  1. "So you read nothing into these events? While it is certainly nothing official, isn't it something you'd like to know about at least? I am not quite sure what to make of all this, but it is definately something I'd like to keepan eye on." This all has been debunked many times over ... the rate on the calculators shown now shows the normal rate with maybe the exception of Jordan (which has been explained many times by mods on this site). No, I don't read anything into these events. It's called PREFERRED BELIEF. The preference is to believe the unbelievable ... keep you eyes on xe and forex. Yes, I believe it will RV, but it has been proven that the 'rate and date claimers' are always wrong. Always. TS
  2. Here is one of the articles ... This is working for me on Explorer Friday, January 14, 2011 13:58 A new report exacerbated the phenomenon of squatter settlements in various parts of Baghdad, with the deterioration of living conditions where they depend on garbage as the main source of living, while besieged by diseases and epidemics. In contrast, authorized officials in local government that they do not have alternatives to redeem them from their crisis, and justify resorting to widespread unemployment garbage! Nasr City district of victory or one of dozens of settlements that formed around Baghdad since 2003. The city is one of the biggest areas that has grown in size with the escalating waves of violence, where the delegation of the displaced from other regions and recently increased even more, because unemployment has forced other tenants to leave their homes, with the rise of the housing crisis faced by Baghdad, there are a lot of vacant land, but seizure illegal, prompting the people who suffer from this crisis to build to protect their families. It is believed the people of this city that the number of 500 thousand people, and guess the provincial council that there are about 600 thousand people occupying the 42 camps around the city of Baghdad, which amounts to almost the population of the city of Boston, but in a country where there are no population statistics, where the risk of some government agencies to go there is a belief rather than fact. He says the governor Salah Abdul Razak "Those people picking up garbage to the lack of employment opportunities," adding that "These slums are illegal, so do not provide maintenance services such as education and medical care, security, electricity, sewage and clean water, under such circumstances can become a neighborhood haven for criminals and thieves and terrorists, kidnappers, but we can not deport them because there are no alternatives. " For his part, says Chijeel buffer, a citizen go to the district victory coming from the province of Maysan, "at the height of violence in 2005 because of the lack of opportunity to work for me in the province moved to here." He was standing in front of two rooms built by the "block" on the vacant land where he lives with his wife and five children. The three children go to school while the other two go out to work in garbage collection in order to benefit the family. And their cooking and heating using wood, and when they do not have wood wrapped themselves in blankets, while there was a moat of sewage water passes from the front of the house.
  3. Bony, NotReallyTex is being very sensible (and very kind) to you. If it doesn't make sense to you, don't invest. AND, if you can't afford the $30 to buy Adam Montana's book in order to further your due diligence, then don't invest. Frankly, I don't believe that this will ever make sense to you. For me? It started with ... if this thing REALLY hits and I'm NOT in, I'll feel far worse than I would if it doesn't hit and I AM it. From there I learned more and eventually invested more. TS
  4. I gave you advice, Bony. Apparently you don't want it. Be honest, if I gave you $2,000 to invest in the dinar, you still wouldn't invest in it. Would you?
  5. Nicely put in last paragraph, NotReallyTex !!
  6. Bony, Read Adam Montana's book (available on this site). Go through all the forum discussions here. Learn about the history of Iraq on dinar trade website. You'll have to forgive us on this site for not directly writing an essay about why we invested -- this question is asked many times per week. Simply, you pay your money and you take your chances. Read Adam Montana's book -- see if it resonates with you. Of the few people that I've mentioned this to ... no one has invested in the dinar. Maybe that's you too. No problem, but I'm IN ... TS
  7. It's evident that the level of frustration/desperation is growing in general and on this site because of the projected deadlines never fulfilled. BUT, it is also evident that the loudest voices on this site that decry the 'rumors' and false 'intel' are very hypocritical. If you really are fed up and convinced that each and every rumor posted is BS, then you would 1) sell your dinar for $1K per million (if your currency is uncirculated). This is about 95+% of what most of us paid for our Iraqi currency; or, 2) Just quit reading this site and receive the information about an RV when it occurs from an SMS or email -- save yourself the aggravation. Take a stand, follow through with some real action that would really make an impression. Adam is on record with an ongoing offer to buy dinar. Yes, it gets a bit tiring, but I'm still here ... and I (like most of us) am at about break-even with this investment. Love it to happen tomorrow the 14th. OR, 2015 for that matter. Hard to imagine that it will never happen but it is definitely possible. There's a difference between and skeptic and a cynic. Please just hold your tongue (your fingers). The combined loss of productivity because of the time spent on this site probably equals or exceeds Iraq's current GDP ;-) TS

  10. Thanks, Phantom. Potentially makes as much (or more) sense than anything I've seen. As I understand it, the $3.22 rate was last valid just before Saddam invaded Kuwait in the fall of 1990. So the explanation of 2004 doesn't make sense at all ... By the time they collected all the Saddam currency and reissued the present Iraqi dinar, I believe we were at $1 to 4000 IQD in 2003/2004. Still, seems somethings off with that Jordanian exchanger. Are we all grasping at straws? TS
  11. Tom, Thanks! If we believe Tom, which I DO, then there continues to be growing evidence that most information regarding RV, closed borders (if not the ever-present claims of the removal of the large denoms), and the present will of God are misleading (at best). Is there really ANY intel? Most of the check boxes for RV have been checked. If we don't see anything by our own independence day, then I will have to believe it will be a very long wait. Didn't someone post a vision by psychic a couple months ago who said that this investment was looking very good for 2016 ;-) ?? Still, of course, I'm not cash out ... TS
