Hello DV friends, A year ago today I started a thread that I was quitting smoking at the request of my youngest daughter. Well, I Made It !!!! I'm not starting this one to pat myself on the back or waste server space... I know this is a dinar site BUT If I can do it ( smoker for over 20 years ) than its a real possibility you CAN TOO.... I will admit it was not easy and I almost failed so many times... If you promise ( or pinky swear promise ) someone you're going to do something it makes you think twice about breaking it. Everytime I thought I was about to fail I just knew my Anna would be devastated if I did... My Advice: Pick a date in the near future and see if you can make it ( for the day ) without telling anyone.. If you fail please keep trying and continue to pick days you're going to go smoke free.... After a few successful attempts then set your quit date and post it here for that above promise... You'll have support... Pray this helps just one smoker,,, Jeff

Every time something like this happens the debates on gun control hit every type of forum on the web. If more attention was brought to mental illness we could avoid most of these tragedies. So not one person in James Holmes life took the time to report their concerns on he's behavior and activities??? Why?? Because we're all at fault... We are so about I and ME that we blame are 2nd amendment right other than the individual that clearly has a mental illness. Jovan needed help and the team knew that.. My kids ask for this every week it seems... They love it and so does the family. I double it and it never goes to waste. Delicious Ham and Potato Soup 3 1/2 cups peeled and diced potatoes 1/3 cup diced celery 1/3 cup finely chopped onion 3/4 cup diced cooked ham 3 1/4 cups water 2 tablespoons chicken bouillon granules 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste 1 teaspoon ground white or black pepper, or to taste 5 tablespoons butter 5 tablespoons all-purpose flour 2 cups milk Directions 1.Combine the potatoes, celery, onion, ham and water in a stockpot. Bring to a boil, then cook over medium heat until potatoes are tender, about 10 to 15 minutes. Stir in the chicken bouillon, salt and pepper. 2.In a separate saucepan, melt butter over medium-low heat. Whisk in flour with a fork, and cook, stirring constantly until thick, about 1 minute. Slowly stir in milk as not to allow lumps to form until all of the milk has been added. Continue stirring over medium-low heat until thick, 4 to 5 minutes. 3.Stir the milk mixture into the stockpot, and cook soup until heated through. Serve immediately. Top with some cheese, bacon bits and chives......... YUM Hint : If you like your potato soup a little thicker stir in a cup of instant potatoes. God Bless bodeen

This thread reminds me of a resent Bank Story where the OP was kicked around like someone with communist intentions... This site has been a big part of my life for a few years now and I will miss that. I will not miss how this site's MEMBERS have come to think they run the ship but fail to balance the vessel.
