  1. Teacher Gets A Shock When She Opens This Boy's File. This Is Heartbreaking. Stories like this, always have a way of putting the right perspective on life. Jean Thompson stood in front of her fifth-grade class on the very first day of school in the fall and told the children a lie. Like most teachers, she looked at her pupils and said that she loved them all the same, that she would treat them all alike. And that was impossible because there in front of her, slumped in his seat on the third row, was a little boy named Teddy Stoddard. Mrs. Thompson had watched Teddy the year before and noticed he didn't play well with the other children, that his clothes were unkept and that he constantly needed a bath. And Teddy was unpleasant. It got to the point during the first few months that she would actually take delight in marking his papers with a broad red pen, making bold X's and then marking the F at the top of the paper biggest of all. Because Teddy was a sullen little boy, no one else seemed to enjoy him, either. At the school where Mrs. Thompson taught, she was required to review each child's records and put Teddy's off until last. When she opened his file, she was in for a surprise. His first-grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is a bright, inquisitive child with a ready laugh." "He does his work neatly and has good manners...he is a joy to be around." His second-grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is an excellent student well-liked by his classmates, but he is troubled because his mother has a terminal illness and life at home must be a struggle." His third-grade teacher wrote, "Teddy continues to work hard but his mother's death has been hard on him. He tries to do his best but his father doesn't show much interest and his home life will soon affect him if some steps aren't taken." Teddy's fourth-grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is withdrawn and doesn't show much interest in school. He doesn't have many friends and sometimes sleeps in class. He is tardy and could become a problem." By now Mrs. Thompson realized the problem, but Christmas was coming fast. It was all she could do, with the school play and all, until the day before the holidays began and she was suddenly forced to focus on Teddy Stoddard. Her children brought her presents, all in beautiful ribbon and bright paper, except for Teddy's, which was clumsily wrapped in the heavy, brown paper of a scissored grocery bag. Mrs. Thompson took pains to open it in the middle of the other presents. Some of the children started to laugh when she found a rhinestone bracelet with some of the stones missing, and a bottle that was one-quarter full of cologne. She stifled the children's laughter when she exclaimed how pretty the bracelet was, putting it on, and dabbing some of the perfume behind the other wrist. Teddy Stoddard stayed behind just long enough to say, "Mrs. Thompson, today you smelled just like my mom used to." After the children left she cried for at least an hour. On that very day, she quit teaching reading, writing, and speaking. Instead, she began to teach children. Jean Thompson paid particular attention to one they all called "Teddy." As she worked with him, his mind seemed to come alive. The more she encouraged him, the faster he responded. On days where there would be an important test, Mrs. Thompson would remember that cologne. By the end of the year he had become one of the smartest children in the class and...well, he had also become the "pet" of the teacher who had once vowed to love all of her children exactly the same. A year later she found a note under her door, from Teddy, telling her that of all the teachers he'd had in elementary school, she was his favorite. Six years went by before she got another note from Teddy. He then wrote that he had finished high school, third in his class, and she was still his favorite teacher of all time. Four years after that, she got another letter, saying that while things had been tough at times, he'd stayed in school, had stuck with it, and would graduate from college with the highest of honors. He assured Mrs. Thompson she was still his favorite teacher. Then four more years passed and yet another letter came. This time he explained that after he got his bachelor's degree, he decided to go a little further. The letter explained that she was still his favorite teacher, but that now his name was a little longer. The letter was signed, Theodore F. Stoddard, M.D. The story doesn't end there. You see, there was yet another letter that Spring. Teddy said he'd met this girl and was to be married. He explained that his father had died a couple of years ago and he was wondering...well, if Mrs. Thompson might agree to sit in the pew usually reserved for the mother of the groom. And guess what, she wore that bracelet, the one with several rhinestones missing. And I bet on that special day, Jean Thompson smelled just like...well, just like the way Teddy remembered his mother smelling on their last Christmas together. THE MORAL: You never can tell what type of impact you may make on another's life by your actions or lack of action. Consider this fact in your venture through life.

