1. When I was there I. Saw officers paying out contracts to Iraqi businessmen for work done on the base. That money would then be used to pay their employees. I have seen over a million USD leave the base in one payment. Who's to say this officer didn't get tempted by that kind of money and skim a little off for himself. I was just working the front gate at the time but I sure looked at that money wishing I had some. Greed is powerful but he deserves his imprisonment. Officers should be the example for troops to follow, instead of showing what NOT to do.

 3. Sooo, what if I bought mine while on deployment to Iraq from a vendor on the base that gave me no reciept? Am I just out of luck? That was back in 2005 and they had no ATMs where I was. I had to get a cash advance to get my dinar. I am afraid that even though I have been invested for over 5 years, I'll have to pay the short term Capital Gains tax. Or, have the IRS just go nuts and take as much as they can. I guess thats what I get for not creating a paper trail.
 4. well O gave his two cents right here at the end so when it does happen he can take credit for being proactive in the formation of the Iraqi government
 5.
I was watching local abc news last night and they said most U.S. troops would be out of Iraq by the end of next month, the question I have is Iraq ready to handle this, will they be vulnerable without united states forces, I just dont see how Iraq can protect themselves without U.S. backing them.I wish they could all come home BUT I would hate to see all the progress made be shot to hell because Iraq is not prepared, military wise, financeually, poverty.....seems like they have come a long way, but is now the time for us to leave?
most by definition means more than half, we are still sending forces over there. a friend of mine just had a going away party be cause part of his division is headed back over. they may be replacing a large number of troops with a number less than half it's size but we are not going to have ALL forces out by the end of the month.
