I respectfully disagree with a good portion of your rationale. I, and I believe many others that are in this investment that have watched this thing go on since the elections, do not believe that the delay has anything to do with what is best for Iraq or its citizens. I honestly believe that the delays have been manufactured by self-serving politicians who are more concerned with their own greed than they are about their people. How else could one explain that these goofball politicians continually place their own interests above the interests of the Iraqi people that are living with little or no water, power, sanitation facilities, etc. Most of us that have been invested for a while understood and accepted that this was probably a long term investment. I think very few of us thought that the delays would be exacerbated by politicians that have spent the grand total of 18 minutes and now, finally, 90 minutes in trying to resolve the problems of their country.

In my opinion, you are being totally naive if you believe that this has dragged on because they, the pols, have been more concerned about their countrymen than lining their own pockets and retaing their power hold on the government.

Now, I will stand down and allow the bashing to begin.

I spoke with my CR attorney this afternoon and here is what I was told.

1. Any non CR citizen doing any type of financial tansaction in CR has their thumb print taken.

2. According to the attorney, the U.S. government has been relentless in their desire to know the financial ongoings of US citizens in CR and the CR banks are cooperating.

3. Long story short. Costa Rica is not a viable option for cashing in the IQD for US citizens.

If you look back in our not too distant history, America was revered and feared most when we stuck to the values of our forefathers. Not tolerating despots, dictators or political ideologies that have since been proven to fail. When this great nation of ours sheds the "we have to be liked" mentality only then will we regain our previous strength and standing in the world. As a cold war era veteran that served under Reagan and Bush it is disheartening at times to witness what we have become. I have faith in our system and I pray that come this November our newly elected politicians will have the grit to move forward and stand up to the mess that has been created over the past years.