  2. Hey everyone, sorry for the late post - internet just now came back into my life! I woke up this morning in a little bungalow about 10 minutes from the airport. I packed up and headed down to the office area, which is the only place there is internet there. I started to go about my morning routine - it’s Wednesday, so I usually gather up all my notes from the week and prepare the weekly chat. This week I had internet about 5% of the time, so I’m not going to be able to give much of a dinar update. Suddenly I realized I’m only an hour away from takeoff and I still have to return the rental car! I grab my things and make it to the airport with 45 minutes to go until my flight leaves. Here’s the river that rose during TS Erika and took the airport out of commission: As I got to the rental office, the lady checks the car and notices it isn’t full. I missed the gas station, and now I only have 30 minutes before my flight leaves. “Tirty minutes love, dat’s plenty time! Gas station is only 5 minutes up the road, go so I don’t have ta charge you." Island time… lol! Ok, I figure I’ll trust her. It takes me 12 minutes round trip to race to the gas station, fill up, and get back. Another 3 minutes and I was checked out and headed to security with 15 minutes till takeoff at 8:30! It’s currently 8:46, I’m sitting in the Melville Hall airport waiting on the 8:30 flight out of here…island time is really something else. It took all of 3 minutes to get through security at about 8:20. There is no internet, or food, or bottled water anywhere. The storms basically demolished 75% of the airport, and there’s really only one small working terminal that can be used. My plane hasn’t even came in, much less unloaded the last passengers. I’m starting to doubt that I will make my connection in Antigua, which means I’ll be that character that was stuck in the airport for months… oh well, I really do love a good adventure! This will be the third update on our mission to help those in Dominica. Now that the money was raised, shipping logistics sorted, and our goods in the container… it’s time to find a home for it. (You didn’t think we could just ship it and let it find it’s own way to the people, did you?! ) Originally I started off by calling churches in the area. They all sounded very friendly and appreciative, expressing their gratitude for our generosity and kindness. Gratitude is one thing, capability is another… so I decided it would be best to go to Dominica and find out first-hand who would do the best job with our gifts. I also thought it would be prudent to not hand it all over to one individual organization - for example, if we just gave the entire container to the Catholic Church in the capital city of Roseau, it’s safe to assume that the Catholic community in Roseau would get preference from them. That’s not what we had in mind, of course. (8:52AM - I think the plane just got in! I might make it after all whoop! Whoop!) As it turns out, a majority of the churches simply didn’t have the capability to unload a container at the port, and the bishops and priests I spoke to at the Catholic Church were too busy to talk to me on my schedule, insisting that I “call the office” and just let them handle it. Tsk, tsk, tsk… one thing I will note here is that with the Catholic church having about 70% of the population as theirs, the authorities in that organization seem very full of themselves and really important. It wasn’t a nice feeling talking to them, almost like I was bothering them with our petty efforts and we should have just given them money. I'm sorry, but I don't work that way. As usual, going in person rather than trying to accomplish everything over the phone was the right decision. The 2nd hotel I stayed at was owned by an active member of the Rotary Club, and I was put in contact with a few people in Roseau. Those led to other contacts and at the end of the trip, I am VERY satisfied with the two organizations that will be distributing the goods: The Rotary Club of Roseau and Lifeline Ministries. A little about Dominica… if you ever make it here, and get the least bit carsick - you’ll want to take something for that! The roads are nothing but series of switchbacks through miles of tropical rainforest. You honk as you go around corners in the daytime to let hidden oncoming traffic know you are there. At night you can see the headlights of oncoming traffic, but you miss the amazing flora and fauna of this beautiful mountain island. There are rivers EVERYWHERE - on the hour+ drive from Portsmouth to Roseau, I personally saw many bridges that were washed out, and the road diverted to the side where temporary bridges had been set up. I believe the bridges were brought over from Martinique, a neighboring island that has been a huge help to Dominica. Here are some of the bridges and landslides I saw: But don’t let that discourage you from coming here! Here is some of what you can expect, in addition to quite literally the nicest people I have ever met in all my travels. I have never felt so safe anywhere in the world. I mean literally so safe that I stopped at roadside shops, in the dark, on poorly lit side streets, surrounded by strangers… and every single time I was greeted with nothing but kindness and friendly words. Those are situations where you’re likely to be robbed in other places… but not Dominica. Back to the groups I chose to handle our operation on the ground in Dominica: Both of the representatives I met with are very likeminded and aligned with what we wanted to accomplish. I learned that the government is telling all the aid groups to simply give them any goods received, yet they have warehouses full of rotting food due to their incompetence (like most government programs). Rather than do that, the Rotary Club and Lifeline Ministries are connected with other NGO’s (Non Governmental Organizations) throughout the island, and they believe in serving personally. They will separate, bag, and box the items we have sent, and give them to the families personally. I wish I had a camera on their faces when I showed them the list of things we are sending: 1750 lbs of flour - (70) 25# bags 2250 lbs of long grain rice - (45) 50# bags 2000 lbs of long grain rice - (80) 25# bags (960) 15oz cans of black beans (960) 15 oz cans of kidney beans 640 lbs of brown rice - (64) 10# bags 2250 lbs of jasmine rice - (90) 25# bags 720 Quarts of canola oil 720 Quarts of vegetable oil (800) 15oz Chicken Soups 7200 Super Large MAXI (pads? I don’t know about these things!) 8640 Tampax Pearl regular 41760 Huggies baby wipes 6264 size 2 diapers 8910 size 3 diapers 5400 size 4 diapers One of our contacts specifically said “I am so happy to see pads on that list - I was in the maternity ward the other day and there were none!" I’m not sure what more I can say about this… it’s a job well done, and I have every bit of faith that our items will go to those most in need and will not be wasted. They promised to send pictures later, so the 4th and final update on this endeavor will include those pictures. To everyone that helped… you’re amazing, and I thank you for teaming up with me on this. We really did a great thing here! P.S. 9:08AM - I was wrong earlier. NOW my plane has landed. I am pretty sure I’m going to be stuck in Antigua… oh well, at least it’s not Detroit!

