  1. Good morning DV! It's a beautiful Wednesday morning with SPRING finally right around the corner! The sun has been out more in March than the last 4 months, and that makes me a happy camper! I hope you all had a fantastic St. Patricks Day, complete with green beer or at least a shot of Baileys. (I sure did! ) Let's talk about dinar. I'm just going to be blunt here - this last week was a bit slow. We've seen continued evidence that Abadi is "the man" we want at the helm, as he continues to do great things to advance Iraq in every aspect possible. Parliament has been working diligently, accomplishing more in a week than they used to in 2 months! It appears that the Oil & Gas issue is paused at the moment - they still have the same 9 issues to work on that I mentioned last week. I'm going to cut them some slack and give the benefit of the doubt at this time, since they are actually working and not just screwing off like they would have done this same time last year under Maliki. There's a few ways to look at this... the most logical, in my opinion, is pretty simple - the CBI probably informed Parliament that they were not ready yet, so hold off on the HCL. So, what might be holding the CBI back? Again IMO, not much! The CBI is excellent at what they do, so perhaps it's a simple matter of aligning all of the banks that participate in the auctions. Maybe it's a last minute tweak on the Post-RV spreadsheets that they will be using. If that's what is happening, I believe that's great for us. It means we are a few words away from seeing this all come together. That's all I have for this week. We need some HCL news before I start packing my bags, so I'm going to temporarily re-open VIP for those of you that want to get in. Upgrade here: http://dinarvets.com/links/upgrade That option will close once Parliament picks up the HCL work again. Don't blame me if you miss out! Here's the weekly Q&A: "Up" is a very useful word that should be used in the following manner: The value of the dinar should be going "up" any day now. Hi eg1050, that's a good question. If you're in my VIP group, that information will be sent as soon as it's available. We won't know until after the announcement is made, but you can count on getting all of the best options from me at that time. Well, we're nearing the 3 month mark and heading towards 4, and my opinion is the same. Right now we've seen the HCL make incredible progress and it's poised to continue at a moment's notice. Congratulations on your success! I don't think a movie theater is up my alley for investing, so I'll pass on that one. Hi Candy! Yes, you are correct - the majority is done and we are looking for it to be 100% complete any time now. I wish I had more concrete news, but what we have is what I mentioned above. Hello RPMAC! Ramadan is June 17 to July 17 this year. I don't think we'll make it that far without seeing something major. Will Ramadan be any different for Parliament under Abadi as opposed to Maliki? I would certainly think so, but "how much" different remains to be seen. Whichever one you choose to wear, please just leave a note at the front desk so the rest of the group can choose to see or not see it! Hi soonerdoc, Iran: Is and will probably always be an enemy to the US. If they are doing some good in Iraq, then that's a good thing. It has no bearing on how the value of the dinar will benefit us. The rate: I don't know what rate you are referring to, but if it's over 1:1 I simply don't think that will happen regardless of how much is or isn't in circulation. But to address the "amount in circulation" issue, that is controled by the CBI and when they want to pull money out of circulation, they will. When they want to RV, they will. You know... so many things over there defy logic, yet people still try to apply logic to them. It kind of cracks me up. Good morning Barreled1! I don't think it matters at all if they decide to depeg. The value is what it is regardless of how they choose to measure it. ==================================================== That's it for now. GO HCL, and GO RV!!!!!

