  1. * Letter from a Congressman September 23, 2010 · Posted in CHATS / POSTS Hello to all, A while back I wrote to my congressman regarding the RV. He has been my congressman for 10 years or more and we have spoke on many occations bacause i was a decent size employer in his district. His name in CW Bill Young of Florida. I asked in a long letter about the dinar and for what it is worth he called me on the phone just now and said. The RV if done will have to be in conjunction with the IMF and world bank. There are scams out there with stolen and or old dinar so be aware but that is something he would not be privy to. He did say that it could happen but he is unaware. He has heard of all the forums and people saying they know when and how much and he did say that there is no way in the world these people could have that informations. Because of speculation and other reasons that would be the tightest secure TOP SECRET in the world and one that would never leak. He said in this type of potential financial landmarks that certain protocol are used for people in the know as well as being a very small group, that if leaked could easily be detected I wondered why he called instead of writing. Usually I get a form letter. Anyway thought you all would like to know
  2. Blindside: we're looking forward to seeing those smaller denoms this Sunday! Thanks for your efforts over there.
  3. .01 would be a great return. E seemed more conservative than I recall him being in the past. Perhaps we're in for a very modest managed float.
  4. New euphemism in my house. Rather than say something is messed up, jacked up, screwed up etc...we say it's been Iraq'd. "he Iraq'd that", "hope I don't Iraq it up", "if it weren't so Iraq'd, it would work". etc.
  5. Good find Ron. Appears that the tone of most of the recent articles has been positive on formation of the GOI making it look imminent. Here's hoping and thanks for the post.
  6. No it's KFC...and they're still around. Doesn't get any better than original recipe.

  9. Ali's interview reveals several interesting issues. He mentions his spread and # of daily sales. Put calculator to it and he's making millions each month. Says his opinion is that the rise in value of the "currency going to take some time as economy progresses in Iraq". Obviously a smart business man. Watch it if you haven't seen already. I tried to post the link but administrator blocked. Google "CNBC dinar trade interview". Interesting interview.
  10. Seems like DD's heart is in the right place. But with his comment " I still stick by the end of October, but I have heard one piece that says after the new year", have you noticed how these gurus always leave wiggle room so when their predicted date doesn't transpire, they can say " well I said it would be after the new year!". Always amusing.
  11. Pumper accusations are misplaced. If Sunglass's friend is correct, likely too late to buy. Seems to me the post would have the opposite effect. Buying ceases and forex tracking begins. My take. Great post Sglass.
  12. Any and all information that can be brought to light on this investment is good, even if it turns out not to be accurate. Was a great post. You got +s. Thanks for your efforts.

  16. Just looked at USD/IQD on Forex, http://www.forex.tradingcharts.com/quotes/index.php?sym=usdiqd&Submit=Go&tz=GMT, shows upward movement of 20.4. Is this normal?
  17. Frank's always a fun read and his heart's in the right place. Even though he won't accept, after the RV, he's invited to have a cold one at the Railhead with Joe P and I.
  18. Ha! Staying right on top of things. Gracias!
  19. How long has the below been on XE.com? "The Central Bank of Iraq has announced their plans to redenominate the Iraqi Dinar to ease cash transactions. By the end of 2010, they intend to drop three zeros from the nominal value of bank notes. It should be noted that the actual value of the dinar will remain unchanged. That means that 1,000 IQD (pre-redenomination) and 1 dinar (post-redenomination) will both be worth the same amount in US Dollars. As stated by the Central Bank of Iraq, their mandate is to "ensure domestic price stability and foster a stable competitive market based financial system." For more information about the redenomination, read "Iraq Planning Currency Redenomination." "
  20. Radio Free Europe Radio Liberty below. Take it at face value, make up your own mind whether you believe February 06, 2010 BAGHDAD — The Iraqi Central Bank is planning to redenominate the national currency in an effort to ease transactions and allow people to carry less paper money, RFE/RL’s Radio Free Iraq (RFI) reports. Mudhhir Muhammad Salih, a member of a Central Bank advisory panel, told RFI that a plan has been made to remove three zeros from the currency and phase out the current banknotes late this year. Salih said by the end of 2010 the new banknotes will be fully introduced while the old banknotes will be gradually removed from circulation. He did not specify when the new notes would be issued. Both will be legal tender in Iraq until the old notes are completely withdrawn. Iraqi officials have had a long-running plan to redenominate the Iraqi dinar. In 2006, the Finance Ministry recommended to the Central Bank that it carry out such a plan. Salih pointed out that banks are having a hard time accepting cash savings and deposits, but by dropping the zeros it will make it easier for both the banks to deal with their customers and for the general public to carry money. He said some 80 percent of Iraq’s money supply is cash in circulation. Salih added that in 1990 the value of banknotes in circulation was about 25 billion Iraqi dinars but is currently some 25 trillion dinars. Economic analyst Hilal al-Tahhan told RFI that the bank’s move is overdue. He said he expects the currency change to go smoothly because of the decision to allow both the old and new banknotes to coexist, leading to less turbulence in the economy. The current exchange rate is 1,167 Iraqi dinars to the U.S. dollar.