  3. Afternoon everyone! I've been travelling almost non-stop since last week's update, so I'm a bit behind on the weekly update. I'll get it posted for you all later this week - thanks for understanding! In the meantime, enjoy the most recent update on our Dominica efforts. *** UPDATE: Weekly Q's below! **** Thread re-opened

  4. While strolling around the Harbor this morning about 11AM, I noticed a man of Middle Eastern decent dancing and shouting, "Allah be Praised and Death to the Infidels" then he fell into the water. He was struggling to stay afloat because of all the explosives he had strapped on his chest. Please help me he would hollow out then he would curse me and I thought if he didn't get help he would surely drown. Being a responsible American citizen who loves his country and abides by the laws of the land that requires you to offer help to those in distress, I informed the Police, the Coast Guard, the Immigration office and the Fire dept. It is now 4 PM the terrorist has drowned and none of the authorities have yet to respond, I am starting to think I wasted four good stamps.

  5. Economist: central bank issued gold bullion to withdraw cash liquidity from the market Economy and Tenders Since 10.14.2015 at 09:35 (GMT Baghdad) Special - scales News Stressed the economic expert on behalf of Jamil Antoine, Wednesday, the Central Bank of Iraq issued an alloy of gold for sale, to withdraw cash liquidity from the domestic market. He said Antoine L / scales News /, "The central bank issued alloy of gold weighing grams and five grams to withdraw cash liquidity of the domestic market and one of these methods to withdraw liquidity from the market." He added that "the central bank has gone is contracting with international companies to equip these gold bullion even sell it to the citizen in gold auction and also alleviate the burden of cash from the citizen, it does drag to reduce inflation winning in the market, and also enhances the tally of the Iraqi dinar." He pointed out that "the process of buying gold a good gesture to diversify currencies and balances at the central bank are not limited to just the dollar, because gold is the guarantor of the balances of the Iraqi economy, which contribute to maintaining the value of the Iraqi dinar." The CBI had announced in 2013, on his quest to find a balanced ratio of gold with hard currency reserves, considering that the greater size of the reserve increases less than the proportion of the contribution of the other components. The International Monetary Fund said in 2012 that Iraq had boosted its gold reserves to reach more than 31 tons, explaining that Iraq bought 23.9 tons of gold in the month of August of the same year. Iraq suffers from a budget deficit estimated at $ 21 billion because of lower oil prices and Trauhaa up to $ 45 per barrel. / Ended 29 n / 10

