I completely agree with you.

My apologies if I read this wrong, but the way I understood it, the banks would be allowed to sell the dollar to the citizens of Iraq. The people of Iraq would trade in their dinar notes for US Dollars which would in turn be pulling the dinar off the streets. Then when they eventually come out with the new currency, the people of Iraq would then take their US Dollars and switch them once again for the new Iraqi dinar which would then take the US dollar off of the street. Once again, I apologize if I read this incorrectly or misunderstood it. Thanks.

Maybe they are looking for another way to pull more larger notes out of circulation. People trade their dinar for dollars, then when enough is pulled in, they move toward de-dollarizing. JMHO.

I am going to have to agree with you here. In my opinion, if they were to redominate without an RV, then someone that turned a 25,000 note would have to get back 25,000 dinar in the lower denoms. This would cause them to have too many of the lower demons in circulation, which they would then have to pull back in a large percentage of the smaller demons before they could even possibly RV. Doesn't sound probable. I feel that if it is not simultaneous, it would happen within days of each other. Now if this is correct information, then the only way would be to lop in this case and I dont feel that this is what the plan is. Once again, this is just my opinion. Cheers, Machete

It was actually a rather small trade. Much less than normal. If you look at the list again, the second to last column where the 0's have been is the cash portion, the last column is the wire transfer portion, and when you add the 2 together you come up with the 3rd to last column which is the total volumn in USD (including cash and wire transfer). Someone entered the 150,000 in error, it should have only been 150 in the slot because all of the numbers listed are supposed to be multiplied by 1000 to get the figure. If you look at some of the other auction days that involved cash you will see what I am talking about. Cheers, Machete