Central Bank announces "new taxes" on "all goods" Central Bank announces 19:12 17/03/2015 Iraqi Central Bank announced on Tuesday, the adoption of a new mechanism for the payment of taxes and control of "money laundering" through the prepayment of taxes and customs of the goods entering Iraq, returned that will double the country's imports, while the view of border crossings body, that the new system "is not without problems "in spite of the possibility of a downgrade" corruption. 3. I hesitate to put this out but I would like to get feedback on what I was thinking about. It seems logical to me that the GOI wants a unified country without ISIS, Daash, Al-Qaida, Dissidents, and political figures such as Maliki before they even consider the RI/RV. Why would you want to raise the value of the currency that they use to buy munitions, troops, vehicles, etcetera to use against you? Logically, you would want to rid the country of the enemy, unify the country and then repay the loyal countrymen with a bright a prosperous future. I don’t see an RI/RV happening until the war is over and country is secure. Could be many months yet. Further I don’t see Albadi’s visit to Washington as anything other than asking for yet more US support to get this done. They will accomplish this but it will take more time. While we wait, they will be getting all the laws, infrastructure, banking, ISX and other loose ends tied up. Then we will see the RI/RV. As much as I wanted this RI/RV happen, I just can’t see it. I have to be “Real” about this. Until the war is over and the political corruption is removed, I don’t believe we will see an RI/RV. They/we are making great progress and spending millions each day to see that this is happening. Many reports of cities being retaken and peace restored. I hope and pray that this will occur before I can even finish this post and another life is taken.

  5. IN MY OPINION (for the neg people) I believe they put the new tariff laws in place, so when they change the value of the dinar in the next few days, they will start right away making more money. Think about it. That's what banks do. You know when you go borrow money you will pay interest . The rule is already in place. Again IMO We are so close. Go RI/RV

  11. Here it is; WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO: File charges against the 47 U.S. Senators in violation of The Logan Act in attempting to undermine a nuclear agreement. On March 9th, 2015, forty-seven United States Senators committed a treasonous offense when they decided to violate the Logan Act, a 1799 law which forbids unauthorized citizens from negotiating with foreign governments. Violation of the Logan Act is a felony, punishable under federal law with imprisonment of up to three years. At a time when the United States government is attempting to reach a potential nuclear agreement with the Iranian government, 47 Senators saw fit to instead issue a condescending letter to the Iranian government stating that any agreement brokered by our President would not be upheld once the president leaves office. This is a clear violation of federal law. In attempting to undermine our own nation, these 47 senators have committed treason. I would submit, every single person that signed the petition is guilty of being one of the dumbest zombie brain washed left wing nuts in history and each should be neutered to prevent any possible offspring that could be just as freaking stupid as them. What ocrap is doing is illegal and treasonous. What the republicans did was a desperate attempt to save face, and while they should be tried for treason, they have committed treason against America by not already impeaching ocrap and putting his henchmen in prison.....DM

  12. on the contrary there is historical precedent, 139 of them between 1990-2002. take a look at this document and scroll down to page 5. you will see that the issue is not how many countries have moved from a peg to a flexible regime, but the number of countries that have done it in an ORDERLY way. those who have changed exchange regimes driven by crisis have run into much difficulty, some even revert back to a peg because their monetary and fiscal policies could not sustain the move. iraq is following the playbook to the letter for an orderly move toward a flexible exchange regime. initially they were looking to take the new dinar to a manged float. this was THE game plan of the CPA, but the problem was the inability to conduct cohesive monetary and fiscal policy (the CBI and GOI didn't see eye to eye). [...pegging the Dinar to the dollar would have appeared imperial and produced interest-rate movements counter to Iraq's best interests.59 Thus dollarization and the Swiss dinar were rejected for political reasons. To rid the currency of Saddam’s legacy and signal Iraq’s economic sovereignty the CPA decided on a new dinar with a “managed” floating currency regime to control the exchange rate. (read more pg 18 'Macroeconomic Reforms in Iraq') ] my point is that iraq was always intended to be the poster child for economic proliferation throughout the region but it had to be executed in an orderly way. attempting this project through disorder and chaos historically has adverse affects. the bullet points Laid Back highlighted displays steps of order iraq need to take toward an orderly move to an flexible exchange rate. this is what we want.