  7. Sooner than our kitty kat from Sooner Territory. LOL Me LIKY LIKY whole bunches. Not for much longer, my friend. And that I can just about guarantee you. Its real simple, if you listen to Jacobs from the Federal Reserve, Christine Lagarde from the IMF and just about every other financier Masters of the Universe that is talking, you know that they strongly do not believe things can continue much longer as they are now. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out something is in the air. And it doesn't take a neurosurgeon to understand that these banksters Masters of the Universe types did not paint themselves into a corner with no way out. Why are they constantly referring to, emerging markets, the way they do? Simple, that's their way out. The only problem is too many Arabs want to be the boss. Eventually, my friend, will be shown who the real boss is and they will fall in line. And I know in my heart that suddenly is really soon. Yessiree, I'd imagine right about now the only people who still have dinar in Iraq are the politicians. And isn't that the way they always work?

  8. "Gold bullions to withdraw cash liquidity from the market" The CBI continues reducing the note count to release the lower denomination notes and increase the exchange rate in the near future. Just my opinion. Go CBI Go gold bullions Go lower denomination notes Go increase exchange rate

  9. Years of wasted time, billions of wasted money, and thousands of people dead from losing their previous insurance, just as everything else ocommie has put his hands on, the AHA is a failure...DM Four exchanges insolvent, 11 receive warning letters . . . and nearly 2 million enrollees aren't paying their subsidized premiums ObamaCare exchanges collapsing, enrollment plummeting Gosh, who saw this coming? The federal government sets up an artificial market for selling health insurance, sets the prices, subsidizes the premiums, goads people to buy who’ve never before been able to afford it, forbids profits and bans anyone who actually knows what they’re doing from running the darn things. How could that possibly fail? Quite spectacularly as it turns out. While the mainstream media ignores all of the following, lest it stumble in its role as Democrat campaign propagandists, the Wall Street Journal editorial page is doing its usual excellent job of telling us what’s really happening with ObamaCare. And in short, the economic model is failing. The state exchanges are turning out to be complete disasters, and of the 11.7 million people who signed up for health insurance with subsidized premiums, nearly 2 million of them still can’t pay their premiums. This is a mess: Some churn is inevitable, but the Congressional Budget Office estimated two years ago that some 13 million would participate in 2015, and its most recent revision in March of this year still pegged the figure at 11 million. The CBO nonetheless now projects ObamaCare will more than double in size in 2016 to 21 million, and such a growth spurt is probably necessary to stabilize the insurance markets. But don’t count on the attrition problem going away given ObamaCare’s high and rising costs, as well as its low quality that is approaching Medicaid levels of coverage. The plans simply don’t offer good value for the money. In a new working paper, Wharton economists Mark Pauly, Adam Levine and Scott Harrington estimate how much better or worse off the non-poor uninsured are under ObamaCare. They measure the cost of the plans, the benefits of consuming pre-paid medical care and out-of-pocket payments without obtaining coverage. They conclude that, “even under the most optimistic assumptions,” half of the formerly uninsured take on both a higher financial burden and lower welfare, and on net “average welfare for the uninsured population would be estimated to decline after the ACA if all members of that population obtained coverage.” In other words, ObamaCare harms the people it is supposed to help. This is not a prescription for a healthy, durable program. Markets have also been disrupted by a cascade of failures among the ObamaCare co-ops that were intended as a liberal insurance utopia. These plans were seeded with billions of dollars in federal start-up loans and were supposed to work like the credit unions or the electric collectives of the Depression era. No profits were allowed, advertising to introduce new products was restricted and industry executives were barred from management. As it turns out, attempting to outlaw expertise and incentives tends not to produce good results. ObamaCare economic model was never feasibleThere’s so much wrong with ObamaCare, I won’t even begin to claim I’m covering it all. But I do want to point out one of the most important flaws in the overall concept: Democrats thought it would be a huge win to get as many people as possible “covered” and to have the policies under which they were covered pay for as many basic things as possible. And they were sure that if the number of enrollees rose, they could control the cost of the premiums. Why isn’t it working? Because the entire premise behind that thought is flawed. What makes health care so expensive is the fact that everyone relies on third parties to pay for even the most rudimentary things like basic doctor’s office visits that folks can and should pay for out of pocket. Liberals will tell you government has to pay for this stuff because no one will go for “preventive” visits unless it’s free to them. But actual behavior doesn’t bear that out. Non-emergency uses of ERs on the rise - exactly the opposite of what ObamaCare’s champions said would happen. And overall health care costs are soaring as a signficant chunk of those signing up through ObamaCare are really signing up through expanded Medicaid, which limits doctor reimbursements while exploding demand on the system. Meanwhile, there’s a reason so many of these people can’t afford the premiums. Subsidies or not, their income isn’t stable enough to handle the monthly obligation, which is why it makes no sense to try to get them “covered” under all-inclusive health insurance policies that demand a monthly premium from them in order to make things “free” that most people could just pay for themselves. The Journal points out that Democrats figured all along the federal government could just bail out the exchanges if this happened, but now that we’ve got Republican control of Congress, they’re not able to get nearly enough money allocated to do that. I’m actually shocked that Obama doesn’t hold out for everything he wants and accuse the Republicans of trying to “shut down the government” if they don’t give it to him - followed promptly by a Republican cave. Come to think of it, maybe I shouldn’t have raised the idea. But none of this changes the fact that the ObamaCare economic model was never feasible, and now we’re seeing the inevitable result of that. The fact that the mainstream media won’t tell you this is the most damning thing of all here. At least Democrats will tell you their mission in life is to redistribute wealth and give you free stuff. The media claims to be in the business of informing the public. They’re the biggest liars of all.

