  1. Adam, we're now about mid-way through October. A couple of months ago you said to look for HCL progress first and then you could start getting excited about an RV. On the surface we haven't really heard much of anything, legislatively. Do you have any sources that give us any optimism that, at the least, HCL related laws will make it to a parliamentary vote this year? Or are signs beginning to point to sometime early 2016 for that to happen?
  2. Just perused some historical IQD data at XE. Lowest rate I could find was 1132 back in late September.
  3. Is that a... DOUBLE DOG DARE !! :-) Is that a... DOUBLE DOG DARE !! :-)
  4. DRJ, The gentleman I referred to was complaining that parliament was full of a bunch of weak do-nothings. I am afraid that they will live down to that label, come Thursday. I am betting that no major legislation is even brought before parliament for a full. Just my 2c.
  5. Just don't be surprised if parliament proves mr. Chenkali right right around Thursday morning our time. :-(
  6. Any thoughts about a "soliciting-of-any-kind-is-not-allowed" drive or something like that. Then we get the attention of folks not involved with dinar/iraq speculation. I am not sure how that works so I am not sure if it is the best option for this. Just a suggestion. Ugh, not "no-soliciting". This is one time when the "don't mention other sites and stuff is no bueno. I was trying to refer to Geux Phund Mi. Sheesh.
  7. P****d off women with some combat training and toting AK-47s and avenging Yazidi deaths... I'd run, too! Praying their hearts remain focused and their aim remains true!
  8. As of 1455 CDT, fluctuating between 1132 and 1139 over at XE.com. That is actually some of the most favorable rates over the last several years.
  9. Just as well, PB. Seems like it has been a rather quiet week since Adam's last update. Hopefully the calm before the storm. But in a good way!
  10. Just wondering if that was happening this week. Noticed there weren't many questions logged this time around. I did see an earlier post from him that indicated he was on a weird time schedule and might not have reliable internet connections.
  11. Seems to me this thread's title out to read, "Rumor has it...Parliament has stopped."
  12. Always being hopeful, but it occurs to me that what is "important" to the GOI is not necessarily (or even likely to be) important to us at this website. Just don't freak out if they suddenly decide to increase pension payouts or announce Maliki is outta there, or whatnot.
  13. To misquote MacBeth, "An Iraqi parliament session is like a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, yet signifying nothing." Describes the opinions of most of the "gurus" as well...
  14. And which one is the cat? You or Adam?
  15. I work at a major us bank. As is usual at all large companies there are web proxy servers in place to monitor the sites you visit. Until this Sunday, I never had a problem reaching dinarvets. Now I am immediately rerouted to a canned statement page stating this is a malicious phishing site. after a few seconds I am further routed to a "slap on the hand" page that reminds me not to visit those types of sites And that my browsing is carefully monitored. I find the timing of this change, the identity of my employer and the recent goi/cbi rumblings interesting, though not necessarily connected.
  16. Cbi: hey, Citigroup, you are being ordered to apply international accounting process! CG: what? Cbi: don't pretend to playing stupid! You must apply the best you have to offer! CG: awww! Why? We've always applied the worst we have to offer, on Thursdays! This sucks! Cbi: you know as well as we do that the scale and the ability audit must now be completed. This takes the best you have to offer!! CG: ohhh yeah, that's right. Ok. We'll be in touch soon...
  17. "Pretty soon!" "Right around the corner" "almost there" "This is it" "Huge news" And then there's Buzzy's text. Until I see that, none of the above matters. After I see that, none of the above matters... ;-)
  18. MIT, that's a pretty tight spread you have there. Or is that 1IQD to 1USD? For some reason I tend to lean towards the .86 - .90 IDQ - 1USD, but as long as we're in the 3-to-1 or better, I will be happy.
  19. So we all know that Iraq is seeking the credit rating and that there is to be a jumbo bond issue. My question is timing. The bond issue comes after the credit rating, so that investors will have some idea what the bonds are worth, And the credit rating comes after an RV? I mean, how useful would a credit rating be for a country still using programmed exchange rates and a currency only useful inside its borders? If this is the case, when would the credit rating be likely assessed? You have to assume that an RV would come at or before that time. So that might help to determine when a hypothetical RV might occur.
  20. Wiz, you had me at, "The caps/limits were outlined..."
