A question for "ExecConsult" . . . .Mark, when you state that the income from our RV exchange will be "Ordinary Income", but also later stated that it would not be subject to "Social Security and Medicare taxes of 15.3% for self-employment", I assume that is because in this case, it may be treated as "ordinary income", but NOT as "Earned Income" for those of us under 66 and "full retirement age for SS", who might also need to deal with the Govt. on that front. Thanks. Also . . . a shout out to "Merlin" for advising those that do dare to file as "Capital Gains" to set aside a good chunk to cover the balance due when The IRS comes a calling, along with penalties and interest due down the road.

Rec'd a call from a local friend in New Hampshire who I introduced to the Dinar and one of his employees, who unbeknown to him already had bought 900,000 IDQ, went to buy more at TD Bank here and got it all in 1K, 5K &10K bills. No 25K. And the banker told him that it is getting much harder to obtain and they may have to stop offering it. Fits right in and supports the reports of "reduced liquidity" of the Dinar in Iraq that we have seen in the forum here. Dennis

I heard that my Congresswoman, Carol Shea-Porter was going to be on WGIR 610 AM in Manchester, NH this morning, so I caught the second half of her time there. While I was listening, a caller asked her, "Where do you think General Motors got the money to pay their loan back ?" She replied that it was from "sales". Unfortunately, the radio station cuts you off once you ask your question, so the caller was unable to correct her with the correct answer . . . instead of the Congresswoman's misinformation. Another caller called in and correctly stated that "GM simply took the funds to repay the loan from other funds that our Govt. has given them". Cong. Shea-Porter still insisted that that was incorrect and that the funds came from sales. Finally, I got my chance to talk with her. I told my Congresswoman that I was insulted that she would come on the radio and insult our intelligence by claiming "that the other side is pushing out so many lies and misinformation", in reference to earlier comments by her on the show about the health care debate. Yet . . . . she was doing exactly that to us right now concerning this GM issue. I went on to inform my Congresswomen that Fox News had the Inspector General of the U.S. in charge of the Tarp funds on and that is exactly what GM is doing, i.e. using other Tarp Funds to pay their $5 Billion loan back early and that GM still owes the taxpayers $46 Billion and the I.G. said that he never expects us taxpayers to see that money back !!! Unfortunately, I was cut off by the station and before I turned back to my radio, so I missed the first part of her answer. However, I did hear her with "total panic in her voice" saying that she did not know that because she does not listen to Fox News. It was so great to hear her "totally rattled" and frantically searching for what to say ! It was so similar to our President when "he's off the teleprompter" ! Dennis

Hi luckylucy, Admit that I was embarrassed that it was a four year old story. Just found it hard to be believe that a story like this took so long to get to me with all of the stuff like this I receive on a regular basis. A friend of mine that used to live in CA wrote back that what was so infuriating was that the school allowed them to do it "as a freedom of expression". So it's no wonder why the schools in CA have gone from the best to the worst in the country during the last 30 years. Dennis

Hi LuckyLucy, No . . . I am NOT. I wasn't sure when it originally posted, but I figured someone like you would enlighten us. It's still outrageous, whenever it happened. I guess I should amend the title to "Breaking News in CA in 2006". Oh, well. Whether it was four years ago or today, does anyone think that the situation has improved since then ? Look at CA, AZ & NV. They are financially BROKE because of the financial drain to their schools, health care, social services and extra police costs caused by the illegals !!!! But . . . .our National Govt. has totally dropped the ball. It is all POLITICAL !! The Democrats want to give away our tax $$$$'s to the illegals because they know that most of them will vote for them when an Amnesty Plan finally passes and they eventually become citizens and that's why "O" is saying that we need a "Comprehensive Plan" now during the coming election season to energize his base. That is NOT what we need NOW. SEAL the southern border FIRST ! That is the Govt's first responsibility. Prove that you can do that first, Mr. President ! Then . . . .and ONLY then . . . . after the elections should be talk about a long-term plan. Just my opinion. This is NOT to say that "O" is not going to change things to get more of our $$$$$ through a "Windfall Profits Tax", or some other new tax, as Adam has suggested. Here is the info that I uncovered . . . . . . IRS Publication 525 on "Foreign Currency Transactions" Hey Gang . . . . .. I started this thread to try and share this info without constantly having to post it inside of other threads . . . . As I have mentioned in this forum many times, go to irs.gov and on page 33 of the pdf format of IRS Publication 525, it very clearly states that concerning "Foreign Currency Transactions" . . . . "If you have a gain on a personal currency transaction because of changes in the exchange rates, you do not have to include that gain in your income unless it is more than $200. If the gain is more than $200, report it as a capital gain." Of course, with today's politicians, this is subject to change, so stay tuned. Hope this helps. Dennis P.S.