  10. I, and many others, have said many times the problem in the Country is not necessarily the Democrat OR Republican parties. The problem is ALL of the professional politicians (and their cronies) from either party. I like Bruce Walker’s idea of changing the terminology to the Party of Washington vs the Party of America. RV ME The Party of Washington By Bruce Walker October 14, 2015 What is America angry at today? Make no mistake: Americans of both parties and across ideological lines are angry. Consider just how angry Americans are at both of the two major political parties in how people view potential presidential nominees. The seven most recent national polls – CBS, IBD, USA Today, Pew, NBC News, and Fox News – reveal that the combined total percentage of support for all of the announced Democrats running for the Democrat nomination (Clinton, Webb, Chafee, and O'Malley) is below fifty percent. It is not just that Democrats are turned off by Clinton; they are turned off by all the Democrats officially in the race. These same seven most recent national polls show that the combined support for the nomination by the three Republicans who have never held elective office (Trump, Carson, and Fiorina) is more than fifty percent of the all respondents. This is true even when "unsure" and "undecided" are included as options for respondents. If that seems astonishing, and it should, then consider that the office that has long been considered the second most important in our federal system, speaker of the House, is today an office that no one really seems to want. Has that ever happened in our nation's political history? The division in America is not "Democrat" versus "Republican," but rather a division that places in one camp all the politicians who derive their power and their wealth from the federal government. Let us call the first political party the "Party of Washington," a gaggle not only of politicians, but federal judges and entrenched bureaucrats, as well as the media, which is assigned to cover Washington. Every time the federal government does anything, these folks get a piece of the action. Legislation is passed, executive orders are decreed, rules are adopted, and judicial orders are pronounced, with all the members of the Party of Washington gaining something, even as so many of them protest that they oppose a particular action. The Clintons are perfect examples of the Party of Washington. They have grown fabulously rich without really doing anything at all except broker power and rake in hundreds of millions of dollars. Hillarious never goes anywhere unless she is surrounded by her Praetorian Guard of Secret Service agents, and she indifferently combines correspondence that is government property with correspondence that is purely private. The federal government is, to these folks, something to use for personal gain. Because the gravy is so thick and rich, everyone in the Party of Washington gains when the federal government undertakes some task. The counties surrounding Washington are the richest in America – perhaps the richest in the world. The Party of America is sprawling, disorganized, and united only by the idea that nothing the federal government does any longer works to the general welfare of honest Americans – even worse, much that Washington does is intended to fail. Even those few essentially federal constitutional duties like protecting our borders, defending our nation, and insuring that money is sound are done incompetently and indifferently by the Party of Washington. The loud and angry murmuring across America to all the politicians in Washington is the spontaneous voice of the Party of America. Those in that party do not trust politicians, especially career politicians and particularly those livelong Washington politicians whose background is in law or academia or some similar pursuit that is a practical appendage of the Washington establishment. The man or woman who wins the presidency in 2016 and who also wins the presidency with a true mandate for revolutionary reform will be the candidate who runs against the entire Washington establishment and who makes very specific promises about what he will do if elected. The candidate who wins will be the candidate who runs directly against Washington, with its festering carbuncles of power and influence. That candidate will be not so much a politician who promises to "get things done" in Washington, but rather the candidate who promises to "get things undone." The Party of Washington is the enemy of hope in America today. We are waiting for someone to end its reign of arrogance, larceny, and collusion. That someone will have an army of determined Americans to support this new and needed revolution.

