  1. The title of this post is misleading. To me, "Chapter 7 lifted" means that chapter 7 has been lifted, not just a comment about when Chapter 7 is lifted.
  2. My birthday is July 26th, and since I'll have lived 75 years on that date, I'm feeling lucky. So I vote yes!!
  3. Bless their hearts!! They sounds like great people.
  4. Wouldn't it be a great joke if it comes through later today?
  5. It's nice to hear an Iraqi express gratitude and say that they owe us for their armed forces and the modernization of their country. I hope he also intended to say that they owe our brave American soldiers for helping to bring their entire culture into this century. They still have a long way to go, but at least they aren't still stuck in the 7th Century, thanks to the Americans, Australians, Brits and other brave members of the coalition.
  6. I just hope they are open and ready to go in the USA tomorrow.
  7. You probably wouldn't have heard of this. Neither Gates nor a 3-star general would go to the bank and stand in line, either here OR in Iraq. But they may have had to go to Iraq to cash out in person in order to get that Tier 2 higher $$ amount before Tier 3 folks (like you and me) get to cash out tomorrow at a lower rate. I pray so, anyway.
  8. I'm there. Gas in the car--ready for the "cashout" trip to the bank--
  9. Okie is probably full of it, but wrong or not, I like him. I always have. I can't account for this nor explain it--other than to say I just like him. haha
  10. I'm a far cry from an authority, and someone wiser than me in this matter will probably answer better, but my first thought is that Korea doesn't have the natural resources that Iraq has. Perhaps that's why Iraq can support (afford) more prosperity.
  11. She's quite a lady, highly respected and very knowledgable, plus she is a tremendously nice person. I've never heard a single person say anything bad about her. But I have seen some pretty tough dudes stop whatever they're saying and pay attention when she walks into a room.
  12. I understand wanting to take time out and focus on other parts of your life. But keep the faith--this will happen soon. And when it does, all the time you spent here will be worth every moment of it. Take care. And come back whenever you want.

  14. I like Okie. I always have. He tries to be uplifting, even when he is throwing his **** into the wind. Besides, he keeps giving me hope and making me laugh.
  15. Please, Sara, I would love a badge, but am techno-inept, and I can't figure out how to get a picture to you. Thanks much, Francie26
  16. Just received this in e-mail. Sounds good to me. None of the additions are mine. I posted it just as I received it. Looks like tomorrow may be our big DAY!!! ABUNDANCE DAY!!! Subject: Security Council welcomes Iraq’s assumption of oversight over development fund Security Council welcomes Iraq’s assumption of oversight over development fund http://www.un.org/ap...07&Cr=iraq&Cr1= Print Email Share43 Security Council welcomes Iraq’s assumption of oversight over development fund. This had to be done before they could RV!! 30 June 2011 – (this is what they must have been doing all day Thursday!!!) The Security Council today welcomed the Iraqi Government’s assumption of full autonomy, with effect from tomorrow, over the proceeds of a development fund set up after the 2003 United States-led invasion to meet the country’s humanitarian needs, economic reconstruction and infrastructure repairs. In a press statement, the Council welcomed the Government’s establishment of a successor arrangement for the transition of the Development Fund for Iraq, in line with the United Nations body’s resolution 1956, adopted last year. “The members of the Security Council noted that, in this regard, oversight of the full proceeds from the Development Fund for Iraq has been transferred from the International Advisory and Monitoring Board to the Government of Iraq’s Committee of Financial Experts, which will exercise authority in accordance with its terms of reference approved by Iraq’s Council of Ministers,” according to the statement, read out by Ambassador Alfred Moungara Moussotsi of Gabon, which holds the Council’s presidency in June. The Council reiterated its appreciation of the ongoing efforts and commitment of the Iraqi Government to ensure that oil revenues are used in the interest of the country’s people, and to ensure that transition arrangements remain consistent with the constitution and with international best practices with regard to transparency, accountability and integrity. “The members of the Security Council underscored the importance of Iraq’s continued compliance with relevant [security Council] resolutions,” the statement added. The Council set up the trust fund in May 2003 so that oil and other revenues could be paid into it, to be disbursed at the discretion of the then US-led Provisional Authority for humanitarian and economic reconstruction, replacing the previous oil-for-food programme that allowed the sanctions-bound government of Saddam Hussein to use some oil revenues for the monitored purchase of humanitarian supplies. 17. You are sooooo pathetic!! Nothing better to do than to sit around online and come here whining. Sheesh!! Go find your mommy. Maybe she can put you to work doing something productive, like mowing the lawn or cleaning the basement, or something.
  18. WayCool, JR, sounds like an uninformed, belligerent teenager who simply has no clue what he is talking about, but still insists on blabbering foolishly in the presence of informed adults, a sure way to show his ignorance to those who know better. WC, as to your lack of belief in God, the world has too much of that which is amazing and lovely to have materialized out of nothing without the guiding hand of a loving creator. So when you begin chuckling foolishly because other people have faith in a Divine Creator, your behavior reveals how little you have learned in this life. You are simply showing your ignorance--or worse.
  19. Well, I've seen your comment before, too--also nothing new!!!
  20. How pathetic!! The forces of evil sometimes wear the garb of a false belief. If what you believe demands that you deride that which others believe, even when it slightly touches on yours, then perhaps your religion is far too narrow and shallow for the God of the entire Universe. That God can easily swallow up vipers, including your own sad narrow faith.
  21. I want the RV this week, but I think asking the "then what?" question now is what we used to call "being a little previous." I don't need the answer to that this week, and I don't want to prepare myself for facing that yet. Doing so would dilute my pleasure and excitement about the RV happening this week. People who want me to be "reasonable" usually mean they want me to anticipate the worst. Seems to me that people who need to fix their hopes and expections on "what if?" are trying to cover themselves ahead of time for an expected loss, and frankly, I've found that disappointment finds me. I don't have to go looking for it. And I'm sure not going to choose to feel a major disappointment in advance. Hope this makes sense, but I have this once-in-a-lifetime event coming, and I am sure not going to dilute the pleasure of it with thoughts that it may not happen. Each thing in its own time, and if I have to feel disappointment, there is time to do so after we learn the bad news that will trigger it. Until then, I am not going there. I'm just going to believe the RV is absolutely going to happen and feel happy, happy, happy until it gets here (next week).
  22. An interesting paper on the history of various nations' currency revaluations. Well-researched. Found on that proverbial "another site." http://www.unc.edu/~...APSA%202005.pdf
  23. There is a fine line between expressing reality and tromping on the dreams of others with hobnail boots. And unfortunately, many self-proclaimed reality-pushers are so negative that they have no clue or simply don't care where that line is.
