  1. Hi Adam! I read Kaperoni's chats and for the last several weeks he has presented quotes from the World Bank and IMF from various articles and reports regarding Iraq's need to update their current investment and securities laws. Kap truly believes the updating of these laws is the key to the RV. When I read the articles and Kaperoni's interpretation, it's seems very compelling and logical. Yet, I don't hear of any other credible source even mentioning this. Everyone is all about HCL, Chap 7 etc... What is your opinion regarding the need for Iraq to re-write/update their investment and securities laws and how these could possibly relate to the RV? Thanks so much for your time!
  2. Excuse me, but why in the hell is a federal judge interfering in this matter in the first place?!
  3. Yes, this turns the heat up now and the pressure is ON! But honestly, the longer we stay in Iraq the longer they sit around and get NOTHING DONE! Our pending RV is too far along for it to just fall to the way-side. It's not like they're still in the beginning stages of studying this and trying to figure out whether this would be a good move for Iraq or not. Yes, this is about Iraq, but it has now become about the rest of the world as well....or else the IMF wouldn't be backing Shabbs and putting the pressure on him to get it done. There has also been way too much media coverage on this to turn back and let the rate stay at 1170. Not to mention all the bank restructuring that has been done and still continues to be done AND all the investing happening in Iraq My opinion on Iran: They are not going to invade Iraq. Listen to what Ahmadinejad is saying: He's obsessed (and I mean obsessed) with wiping out Israel and US! That's what his last U.N. speech was about. He might be attempting to "woo" Iraq in order to create an Islamic caliphate...but invasion, no. If you're a US citizen (like myself), I'd be watching my own back when it comes to Iran...along with North Korea
  4. I've listened to Rand Paul on a number of issues and I love him!
  5. Maliki is a classic narcissist. He is so ego driven. It's always about him!
  6. I am so over all the small minded, negative crap that some people can't help but spew. Bondlady, I appreciate you and all the effort you put behind your work!
  7. i wasn't quite sure what to make of it either. It's great information, but does it mean that these things need to be implemented before they RV? I don't know.
  8. kaperoni: Sit on your hands and no typing during chat. If you do, the mods will remove/kick you from the room. kaperoni: Let’s get started. kaperoni: Today’s chat is about this past weekends Imf and World Bank meetings which included Iraq. kaperoni: Both of these organizations are no-nonsense. After watching several of the videos released, they expect these countries to implement the action plans they sign off on without delay. That being said, lets take a look at the recent Republic of Iraq Financial Sector Review. kaperoni: I am going to quote from the Quick Notes… kaperoni: The first paragraph says it all… kaperoni: “The link between sound and well-developed financial systems and economic growth is fundamental. Efficient and prudent allocation of resources by the financial system is critical for increasing productivity, boosting economic development, enhancing equality of opportunity, and reducing poverty.” kaperoni: Here is the second quote... kaperoni: “The financial sector in Iraq remains underdeveloped and underperforming.” kaperoni: And this one… kaperoni: “The difficult security situation imposes costs and constraints, the complex political situation impedes decisive policy action, governance issues linger, and the impact of state intervention continues despite reforms.” kaperoni: I think that pretty much sums up what the conditions are like in Iraq. We all have read numerous articles for over a year now, telling us the same thing. kaperoni: Now in regard to the states two largest banks here are three quotes… kaperoni: “rafidain and Rasheed Banks, the two largest state banks, are inefficient and both suffer from the legacy of past losses, as well as from performing quasi fiscal operations. “ kaperoni: “reforms have been significantly delayed, especially compared to the time-line in the 2006 memorandum of Understanding (mou) between the Cbi and the Ministry of Finance. “ kaperoni: And a last quote... kaperoni: And this is a good one... kaperoni: “The reform process needs to be accelerated, including removing disputed items from their balance sheets and transferring these to a new asset/liability management company.” kaperoni: So we can see at this point these banks are still need additional reforms. But they reconized they need to get this done Asap kaperoni: The document then talks about the smaller private banks describing them… kaperoni: “staff skills are often weak, the range of services provided by many banks is still limited, and loans are mainly short term loans related to wholesale and retail trade.” kaperoni: And in some cases… kaperoni: “CBI officials question the professionalism of private banks” kaperoni: One article said some of these banks also sell cars…lol kaperoni: Another comment… kaperoni: “there are concerns that banks may be weaker than they appear.” kaperoni: Which Imo is good for us…as an Rv should and will help them. kaperoni: Another comment… kaperoni: “most banks appear to be well capitalized,” kaperoni: That seems to imply that the banks have lots of dinar on hand kaperoni: . I can only assume the new smaller bills once the Rv takes place. kaperoni: Now the next quote is directly stated towards the financial system.. kaperoni: “weak financial infrastructure is a clear impediment to access to finance in Iraq.” kaperoni: This confirms that is very difficult to get your profits our of iraq if you’re an investor. Which of course does include the dinar exchange rate. kaperoni: Another quote… kaperoni: “improving accounting and auditing skills and eventually moving to international standards are particularly important.” kaperoni: And another… kaperoni: This is a good one... kaperoni: “The authorities must also undertake a concerted effort to improve the business environment and to strengthen the real economy.” kaperoni: One can wonder how is that possible without the revaluation? kaperoni: Now the next part if key, and I think goes to the reforms and pending revaluation… kaperoni: The supervision of the banks… kaperoni: “A full expert-assisted self-assessment of the supervisory system, based on the Basel Core Principles and the 2006 assessment methodology, is required to further align the system to international standards.” kaperoni: And this next one is good… kaperoni: “there are three prerequisites for the cbi to be able to fully deploy effective supervision: (i) ensuring the political will to let the Cbi perform its tasks without interference,” kaperoni: That is a direct shot at Maliki to butt out! kaperoni: And lastly from this summation, they state… kaperoni: “politically supported, robust, concerted efforts must be made to prevent abuse and undermining of the financial system through corruption, money laundering and the potential financing of terrorism.” kaperoni: Now from the Wb press release they state it pretty clear…kaperoni: “The report stresses the critical importance of the financial sector in modernizing the Iraqi economy and allowing it to reach its full potential.” kaperoni: And this one… kaperoni: “this is a fairly large agenda but ongoing reforms will facilitate the move forward with the Banking Sector Reform Strategy initiated by the Iraqi government in 2009,” kaperoni: To summarize these two documents…. kaperoni: The Cbi has been told to implement international regulations, international standards, international practices, etc. They have been told to implement there public information campaign..which clearly we are reading about almost daily at this point in regard to the banks, the value and the new notes. They have stated clearly…goi stay out of the Cbi business. kaperoni: They conclude their recommendations by stating… kaperoni: “create a clear mechanism and obvious instructions for the transition of the Iraqi economy from the centralized economy to a market-oriented economy.” kaperoni: Do you all see that? kaperoni: Wow that is good stuff! kaperoni: Now, to go back to my first comments…the Imf, the World Banks are results oriented. With the current reforms/action plan in place, you can see there is a strong drive to finish this plan. kaperoni: Done.
