Shabibi has already looked at every possible scenario, probably 1000 times. He even alluded to it when he talked about the managed float and how he will use it to control inflation in various sectors. They will certainly do what is best for Iraq, but I think all the T's are crossed ad I's are dotted. The only thing I can guess they are waiting for us the election results. We'll see. Great post!

Umm, I think you might have missed the point of the site. Its a rumor site. Everyone's predictions about rate and date is exactly what IS supposed to be posted here. No one knows when or rate, but the enjoyment of the site is hearing everyone's speculations.

They have already re-evaluated the dinar (or at least in the process). We are waiting for a revaluation, which, by all indications, should very soon!

We are all indeed interested in Steve's insights. His silence over the past couple of days may indicate some frustration with the forum. After netinfo have a more accurate rendering of the budget article, there were 3 more pages of comments praising ennorste. While we are certainly thankful for his hard work, it is clear that most people do not read comments. He seemed a little perturbed about that in chat...........just sayin.

Seems to me that .86 is too low. If part of the agenda is to remove large denoms from circulation, this rate will cause a lot, if not most investors to hold out longer. IMO, a higher rate would ensure large bills get collected sooner. I'm not expecting a 3+, but somewhere around 1.5 or 2. but, I guess we'll wait and see.