  19. Mnt Goat Tuesday Afternoon Update - "Still looking for the GREEN" - 3/17/2015 (Thank you George for emailing this to D.Recaps.) UU4051 – “Still looking for the GREEN” by Mnt Goat Hello Everyone, Let us review what has happened these last couple days and see if there is still a possible window of opportunity for the RV this coming week. I will also attempt to answer many of the questions emailed to me. You might want to read my news letter from 3/14 if you have not done so already. It will help to better understand what I am about to tell you today. To all you Irish I say a Happy St Patrick’s Day and no we do not drink green beir in Germany today! …lol… Today’s News Today is Tuesday March 17th and yes there is still no Iraq currency reinstatement announced to the world. Why? What we do know for a fact is that Iraq, the IMF and the USA has all agreed that the Iraqi citizens will benefit first from any currency reform. The was at the request of Iraq. Once Iraq is convinced that the in-country of Iraq can handle the revalued currency and new rate they will turn the attention to releasing it to the rest of the world. There are other aspects to this too but I am not at liberty to comment on them. There are a lot of aspects to this statement I just made above. It is not as straight forward as you may believe. It is also very subjective. All we can do is look at the progress of the in-country rollout, the progress with fighting ISIS and the parliamentary progress in the needed laws to support the budget. Fighting ISIS / DAASH Big news today from Iraq is on USA led coalition fighting DASH. The United States threatened to halt cooperation with Iraq in the field of counter-terrorism. Iraqi officials are shocked at the attitudes of the United States in the efforts in the fight against terrorism. Actually this news should not be a shocker to anyone since the USA has been very open about objecting to fighting in coordination with Iranian forces (felt is a major safe haven source of terrorism in the middle east). They also do not want to support the private militias. Sadly these two entities are in fact needed to counter ISIS. The USA is attempting to work with Iraq on plans to mop these entities up once ISIS is gone. I need also to explain the truth about terrorists in Iraq and I feel everyone should know. In the process I hope you will begin to see why the USA is reacting to the way ISIS and DAASH are being fought. DAASH and ISIS are inventions of the USA CIA. The CIA organized and trained their leaders. Initially the CIA funded the organization. This effort began years ago and was intended to work with terrorist groups in Syria to overthrow president Assad. Like so many terrorist organizations invented by the CIA, they eventually defect to begin their own operations. Many of these so called terrorist groups intentionally sucker the CIA to fund then, knowing their full intent later is to defect. This has been the problem with these terrorist groups all along. They seem to be a double edged sword for the USA. Former PM Nori Al- Makiki was working in conjunction with DAASH all along since he has first hand knowledge of the setup by the CIA when he was in office of PM. We have all heard about his plot to overtake the Iraqi government during the 2014 election by Maliki. History speaks for itself and we all know how DAASH then infiltrated into Iraq. ISIS was never intended for Iraq but when the opportunity presented itself by Maliki to them it was irresistible. So far they have created havoc and destruction, murdered countless civilians and robbed every bank they can along the way. Besides ISIS there is also long standing militia groups at the beckoning call of Nori Al-Maliki. They will continue as long as he is in Iraq. These groups work with his security forces to accomplish secretly his dirty work. Then there are the corrupt military and security forces of Iraq. So you have to see this entire picture of what is happening in Iraq as the fighting continues. The only way this fighting will end is for the government to take a hard stance on not supporting it. It then must weed out the old thorny shrubs that keep irritating the citizens and setting back any real efforts for peace. I just mentioned all this to you now in this news letter so you can get the BIG picture about the causes of the fighting in Iraq. Sectarianism alone is not the cause of the fighting in Iraq, as has been blamed and many in the west believe. If you notice the citizens are always made to take the blunt of the blame for anything that goes wrong, even though it is hard core instigations by the governments. This is always the easy way out. This way the citizens then feel guilty about blaming the government since they feel it was really their own fault. But it is just not reality. Actually I am hearing nothing but very positive news about a forthcoming reinstatement and I am told to wait just a little bit longer and we will get our pretty green presents….lol… I do not mean presents for St Patrick’s day either but the other green kind of stuff…lol… I believe they are slowly rolling out the currency reform providence by providence and town by town. I have confirmed this many times since my last post. It is really happening ! I am told soon the pace will quicken but all provinces do not have to be completed prior to a formal announcement. I reaffirm to you now that the CBI is in total control over the reinstatement but it is also working closely with the GOI cabinet finance ministry and thus the finance ministries in each of the individual provinces to coordinate. Remember they are now under the provisions of the Erbil 2009-10 Power Sharing Agreements. I will reemphasize what I said in my last news letter - ISIS is giving them a little scare and they need to go slow to ensure ISIS does not get any of the newer denomination (raid the banks) or benefit in any way from it. In the past they stopped delivery of the newer currency to the banks in the towns ISIS still occupied or had a liability of being occupied. As ISIS is cleared we are now seeing these banks receiving the money and the rollout has begun. There are still many more towns to go. Just how far does the CBI