  14. Guns -- THIS WILL BLOW YOUR MIND!!! Australian Gun Law Update; Here's a thought to warm some of your hearts.... From: Ed Chenel, A police officer in Australia Hi Yanks, I thought you all would like to see the real figures from Down Under. It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results are now in: Australia-wide, homicides are up 6.2 percent, Australia-wide, assaults are up 9.6 percent; Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)! In the state of Victoria .....alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. (Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not and criminals still possess their guns!) While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed. There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly, while the resident is at home. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in 'successfully ridding Australian society of guns.' You won't see this on the American evening news or hear your governor or members of the State Assembly disseminating this information. The Australian experience speaks for itself. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens. Take note Americans, before it's too late! FORWARD TO EVERYONE ON YOUR EMAIL LIST. DON'T BE A MEMBER OF THE SILENT MAJORITY. BE ONE OF THE VOCAL MINORITY WHO WON 'T STAND FOR NONSENSE!!! AUSTRALIA: MORE VIOLENT CRIME DESPITE GUN BAN

The paper stressed that the strengthening of the position of moderate Shiites and reformists, allows Washington to lay the foundations for a lasting peace between the different communities of Iraq, indicating that the absent-minded and attention thing is the intention Russian evident to expand its influence more to include Iraq, noting that the United States is still trying to prevent that, but time Short, newspaper pointed out that the Russian intervention in Iraq would support a particular component without the other, which could lead to the marginalization of one of the parties of the political process.

  26. GOLD PRICES set new 16-week highs in London trade Wednesday, touching their 200-day moving average – a 'key' chart level according to many technical analysts – as weak Chinese inflation data were followed by news of a sharp drop in US retail sales in September. The Dollar fell near 1-month lows against the Euro on the FX market, but the gold price for German, French and Italian investors still rose towards its strongest levels since mid-July at €1030 per ounce. Excluding automobiles, US retail sales fell 0.3% last month from August, while US manufacturing prices fell at their third fastest pace of the last half-decade, down 0.3% when "volatile" fuel and food items are excluded. China's consumer price index earlier showed inflation slowing to 1.6% per yearfrom August's 13-month high of 2.0%. Factory prices in the world's second-largest economy fell in September for the 42nd month in succession. Recording an afternoon London benchmark price of $1173.90 – some 8.6% above late July's fresh 5.5-year low of $1080 – gold priced in Dollars touched its average of the last 200 days for the first time since May in spot bullion trading. Not seen for more than 2 sessions running since February, a rise above the 200-day average held true without pause for five separate year-long stretches during the long bull market in gold prices between 2002 and mid-2008, and was again unbroken between January 2009 and December 2011. Gold prices in China – the world's biggest destination for physical bullion – alsorose in Yuan terms on Wednesday as the Chinese currency's official exchange rate was cut by Beijing. With Dollar prices elsewhere in the world hitting new 3-month highs however at $1175 per ounce in spot trade, Shanghai gold closed Wednesday at a near-zeropremium to the global benchmark of London quotes – sharply below the $2.50 premium averaged over the last 12 months, and deterring new imports after reaching above $8 earlier this week. Beijing's new approval for commercial banks to "re-lend" against collateral of existing bank loans does not represent quantitative easing, the People's Bank's chief economist said today, calling the market's reaction to last week's news a "misreading" and saying that the move "will not have any significant impact on the overall liquidity," according to Reuters, "and it's not the Chinese version of QE." Gold's latest Dollar-price gains are "mostly" due to hedge funds buying Comex derivatives contracts, says one bullion bank's daily note, led by "a mix of algo signals" triggering computerized trading programs plus "supportive signal" from the Euro gaining versus the Dollar and "commodity and macro-fund positioning [both in] options and directional [bets]." "Gold is so in play," says one futures broker, noting what he calls "big footprints" in Comex trading volumes. Gold investment ETF holdings, in contrast, continued to hold flat for the week, and bullion dealers reported only "average" demand from the key Indian consumer market, despite the approach of next month's festive Diwali buying spree on Hindu calendars. Silver meantime caught up with gold's latest rally, finally breaking back above $16 to reach its highest Dollar level since late-June, gaining 14.9% from mid-August's fresh 6-year low of $14.00 per ounce.