  12. Bane: RE: "Well I wasn't told that. I was told by a friend that it WILL RV and I will make millions of dollars. So I quickly bought with Ali. Therefore don't tell me that I knew I wasn't guaranteed a return on my investment. I WAS guaranteed. It wasn't until later I found out about this site and some are saying differently." But the person who told you that you would make millions failed to do his/her research and really had a false understanding of the principle foundation of the dinar and its unknown variables. You, then, took him as an 'expert'. This is a mistake that many of us have made to a certain degree. You were guaranteed a return? I realize than anyone of us can be a bit gullible/desperate, but the old saying from Ben Franklin goes that "The only things certain in life are death and taxes." ... With that said, I believe that you and I ARE in a good position. Please keep holding on ... Hopefully, we'll find that we owe a lot in taxes very soon. OR, this year. OR, within the next couple years ... TS
  13. Nice, Quad ... Actually, I live on Reserve Street in my town so it is a bit of a play (or my own private joke, until now) TS
  14. This is likely to fall on deaf ears, but it is my observation that most people on this forum have a perspective problem. Potentially, as many as 80% of the people on this forum ... I am not going to restate why it makes sense that an RV will occur. There's enough of that for you to review, if you are willing to dig into it. But ... 1) Please re-read Adam's book. You have bought into this currency and this free website/forum for a reason. Still, many need to adjust their perspective. Nowhere is it stated that you are guaranteed a return on your investment. And nowhere is it stated that anonymous sources are likely to be correct regarding rate and date. Most or all of these 'experts' ARE anonymous. Why do you regard them so highly? Because they refer to God a lot? Or because they have supposedly been holding Iraqi dinar for 3 or 5 or 7 years? Or, they say that they used to work in a bank? Or, and oilfield? Please ... !! And, yes, I know that I am anonymous as well. But I did work in an oilfield once, for a year. Actually gas drilling. 2) Dealers raising their pricing is good for us ... that's why we got into this investment -- to see the price go up! From what I can ascertain, since 2003 the price of Iraqi dinar has ONLY gone up, certainly only trended up long-term. If you have purchased your dinar in the last year (most of you, probably), you are now about even with the current 'buyback' pricing. What if the 'sell' and the 'buyback' pricing were to double today's pricing? You will have doubled your money. Not bad. 3) Please learn how to spell definitely -- not 'definately'. This has nothing to do with anything, just a pet peeve of mine. Also, learn to use spell check -- see google toolbar. Pretty simple. Also, it's losing, not loosing. Here's hoping that we're not losing any money. Sorry, had to get that in there. Finally, align your perspective with reality or, at least, to that of a savvy investor. Investments are an educated guess, a risk based on research. Please re-do your research. I think you will find that most everything about this speculative currency investment makes sense. We can still lose all of our money, however. How bad would that be? Seems like the average investor on this board has somewhere between $500 and $2,500 invested. That shouldn't be the end of anyone's life if you lose it. But, hey, here's hoping for a 1-1 RV! Remove your finger from the panic button. It'll be all right. Have a great evening. TS
  15. Frankly, I hope they continue to raise their prices -- that's why I bought the currency, to see it appreciate. Yes, I know that's not 'true' appreciation; however, if they double their 'sell' price and also double their 'buyback' price, then I've basically doubled my money. If it RV's then we're talking stupid money. This is what we want. TS
  16. This is a 'legal' business -- selling dinar. No scam. This gets a bit tiring ... perhaps, for the uninitiated, it appears you have been duped. BUT, you need to educate yourself. No one ever guaranteed that you would make money. You are listening to the wrong people. Did you read Adam's book? No guarantees. I like the investment ... but I haven't given up working. And, worst case, I'll lose a few thousand dollars if everything goes south. As it is now, today, I could get back about 95% of my investment if I needed the money next week. Really, people that keep coming back to the idea of 'scam' are uninformed. Basically, your own mind is scamming you and you need to further your education. You will be better served to get off of the message boards and 'cash in' when notified. Don't worry, you'll hear of the RV if/when it happens. Or, sell out and get (most of) your money back. TS
  17. Darin's post is well reasoned. Price gouging is simply not in play (and from a business perspective is an ignorant comment). If you want to get dinars at a cheaper rate, it is well documented that you can get them cheaper in Iraq. Of course, then you need a plane ticket, time off from work, hotel money, etc ... AND, if you believe it, you may be hassled at the airport and find that you are 'restricted' from taking Iraqi currency out of the country. Simply, we pay our money and take our chances ... TS
  18. My 'buyback' prospects have gone up 10-15% since I first invested in the dinar last Aug ... if I wanted out now, I'd only have a loss of a few bucks. But I'm in this for the long haul. Anything over 60 cent RV retires me. TS
  19. Quit reading it then ... have someone call you when the IQD RV's -- Pretty simple.
  20. Why would anyone want to post news in today's bashing environment? Why would we want to listen to anyone when most/all are all over the map and little, if any, of the prognostications since I joined in Sept have borne out? We just need to let the process play out and keep your cursor off of the 'dinar on reserve' button. TS
  21. Please give us a 'break' -- the date on the piece that you posted is from 2008!
  22. Ali of DinarTrade has been interviewed on at least one of those networks before ... TS
  23. Please Don't!! -- Not trying to bash Islam, but there is only one true and living G_d and thats the G_d of the bible. The god of Islam is a figment of their imagination and therefore can bless nothing. He can't bless because he doesn't exist. The above simply inflames and divides. Please respect the beliefs of others as your beliefs should be respected as well. TS
