how perception of investors changes over time. I can see that yours, Legolas, has changed in spite of the fact that the fundamentals of the investment have not. Unlike most investments, this one never had a prospectus or business plan. It always has been a gamble. Please don't gamble what you cannot afford to lose. TS I believe in the RV; I don't believe in the cult.
  6. The larger dealers absolutely have 100 Million IQD in inventory ... and they paid about $85,000 to get it ... and they pay rent every month to do business ... and they pay to secure it .... and they pay staff to answer the phones and fulfill the IQD orders ... and they pay their electric bill ... and they pay their heating/AC bill ... and they pay their taxes ... And then they buy more to refill depleted inventory so that they can fulfill your next order. And they'll buy it back when jittery investors lose their nerve -- at 75% of what recent investors paid for it originally. TS I believe in the RV; I don't believe in the cult.
  7. FX, You are right on ... keep it up. TS I believe in the RV; I don't believe in the cult.
  8. I'm sure this board will be tense today (and this weekend) because so many people have been willing to buy into the latest "absolute" proclamation of the IQD RV. One comment above suggests that a little accountability should be in order. Really, we (you) need to all be accountable to ourselves and the expectations that we are willing to buy into. I will accept the RV at any time. Personally, I do not believe that it will be today or before March 1st. If I hear that Sonny1 is indeed selling all of his IQD, as he stated that he would if the IQD failed to RV by Feb. 25, I am still keeping mine. Seriously, people. Your outrage says more about you than it does about those who sold you the dinar or those that claim to have an inside source. See below: Robdel -- you have contradicted yourself here: A prudent investor doesn't allow himself to be "taken captive ..." I understand the desperation that exists in this country and in each of our own minds. Sitting on a winning lottery ticket and waiting for cash in IS frustrating. If you no longer believe in your investment, then sell out by all means. If you need the money, sell out. But please stop blaming those who write the next chapter of the truth every Wednesday because you have the option of ignoring it or dismissing it ... Fool me once ... No one really knows any more than you do. If you are new to this board and to this investment, I give you a bit of a pass. Please consider this point of view however, because it is likely that some of the desperate people referenced above (who bought into the so-called experts) were the ones who's advice you followed when you decided to invest in the IQD. There are probably only a few threads of origination to this whole board. I wish you all the best and prosperity with this investment. Please stop driving yourselves crazy. You will be notified when the RV occurs, so chill. TS I believe in the RV; I don't believe in the cult.
  9. Get ready to sell, then, because there will be no RV by noon. And get ready for all the posts of people pleading with you to wait because we are SO close. I'm keeping mine, though. TS I believe in the RV; I don't believe in the cult.
  10. Hootie, There's just too much work to do to rebuild infrastructure and utilities and to make a general recovery from (what is now) nearly a third world country. Of course I would prefer to be wrong about this, but even the free market (or free float) wouldn't drive the price anywhere near $3 anytime soon because of the deficiencies cause by Saddam's 25 years + the war + the brain drain. Why do you believe that Iraq will have a currency at or above Kuwait's currency? Kuwait is light years ahead of Iraq in terms of being a well-oiled economic machine, dependent on oil exports or not. Real rebuilding will take 3-5 years. It is being projected that Iraq will pump as much as 10M barrels a day by 2015 or so. This may cut into the 10 years that I mentioned. Call it negativity if you need to, but positive thinking alone isn't going to make us rich. I've been in this long enough to understand the animal of the IQD and $0.50 - $0.75 would be a jackpot. Even Adam states in his book that anything from $0.10 and up is reasonable. Maybe 'up' means $5, but I don't think so. There have been many reasonable posts in the last week that have stated 'up to' $1. 1-1 would be HUGE. There has been a lot of conversation about an RV before the 1st at $0.60+. But that's just negativity. Help me understand why you believe that a devastated country like Iraq can suddenly (overnight) have the most valuable currency in the world. Just typing that out makes it sound even more ludicrous. What evidence do you have that $3 - $5 should be expected? Besides TK's testimony as such? TS I believe in the RV; I don't believe in the cult.
