so would that be $10K leaving the US to declare. The value of the Rial currently is low even for 5 mil. It's not $10k. However, exchanged to US it would be many million(hopefully). I think I would still declare it just so there was no forfeiture. It would be so much easier if the US would drop the sanctions.......

so, what other countries banks are in the US now? Seems we could cash in with them and their currency and then their currency to dollars.

from most the articles I've seen posted have one thing in common. They are still cautious and leary of moving forward with the US sanctions in place. The $ is still king.

this country constantly is screaming for financial help from the world and they get it yet they can't seem to get the business done that is needed for this country to move forward. I say cut them off from any future funding till ALL laws are done and its BAU. It's amazing they have the brains to get out of bed in the morning. -
hoping...........

from what I understand, the initial 400 mil was in multiple currencies and in cash. They said that wire transfers couldnt be done. then they go and give them 1.3 bil a few days later and it was wired. what???

last line says Japan lifted all sanctions in order to do business with Iran. So is the US the only country that still has financial sanctions?

I think anything to do with the middle east is a hot topic. Especially Iraq and Iran with all the coverage in the last few months. Probably thought you were a Fed....lol

something about the amount of currency and the possibility of drug money etc.......

I think theres a gotcha in this though. I may be wrong but something about the exchange with Euro's/dollars from another currency. If a country has sanctions, there more hoops or walls in the way. Otherwise, if this popped, you could just fly to a different country, change to euros, come home and exchange euros to $. Of course, you'd need a steamer trunk to care all the euros so a euros bank draft would be needed. Another thing is even getting out of the US with this Rial on a plane. Won't TSA try to take it? Many concerns here. Even with that, just ordered more.

almost all the EU nations have re-established full relations with Iran. The US's is the only holdout and that is for a $ banking trade. Not sure if that will stop anything because Iran seems to do whatever it wants to do.
