  1. So glad you made it through the ordeal! Glad you have a wonderful lady at your side and glad the Lord just wasn't ready to call you home yet. The experience you described had to change your life and all the lives of those who love you. God Bless You and Yours!
  2. Rating Action: Moody's assigns provisional rating of (P)Caa1 to Government of Iraq's USD bond issuance; Outlook stable Global Credit Research - 20 Sep 2015. ( please note date) Frankfurt am Main, September 20, 2015 -- Moody's Investors Service (Moody's) has today assigned a provisional rating of (P)Caa1 to Government of Iraq's planned USD-bond issuance with a stable outlook. The rating was initiated by Moody's Investors Service and was not requested by the rated entity. It is being assigned ahead of planned issuance of USD-denominated debt by the Iraqi government in the United States under Rule 144A. Moody's expects to remove the provisional status of the rating upon the closing of the proposed issuance and a review of its final terms............... https://www.moodys.com/research/Moodys-assigns-provisional-rating-of-PCaa1-to-Government-of-Iraqs--PR_334915 So, I suppose the economy has improved enough since 2015 that Moody's feel ok moving from a provisional rate to an actual rate?? How in heck could the economy have been considered "stable" in 2015.
  3. I never had a doubt in my mind that this weasel had an ulterior motive for going to Russia. Maliki wants the U.S. out of Iraq so he, Iran, Syria & Russia can control the Middle East. I am really concerned that Abadi will be assassinated before the next election by someone wanting this alliance. Why Maliki is still standing is beyond my understanding. If someone doesn't put him down there won't be political stability in Iraq and we need that. All jmho. I'll climb off my soapbox now. ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜Š
  4. I love it when they talk this way. โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  5. Yep, aren't we fortunate that Al invented the Internet????????????????????? NOT Now he did invent Climate Change, I will give him THAT, but that belongs in another forum
  6. The great global warming hustle Charles Campbell July 19, 2017 4:25 P.M. For environment ideologues, The Donald has ensured destruction of the world by removing the U.S. from the 2015 Paris climate accord. The key for global warming proponents is the increase in carbon dioxide (CO2) content in air from 200 parts per million during the ice age to 400 parts per million in 2013. CO2 is a clear harmless odorless tasteless gas expelled by every human and also a product of burning fossil fuels. In spite of a growing U.S. population, President Barack Obama pledged a reduction in CO2 production of 26 percent below 2005 levels by 2025, which would have a minuscule effect on global CO2; require draconian enforcement measures; damage the U.S. economic structure; and accelerate the rise of China, the worldโ€™s most prolific producer of CO2. China only pledged to peak CO2 production by 2030 with no targeted reductions. It is Chinaโ€™s strategy to overtake the U.S. economically, militarily and politically. From 1996 through 2015 global temperatures remained essentially flat, despite predictions of a rise by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Forecasts of rising sea levels have also failed to match reality. Melting Arctic sea ice does not increase liquid volume. Melting ice from land masses does increase global sea levels. About 90 percent of the worldโ€™s glacial ice is on Antarctica which shows no net decrease in ice cover. In a Kafkaesque setting, the entire worldโ€™s economy and standard of living is being threatened by a technically challenged political elite in a global hustle using IPCC models, which are grossly flawed. The IPCC refutes any scientific findings that suggest that global warming is not exclusively due to increased CO2 production from the burning of fossil fuels. In reality, 99.98 percent of the total energy contribution to the earthโ€™s climate originates from the sun. Solar irradiation is not constant but varies slightly in repeating cycles, which bring about significant climate change. Sunspots are an indication of solar activity and the strength of the sunโ€™s magnetic field, which forms a protective shield against the bombardment of cosmic rays streaming in from space. The weaker the field, the more cosmic rays that can reach earth. Cosmic rays influence cloud formation and are the most consistent factor in identifying the sunโ€™s current effect on climate. During the last two decades, sunspot activity has drastically diminished, and the earth may now be at the beginning of the next solar hibernation cycle โ€” i.e. less energy from the sun, more cosmic rays and global cooling. A lull in sunspot activity has some global-warming skeptics speculating the sun may be on the verge of an extended slumber, resulting in a cooler climate. Most physicists are doubtful. In the top photos, the sun is shown near solar maximum July 19, 2000, and near solar minimum March 18, 2009. In the bottom photos, ultraviolet imagery shows solar activity on the same days. (NASA) Western civilization, with a vastly improved