  11. I'd like to take that to the bank, but I believe anything over $0.40 would be a huge win ... $0.68+ and I'm outta here. The GET numbers that you reference are hilarious. I don't believe that we'll ever see $5. Maybe in 10+ years, we might see $3. Might! And no RV tomorrow. Not many, if any, deaths either (I disagree with Steve1 on this). This country already has a democracy (call it what you like). These other middle eastern uprisings are protests against dictators. Iraq's dictator was removed in 2003. And hung, remember! Yes, I acknowledge the internal political problems that are going on in Iraq. But the momentum in the middle east is to get what Iraq already has. This should reinforce the Iraqi people regarding their progress and it should put anyone with so-called baathist intentions on notice that those days are gone. No back-sliding allowed. I would love an RV tomorrow, but I believe that reality is a dream. If we don't see the RV by July 4th, we'll be waiting a helluva long time. That's my deadline. Of course, I'd take an RV anytime ;-). TS I believe in the RV; I don't believe in the cult.

  13. C'mon people. Try to keep up. I feel like I'm watching reruns of the Andy Griffith show. Thanks for the post, Barney. TS I believe in the RV; I don't believe in the cult.
  14. Hey, Pretender ... above is your best advice ... TURN YOUR IQD INTO CASH NOW ... about 80-85% of what you bought them for (or better)!! Do it now. 2M IQD = $1,800+ today. TS I believe in the RV; I don't believe in the cult.
  15. Go ahead and burn them ... People, stop trying to talk him out of it. Be real. You know you won't burn them, dude. Please post a pic of the IQD going up in flames for verification. Thanks. TS I believe in the RV; I don't believe in the cult.
  16. Pardon me, newbie, but I find this hard to believe. If you've spent any time on this board, then you should have no trouble finding ample ammunition to support your "case". If this is the only reason that you were fired, then I would definitely get an attorney, assuming that you are not in an 'at will' employment state. Good luck. For those of you outside the loop -- HOLDING DINAR DOES NOT FUND TERRORISM. This is a ridiculous assertion ... TS I believe in the RV; I don't believe in the cult.
  17. 2/3 is far more than show up to vote in the US. TS I believe in the RV; I don't believe in the cult.
  18. Not sure if this is a sincere inquiry ... but the answer is pretty simple: Determine how much monthly income you need to retire at $0.50, then buy that amount of IQD (assuming you can afford to lose that much). If it comes out higher, then you are golden. $0.50 IS probably reasonable, should this ever RV. ALSO, look into holding your RV in a Roth IRA. Regardless of your age, you can access your Roth IRA, post RV, without penalty and tax-free using Rule 72t. TS I believe in the RV; I don't believe in the cult.
  19. NO one actually knows anything. Adam's book actually lays out the reality best ... NO "intel" has proven to be correct. The idea of the RV DOES make sense on many levels. FINALLY, as of last week, some prognosticators are offering realistic, reasonable projections of $0.35+ ... NO WAY $3.00+ $0.68 and I'm outta here ... TS I believe in the RV; I don't believe in the cult.
  20. Mods, Now that Kenneth has weighed in, you may as well close this thread 'cause it's about to go on a ride ... to crazyland. Thank you. TS I believe in the RV; I don't believe in the cult.
  21. Lonzworth, You are wasting your breath, Bud. The majority of the people on this board aren't interested in how the US 'drained' the world for its best interests, positioned itself and strong-armed the world for decades in order to reap the rewards (regardless the costs -- see recent Ecuador decision). The perspective of the vast majority of the people on this board simply doesn't see this reality (history). Or isn't willing to acknowledge it. I read Confessions ... and I loved it. What an eye opener. Basically, we are all here for the same reason. I try to stay out of the flaming back and forth that can occur here. Let's hope for the best. And soon. TS I believe in the RV; I don't believe in the cult.
  22. At the same time, Warren Buffett -- one of the richest people in the world -- is adamant when he says that the income taxes that he pays are unfairly low. "Buffett cited himself, the third-richest person in the world, as an example. Last year, Buffett said, he was taxed at 17.7 percent on his taxable income of more than $46 million. His receptionist was taxed at about 30 percent. Buffett said that was despite the fact that he was not trying to avoid paying higher taxes. "I don't have a tax shelter," he said. And he challenged Congress and his audience to see what the people who "clean our offices" are taxed, to loud applause." http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/06/27/AR2007062700097.html Who's right?
