Talabani and Hakim call to speed up the government formation and praise their good ties

Baghdad, Aug. 26 (AKnews) – The Iraqi President Jalal Talabani and the President of the Supreme Islamic Council (ISIC) Ammar al-Hakim renewed on Thursday there affirmation on the historic relationship between the Kurdistan Bloc's Coalition KBC and ISIC. They outlined the importance of forming the government by creating a common vision to contribute in bringing the views closer among all political parties.
Talabani said after the Iftar feast hosted in honour of al-Hakim, "KBC renews its emphasis on the historical relationship mixed with blood between the Supreme Council and the KBC , I personally feel very proud of the ties I have with Al-Hakim, of martyrdom and struggle in Iraq"
For his part, Ammar al-Hakim said, "The meeting was an important opportunity to talk about public affairs, the genuine partnership and the historical relationship."
The confirmation of both parties comes to speed up the formation of the government at the time positions of the political blocs are still divergent over the agreement on a mechanism that would end the controversy over the post of prime minister.
The positions of the political blocs were reflected by the reject of the Vice-President and the leader of the Islamic Supreme Council, Adel Abdul Mahdi to nominate al-Maliki for prime minister, which was opposed to the non-official position of Sadr movement who announced his acceptance for the nomination of Maliki with the rest of the National Alliance candidates, but under certain conditions.