  9. It's hard to tell....Adam says it hasn't passed as of yet. Also, when you stick this article in the google translator, it says, "will pass"

  11. I agree!!! I am beyond sick and tired of all the crap! I cannot believe how some people talk to each other
  12. Adam!!! Thanks for your input!!! I know the worst thing someone can do is get emotional about an investment...but admittedly, I'm getting emotional. Plus, I'm relatively new to the dinar. I've been invested for a year and a 1/2. but have only really followed the news since late spring of this year, so I'm still learning. And, I rely on a few people to help me learn. I kind of fell off the edge when Sonny said that in his chat! So I appreciate your explanation. I really don't believe they will lop, but the news has been VERY confusing. Thanks again!
  13. Hi sonny1! I apologize that I'm asking you to explain yourself, but admittedly I was taken back when I read your chat (specifically the line everyone is confused by...shabs wants to lop). I've always gotten the impression from the articles that Shabs wants to turn the Iraqi economy around and make the dinar more competitive and get it close to the $1 in terms of value, which if I understand things correctly, lopping doesn't do that. Am I wrong? Thanks for your time. I always look forward to hearing from you
  14. Alex38: I'll take your over-the-top excitement ANY day over all the negatives-nans on this site! I just logged on and your topic was listed to the right and I just laughed...too cool!! I'm super excited as well Blessings to you!!
  15. Hi Adam! Question: You've been in contact with your associates in the ME and they've confirmed the buzz regarding HCL and how GOI was supposedly trying to push it through. Now, the Kurds are objecting. Does this now throw a delay in the approval. The obvious answer to me seems to be yes.
  16. This is old news. I've purchased from GID Associates and have had no issues and great services. Others purchase from Tampa Dinar and Dinar Banker. All have had positive feedback
  17. I think it's interesting how Maliki walks out of Parliament today, and all the sudden the draft law is released to the media....? I think the side opposing Maliki is who sent it to the media.
  18. I don't get it! How can he agree to something a week ago...knowing what the NCSP is all about and knowing that Allawi is to head this council and now all the sudden disagrees with it and will attempt to block it!!!! I can understand things taking time to hash out and to negotiate. But, to say and agree with something and then literally do the opposite is infuriating!!!!!!
  19. what I'm praying for is that I don't hoard or covet the money. I truly want to do what the Lord wants me to do with the money. I long to hear the words..."Well done good and faithful servant".
  20. Then why don't you shred everyone that has posted in the rumors section? Which, btw, thats not how Med decimated the information in the first place. That's all I'm saying. I respect Adam and I do believe he knows what he's talking about. However, he's made some pretty hefty claims over the last month or so based on info from his contacts. He didn't do it in malice. He made his claims based on what he was told. If you go back and read Med's original chat, he was very cautious in relaying the info (that he's been holding onto for a week btw), and he felt like there was something about it that might be worth something I'm sick and tired of the blame game and the lack of personal responsibility. Like I said, no one is forcing you to believe a person's statements. With all due respect, Adam has been wrong, and he gets a pass. I don't get pissed at Adam...why should I?!
  21. I don't think I really understand the Erbil agreement. I mean, I know it's a coming together of the political sects in Iraq. I guess my question is: is it a process by which future legislation is past, therefore, is always in motion or in the implementing stage, or is there something about it that gives it finality? In other words, is there A certain something specific we're looking for in order to say "it's final, it's complete...it has been implemented". If that's the case, what would make it final, complete...implemented? Thanks for the help!
  22. No sh*t! I think the same thing!!! I get so tired of people coming on here and shredding other people. Med simply passed on a RUMOR, and he even prefaced it by saying it's a RUMOR! I personally don't think it's true because nothing has changed yet (no complete GOI, no HCL, etc...) BUT, I don't think Med's an idiot and should burn in hell for passing on a rumor that predicts tomorrow. Let's be honest with ourselves....we are all making predictions in our heads! These negative people make these bashing comments toward other people as if they were forced to believe whatever was said!
  23. Of course, nothing is final until it's final..But, I swear! They've had more meetings and a more robust checklist in the last week than in the last 3 months! Something is lighting a fire under their ass...?
  24. how ridiculous. The Sadrists want us out of Iraq, but fix the electricity on the way out!