standard of living since 1800 and the Industrial Revolution, is tied totally to burning fossil fuel. The per capita consumption of resources by the industrialized worldโ€™s 1 billion people is 30 times that used by the poorest 1 billion living on $2 per day, where 30,000 children die every day from diseases related to malnutrition and fouled water. By 2100, the worldโ€™s population will increase 50 percent. China and Indiaโ€™s nearly 3 billion people are rapidly moving toward western levels of energy use. Assuming an increase in the standard of living for the 1 billion people living on the margin, the worldโ€™s energy consumption will be two to four times todayโ€™s level in 2100. Today 85 percent of the worldโ€™s energy mix is produced by burning fossil fuel. Erratic and unpredictable sun/wind installations only provide 2 percent and require fossil fuel backup to ensure reliable power supplies when the sun isnโ€™t shining or the wind isnโ€™t blowing. Sun/wind systems cannot provide base load power. France has the worldโ€™s only coherent energy strategy. In the 1970s the French instituted a massive program to convert their power generation from imported oil and local coal to nuclear power. In parallel they launched a high speed electric rail system to replace air and auto travel. Today 75 percent of French power is nuclear. They reprocess their spent fuel rods, drastically reducing nuclear waste. They import natural gas and slowly reduced their use of coal to avoid social turmoil for their mine workers. Franceโ€™s high-speed TGV train now is at the center of a European-wide high speed rail service. French CO2 production is one-third of the U.S.โ€™s on a per capita basis. China is adopting the French nuclear/rail strategy. If reducing CO2 is necessary, we should follow the French strategy augmented by Tesla electric cars, and spend our time countering Chinaโ€™s moves; increasing the living standard of the least fortunate 1 billion people and, ultimately, saving the children. 7. I see a lot of job opportunities for the Iraqis who want to obtain the skills and want to work. Iraq can now have a very bright future if Iran, Syria, ISIS, & ugly corruption don't interfere. There is nothing to stop them from being another Dubai except themselves.
  8. If I recall correctly, Abadi tried to eliminate the Vice President positions but Masum ruled the move to be unconditional so now waiting on the House of Representatives to change the constitution. Am I close??
  9. I will sell the tickets and serve the refreshments. The ticket sales may correct the budget deficit without the IMF's help. ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Š
  10. Totally agree and it poignantly points to the mean and fanatic nature of this group and it has nothing to do with religion. They are a sick bunch of people.
  11. Well, I certainly think it would have to be an Internationally traded currency at the very least. And, what is in it for foreign banks if the currency isn't worth anything? Maybe I'm missing some finer points??
  12. I'm watching this movie, Captain Phillips. If you aren't familiar with it, it is about the cargo ships being pirated in the east by Somalia pirates. Know how 5 or 6 pirates were able to pirate a ship's crew???? The cargo ship wasn't allowed guns on the ship!!!! The pirates had plenty of guns and knew these ships did not, so fairly easy pickings. The same principle applies to this country imho. Just venting๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ™„
  13. Yes, and the "Hollywood" crowd would be the first ones beheaded because of their "sins against Allah" but the lefty loonies are too ignorant/stupid to realize it.
  14. Well, well, now we know that all they had to do to settle the ISIS terrorism was to just play nicer. Sheesh ๐Ÿ˜ก
  15. Iran, my patooty, it was the U.S. led coalition. That bunch over there did not become an elite force to accomplish this in just 3 years imho. I understand why Iraq is taking the credit, but it irritates me to no end for Iran to take the credit. Ok, I got this off my chest. ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜€
  16. NewYork, do you mind giving your source of your supplements? It appears you have an awesome regimen and I would like to mimic it as much as possible. Thanks
  17. The IMF, World Bank, Trump, and the U.N. may just expedite that "study". ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜Ž
  18. Yep, one thing that comes to mind is that before, as I recall, Barzani and delegation went to Baghdad to discuss oil. This is the first time in my memory that Baghdad went to Kurdistan. Huge news IMO.
  19. It is always intriguing to me when I read of any kind joint business deal between Kuwait and Iraq. I believe presently Iraq uses the dollar for international business (if I am wrong about this, let me know ๐Ÿ˜Š) but doubt Kuwait does. My intrigue is when their deals go forward, how will it work if their currency isn't equalized?
  20. The infallible Maliki emphasize the need for the reconstruction of the liberated areas No kidding Sherlock! ๐Ÿ˜ The world really needs YOU to tell us this. There would have been a lot less damage, if any at all, if you had not been such a despot!
