Wow...I check in ~ once every couple years just to see if I'll read something different, and I hardly ever enter a comment...but it looks like same 'ole same 'ole...I remember when they held their first election and the purple fingers were the indication of the imminent RV...that was quite a while ago...and it's been nothing but "the next thing" which was going to be the big event that finally made it happen...Chapter 7 release, debt forgiveness, next president, beating ISIS, HCL agreement (which is comical because they've had that thing "done" several different times even though it's been years since I first heard the term and how critical it was to the RV). Don't get me wrong gang. I'm a dreamer to, and probably dumped way to much into this thing nearly 15 years ago (30 million Dinar...that I paid to much for at the time, and then eventually a premium to transport and deposit them into a Warka bank account). Just wish the dream would finally come true.

Take a couple months away, and come back to see kooks like this still post these "my cousin's boyfriend's sister's hairdresser with the inside connection to the Pope, who golfs regularly with Shabs" stories. Never a shred of evidence. Pay off the national debt??? Us??? Are you frickin serious? You had me until that one...good grief. Well, it's been several months since I felt the urge, but I'd heard through the grapevine of the group I invested with that the shaving of three zeros was almost a certainty, in conjunction with an RV. So I had to stop in and see what the mood was here on DV. Same old same old (looks like it could be right around the corner...again...for like the 8th year running). But I can believe it this time. Unfortunately, without the leverage of millions of IQD, it's not the winner I was looking (hoping) for. God I hope my logic is flawed, and this thing really does happen at a one USD to one IQD ratio (without LOP). Have they finally passed HCL and/or seated their government yet?

wow...I think your pastor needs to tamp it down...getting the flock excited will lead to broken hearts and eventually lost sheep...I've had 7 years on this ride, and have learned the hard way...but still love to keep reading...waiting...looking...for that one verifiable post that means this thing is ACTUALLY going to happen...still looking hint: when ever you read statements like "IT HAS TO" or "THEY HAVE TO" - that translates to "I really hope it is so, but I can't logically and factually prove it"...and to answer your questions "who does he know that people here don't" and "how deep is his intel" - those answers, respectively, would be "lots of people but none with any knowldege of the IQD RV", and "zero" (as will be proven shortly)

When I first bought in ~ 7 years ago, I was told that the new currency was being exchanged 1 for 1 with the old currency, and that the old currency was last "valued" at $.31 after all the years of sanctions and inflation. But based upon all the conflicting reports I've read over the years, that has never been fully vetted/proven. So, best guess, everybody in Iraq is made "whole" at $.31 and that's where it is introduced. Timing? Please. I've been told "right after _________" and/or "very soon" off and on for 7 years now. Nobody has ever been able to lay out a defined process or series of steps that has held up and proven to be true. So that means there isn't one. It's at the whim of a few select men (Shabs, and top GOI leaders).

I like the enthusiasm Kenny, but you might be a bit premature on a couple points. The "whole" government is not quite set up (took 9 months after the election to get where we are now, and they still don't have 100% of the key posts agreed to yet), debts are being paid but there is still plenty of debt left to be retired, chapter 7 is not totally "taken care of" either as far as the Kuwaiti's are concerned, and Iraq's currency is not worthless (I believe you can get one million IQD for 1170 USD, and I seem to recall countries like Mexico have operated under similar circumstances). Just sayin...

Why will they lose so much money if it doesn't happen by 12/31? I certainly hope you are not referring to any "deadlines" that trigger penalties. The translation for "deadline" to Iraqis = "a date which you are compelled to ignore because there will be no follow through on the threat". I've been in this game for 7 years and have literally lost track of all the 'deadlines' that were going to trigger the RV.

What 4 or 5 places did you get that information from?

As my teen age kids would say "OMG"...your are to frickin funny...do people actually believe this stuff? OK Marcus and Lgraham...I surrender...good work...I like the links and logic...and my brain is now mush...could be all the midnight laptop reading, or the Jim Beam...but feeling better about life as I head to bed...and still skeptical of anything happening "fast" in the Middle East, but willing to wait another another year (it's been 7, so what's another one gonna hurt?)...

Help me understand what that means EBJ. I don't know if that means you think it's good or bad for us. What is the truth, and how would you/we know? I don't want to throw cold water on any ideas, but I'm not much into conspiracy theories. What can be proven?

OK...so I had a "mini obsession" today and spent a couple hours trying to figure out what happened by reading many threads and reviewing Adam's chat that was posted...net net - another hurdle (Kuwait, and maybe more)...as always, we're close, but....not quite...maybe soon, but...maybe not. So here's the conundrum. If Iraq can't RV because of Kuwait not cooperating, and Kuwait won't cooperate because they want to amass lower valued IQD before it pops (sort of like pre-IPO stock) - then that stalemate is virtually never broken (in US terms). We're talking Middle Eastern culture hear. They're happy to wait an entire generation to win an argument.

Thanks Halo. You have to forgive me. I do remember hearing/reading about that a few weeks back, but you also have to understand. I'm into this thing for 7 years now, and for several millions of IQD (enough to check out, if you know what I mean). I've been "obsessed" about it off and on several times during those 7 years (we're talking up all night doing website and forum research...multiple times). And there have often been "big" events which were going to tip the balance to make the RV happen. It's been so many times over the years now that I've learned to take these announcements with a boulder of salt. Don't mean to sound like eeyore from Winnie the Pooh, but I probably come off that way. But believe me - nobody wants it more than me. Some gal (Sophie??) kind of wacked me verbally for this question. But it was legit, as am I. Hope it happens this time. I think my frustration is that after all this time, nobody can tell me the process and the exact check list so that it can be accomplished. I come from a professional and process oriented background, so the logical question is "if nobody can explain the precise process, then how can it ever be accomplished?". There's always "one more hurdle" under that scenario (as I've experienced with this deal).

Sorry for sounding so ignorant, but I don't get to the site on a regular basis. What is up with tomorrow? Why (or what) is supposed to be happening tomorrow?
