After the bombs, Iraqi musician shows up with his cello
Minotaur replied to SocalDinar's topic in Iraq & Dinar Related News
Play on, friend. Raise a new Iraq from the ashes. -
Thanks for your response gymrat. I am looking for men (or women) over the age of retirement who feel they are capable of work and want to do what they can to protect our nation from this violence much like those who weren't considered for military service in WWII but volunteered for non-combat services. Just looking to "put my money where my mouth (and heart) is (are)". Minotaur

A Call for the Graybeard Support Brigade Are any of you in this group willing to consider volunteering to become a member of a support group, The Graybeard Brigade, in the current conflict with radical islam? If you are, as I am, over sixty-five years of age and have grandchildren who might become cannon fodder in the struggle with this resident evil, and you believe God, regardless of the name you give him, respects the man who tries to reflect tolerance but is not willing to ignore a threat to his progeny, let me hear from you. We may be hampered by the trials and tribulations that come with aging, but we are not without value in this struggle. We are still capable of providing support in administrative and logistical functions, as well as other more menial tasks. I don't suggest we pick up sword and shield, but rather the pen, the plow, the broom or shovel, the spatula. Free our young men of these tasks so they may provide the shield protecting our women and children from this threat. This will be a volunteer group. No pay – with the possible exception of a minimal subsistence. We shared the rewards of an affluent society paid for by the blood, sweat, and tears of our parents, the “Greatest Generation”. It is time to pass the favor on to our grandchildren. Will you stand with me? Mike Doyle aka 'Minotaur' Grandfather of - Ashley, Tim, Brooke, Carter, & Ethan Doyle, and Cheyenne Bergstrom - children of my children. Proud to watch each of them go forth into the world. email: mike@mikeddoyle.com; Cell phone: (951) 249-1905

Time for a little political honesty
Minotaur replied to desimo's topic in Politics, 2nd Amendment (Gun Control)
Amen! The problem is that the issues of which you speak are not and should not be seen as political issues, Right or Left. They are American issues that impact each and everyone of us. It does appear that it is too late for healing. Surgery is probably the only solution. If we had paid attention, the founding fathers foretold this outcome if we adopted party system politics. -
Accept one more heartfelt prayer for your extended family members. It may be a little gesture, but . . . it is truly from the heart.

Warka bringing a lawsuit against the Central Bank of Iraq
Minotaur replied to JustNTime's topic in Iraq & Dinar Related News
I know I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I have this feeling that there is a great deal of jumping-to-conclusions going on here. 1. I don't see where Reuters said Warka was insolvent. I only see what appears to be the reporting of a statement of "a senior official of the CBI" to wit: "Iraq's central bank placed private bank Warka Bank under guardianship to supervise it through insolvency, a senior official in the central bank said on Sunday."[undocumented heresay] 2. The reference to 90 million dollars is stale news from August of last year. It refers to a requirement that Warka increase its capital to meet goals established by CBI. It does not say there is a 90 million dollar loss on the books of Warka. There maybe something to this story . . . I don't know. But it appears that most of the discussion claiming Warka's insolvency is based on a patchwork of a fact from here and a statement from there. They may be connected, they may not. I just wish you would quit calling the death of my golden calf on such loosely associated "facts". It ain't over until the fat lady sings, and I haven't even heard her warming up, yet. Peace and prosperity to all, MINOTAUR -
Doc31, I am not much of a contributor . . . actually not much of a talker - and I certainly am clueless as to where our investment is going. But, that said, I had to come on long enough to echo the THANKS of some of the many of us who really looked forward to your posts. Your input keep many of us going. Perhaps, some day - Un bel dei - we will finally be able to celebrate. My very best thoughts and wishes to you and yours. Minotaur

Sorry . . . that article, published on RiteOn.org, was retracted. Apparently Dr. Williams did not write it. You can find the retraction at http://riteon.org/. I contacted the publisher and received the following reply: Mike, I received a message directly from Dr Williams and he told me he did not write it and did not want it circulated because he disagreed with it and was not the author. Chuck... Publisher, RiteOn.org ------ Not saying it isn't a valid argument, just that it has been attributed to the wrong author.