  27. So says this comparison with the 2011 'correction'... IN SEPTEMBER, writes Steve Sjuggerud in his Daily Wealth email, my True Wealth Systems computers did something rare... They flashed "sell" signals on nearly every system-based investment we track. What did I do? I listened! We sold the majority of our open positions in True Wealth Systems. And it might surprise you to hear me say this with nearly everything in "sell" mode, but I don't think the great bull market is over yet. There are too many big-picture reasons to believe stocks could still go much higher from here. In fact, we've been through this all before, back in 2011. The more I dig, and the more numbers I dissect, the more it seems that we could be in the middle of a small to intermediate correction – on the way to much higher stock prices. Today we're seeing the same pattern we saw during the 2011 correction. Take a look at the chart below. It shows the S&P 500 during 2011... Stocks crashed in late July and early August. They then entered a volatile period for the next two months. They tested August's bottom before finally making a new low in early October. Then the game was on. Stocks began a new uptrend and didn't look back for four years... Buying just about anything during this period would have led to hefty profits. Now, take a look at this chart of the S&P 500 in 2015... The similarities between today and 2011 are striking. The S&P 500 crashed in late August. It has tested those lows after bouncing violently since then. If this is "2011 all over again," we'll likely see more volatility and a new low in stocks before a new uptrend kicks in. Of course, we can't know if this is how things will play out. But history is our guide here – and it says higher prices are entirely possible. Again, I'm happy to follow my stop losses and sell when I need to. But I believe the opportunity in stocks is for higher – not lower – prices from here.

  31. well put LGD and thank you for bringing the Word of God into this, it is always appropo. and if it wasn't for the Spirit of Love operating in America, this place would have been set on fire ages ago but people have tolerated their rights and liberties being trampled continuously even to the point where we defend the perpetrator. the thing that amazes me is how few see the lawlessness. for example i mentioned the patriot act to someone and the response was, "if you have nothing to hide, then why the concern?" after receiving that response from multiple people, i started feeling like a misfit....like perhaps i was seeing something that others weren't. but i realize that if it weren't for those tolerances and indifferences to abuse of power and gross violation of civil rights, the american community would have folded a long time ago.

  35. . That statement is what has helped keep me going for years. Knowing there are millions of Spirit filled Christians not fully aware of the complete scope of planned oppression coming to America, whom are being influenced by a "teacher" overly influenced by worldly issues, that will come to understanding when they learn to accept the Witness in their hearts. and refuse to be persuaded by propaganda. Everyday there are more that discover that crossroad. High energy fire was replaced with determined resolve long ago. Each Christian will see the truth, in fact many have, but are continuing with their normal routine, until the day we are called to action. My problem is I am anxious for that day to arrive, weary of the illusion we are living.

  40. and this is the "all or nothing" attitude i think we should avoid shab. no one is saying that the police are not appreciated. if the public peace was not in jeopardy, the institution of policing would not exist. it exist because a service to the people is necessary if we are to live together in harmony. at the same time we have a duty to ensure the public trust maintains a certain level of integrity because power and authority will always come subject to corruption, always. all men/women in position of public trust should endure scrutiny. not to do so promotes tyranny.