plan to go prior to making the international announcement? This knowledge no one knows for sure and we just have to wait and see. On the other hand we know it is close since they planned to make the announcement many times in the past week already and delayed it in the hopes of making yet more progress. So this is dynamic and they change their plans often. So out popped this article today – (Iraq is practically telling us their strategy and it seems we will have to wait till all of ISIS is gone since the economic reforms are a second priority) “Baghdad (IraqiNews.com)-A source from the Prime Minister Office revealed that the PM Haider Al-Abadi is preparing for economic reformation and simultaneously supervising the Command of Security Operations directly to liberate all the towns of Iraq which are invaded by the terrorists of the ISIS. The source told IraqiNews.com that AL-Abadi is now stepping some steps, the first one is to liberate the invaded towns by the ISIS, then rebuild them and getting the families back their home, the second one is putting a strategic economic plans to improve the difficult life of the people through activating the private sector, the governmental companies, the agricultural field, benefiting from the livestock resource and other investment projects, the last one is the reformation in the governmental institutions and buildings through facing the corruption and introducing the best service to the citizens.” So now we know their direction..! Needed New Laws Are there still more needed laws prior to any revaluation? Yes....and this is why I am saying yes- 1) ISIS is the reason why I believe that many parliament officials are demanding that they first get the funding for security to the provinces, as stated in the National Guard bill. This bill is not yet passed but is expected to be done this week. They can not disperse any funds out of the budget for this bill until the bill is legalized. As I said before they kind of put the cart before the horse in passing the budget bill so early. But it was out of necessity and it confused the h*ll out of all of us. I have asked myself why they are waiting so long to pass the National Guard bill. I believe they do not want any newly purchased equipment to get in the hands of ISIS or DASH. So they are forcing the provinces to simply wait until ISIS or threat of ISIS is cleaned out. They are doing this by now funding the equipment and supplies until the GOI is ready. Remember laws are not legal until they pass in parliament and are ratified by the president. How can they legally spend money if the reason it is allocated is not yet legalized? So yes there are still bills needed in order to get the reinstatement out to the general public and us investors (the international community). This is a PRESSURE TACTIC being used by many members of the representatives in parliament who support more security in their provinces. There are also two other laws too that need to be addressed and are very important. 2) The USA, UN and many international organizations want the jails cleaned out of innocent people. This law has now become a sore spot for Iraq. The amnesty bill will do this. This is part of the agreed upon effort to de-secularize the country. Also there are some changes made to the original bill that wake up many of the politicians since it is a wake up call for any dubious would be doers of future corruption and mismanagement of government funds. Abadi has ensured that much of the protection to politicians is GONE. The rules have changed. Why should you be protected from going to jail when committing political corruption just because you are in a high level position? This was the cry of many of the reformers and simply had to be agreed upon to go forward with the formation of this new Abadi government. Now they need to enforce it by passing the law. 3) The Judicial Reform bill is also on the plate and many say it is also needed to coincide with the Amnesty bill. How can you review these prisoners judicially without a fair and honest court system? Most of these prisoners have been falsely accused of crimes and need to have due-process according to their constitution. The USA is also forcing this issue. I am hearing this too can and may hold up the reinstatement from going international. I believe that we could see all of some of these bills passed in parliament this week. Pending Tariffs Major pressure to implement the tariffs. These were supposed to be fully operational by Jan 2014 and are delayed over and over again since. These tariff payment systems need to have fully operational links to the global exchanges (thus need international recognition of Iraqi currency). Article just reported that over 20 billion (yes – billion ) of annual revenues are lost each year the tariffs are not implemented. Remember too the UN gets a chuck of these revenues along side Iraq. New Taxes In Iraq Faced the process of the Iraqi government to impose taxes on citizens to cover the deficit in the federal budget for 2015 criticized the vast popularity, amid calls for the legislation of laws that will promote economic reality in the country. Citizens of the capital Baghdad and saw that "the imposition of the tax would be a" failure ", and that it was" unfair "to bear the ordinary citizen wrong fiscal policies led to a deficit in the current financial situation, considering that it would be as a" war imposed "on them. It is noteworthy that the federal budget for the year 2015 Act provides for the imposition of tax on the consumer. This could get very hairy if something is not done soon to complete the currency reforms, throughout the entire Iraq. If these new taxes are implemented they surely will be passed along to the citizens in the cost of goods sold. The good news (if any) is that recent articles are now telling us that a big fight is raging (maybe more street protesting) if no currency reforms with taxation. This is the last thing Iraq needs. The urgency in the news articles are also telling me they are now planning to begin imposing the new taxes soon. This many feel can not be done without currency reform completion. So it is all very near. Peace and Luv To Ya All, Mnt Goat

  25. hello my friends. let me add a bit of clarity about what is taking place economically in iraq because i use to be so confused when i would read articles about customs taxation especially after the gurus got a hold of the articles and spin the heck out of it. iraq is in the midst of comprehensive reformation. comprehensive because it is happening throughout the entire financial sector through BOTH monetary AND fiscal policy. for those who are not familiar with difference between those two terms, pause now, take 35 seconds, and educate yourself on them by clicking the links....it is good to know so that you have a sound foundation for understanding current events and news that is coming. this article is revealing the fiscal reforms taking place as iraq develops a modern economy. keep in mind that iraq will face a major problem if they were to revalue their currency and significantly increase its purchasing power (the ability to buy significantly more imports). what little domestic market they have today will be utterly destroyed. for instance lester habib's rug shop will go out of business because his rugs, once a hometown favorite, can no longer compete with marcy's international rug center prices. the strength of the currency priced lester out of the market, destroyed income for his employees, and did away with any retail and property taxes paid to the government. how do you protect/shield the domestic market? customs taxation. it is then a good sign that we see mechanisms like this being implemented because it might indicate preparation to add purchasing power to the domestic currency while protecting a fledgling domestic market, giving it opportunity to grow and develop. remember the privatization initiative whereby the banks plan to loan money to domestic businesses to get the private sector going? well if you increase purchasing power without adding controls on imports, privatization initiatives are dead out the box. this is of course just my please take it with a swallow of water and tylenol

  27. DJG, While I appreciate your opinion, I believe that if Iraq waits for stability nothing will ever happen. Stability in the Mid East is wishful thinking but imo not realistic.

  28. Well then, we all might as well dump our IQD now. IF, and that's a HUGE if, the end of war WAS the trigger, then the RV/RI/R-Whatever is never going to happen. Hang on, and untwist your panties for a second. The Middle East has been one huge war zone for how many CENTURIES now? All these people know how to do is fight and screw over infidels every chance they get. And they can make anything take longer than necessary...

  29. The pressure is actually a good thing for us, just sit back and relax, we are close...........not saying they will never split off in the future, but there will be increased value in the dinar long before they do.............what would the kurds do without the dinar ???............it would take years for them to have there own new currency, that is not something they can make happen overnight, international laws would reqiure a long drawn out process and they know it....................the dinar increase is in the kurds best interest as well as the GOI.

  30. Look at a map and surrounding countries, and tell me that Kurdistan would survive being on their own. The only way Kurdistan would survive would be with American backing and American bases in Erbil. IMO this is bluster, or just flat propaganda to stir the pot. A stirred pot is never settled, and a moving hand defeats the eye.

  33. That's the problem. We can't undo the last 50+ years of meddling. SO many third world countries thought they finally had a chance to play with the "big boys" when they were offered loans to build up their infrastructure. They were happy to agree to allow the American lenders bring in the American builders, believing the Americans were sincere. When they were told the Monsanto seeds would increase crop yield by 200% they couldn't wait to sign up. Only after multiple years of failed crops did they realize the Monsanto seeds were no good locally, because they were developed in very different conditions. It didn't take long for the lenders to demand their payments, and with the failed crops, entire countries economies went into default. It's Ok, they were told, just put a couple of our guys on a couple of your government positions and we'll forgive this years loan installments. Next thing you know, there's hand picked puppets making crucial decisions, and suddenly an entire country realizes they been had. All the loan money came from America, then the bulk went right back to American companies, and now they in debt for several decades for all that money no one got, and they got people running their government that do not have their best interest at heart. It's happened to one degree or another in a majority of the industrialized world. The only ones it worked out for were the Afghan opium farmers that Bush and his brother helped out with their irrigation problems back in the 70's. Thanks to the Bush's, the opium yield increased 400% in one year. But then, they mush have had a heck of a deal, because Bush sent troops to secure the 2001/2002 harvest while he was bombing Iraq. Even if we could stop the practice, which we can't, the average American pays the price. We are the ones that have the targets on our back, because the people that are actually responsible are so secluded they will never be exposed to be subject to random violence. Iran wants nukes so bad they can taste it. Thankfully Israel didn't let ocrap's team destroy them. Until we are finally rid of the pretender, Netanyahu is the best chance this world has.

  35. I'm missing something. Abadi has been PM since late July. Ever since he took office, it has been the difference between night and day as far as leadership of Iraq is involved. He was already in the since the overthrown of the Baathist regime of Saddam Hussein. In fact, his family was targeted by Saddam so they lived in Britain where he received his doctorate in electrical engineering. He entered politics after the US invasion in 2003, and became Minister of Communications in Iraq's Governing Council and was an adviser to Maliki. He was elected Deputy Speaker of Parliament and considered a contender for PM after Maliki was elected (?) twice and his corruption was being revealed. He is of the same party, the Rule of Law, a Shiite group, but he does not have the same mindset as Maliki and he has the support of Kurds and Sunni. The man hit the ground running and has worked hard from day one to unify the country, get the government off dead-center, and worked to establish goal and deadlines to be accomplished. For my money, he is spot on and doing a tremendous job. He didn't just come out of the blue. He has been around and has seen what has and has not been done and now is working to move Iraq into their future.

  37. Bunk was right. Or the ones who objected to the signing of the petition were all dumb a$$es. Our government is a set of checks and balances so that the Executive, Senate, or Congress will not set themselves up as King. " The letter" was in response to a President that was going to enter into a contract by Executive order that would open the door to a nuclear Iran. What a stupid legacy that would have left for Mr O. The letters writing is no more wrong than for our government, via our President, spending our tax dollars to oust the leader of our strongest M.E. ally. Apparently Mr O thinks two wrongs do make a right, a right wing conspiracy.

  38. What has me most concerned about this whole adventure is that Adam has many times stated that he and his team have crunched the numbers and although they were almost at the limit of VIP's that they can handle, there have been at least three or four "last chance extensions" for sign ups since the first shut-off. One has to wonder whether or not there is a need to be in any VIP position.... like will there actually BE an RV ? We all hope so, but realistically ... ?????

  40. I remember in High school ( Early 80s ) that most of the valedictorians including the Class President.dropped acid regularly. Most are very successful these days and have pretty good hygiene Sarge ( LOL ) The senior class trip to Disneyland was just that a TRIP. I would say that half of the entire class was frying on mushrooms or acid. Tabs of Acid with a picture of Goofey on them. Night surfing on LSD was also very popular. Imagine surfing at night with phosphous plankton glowing in the water. Crazy days and we were lucky to survive. As far as Alcohol goes Texstorm it used to get me into nothing but trouble. I've been alcohol free for over twenty years now. No more waking up with a hangover and a wrinkled dollar bill in my pocket wondering where my car is. If you have not tried them Nelg How do you know? Answer: You don't

  41. Yeah where were they when ISIS was chopping off all of the 3 year girls heads because they were Christian. Where are they now that ISIS is using Chlorine Gas on the Kurdish war machine? They are talk and can do nothing anyway. If I were there fighting though and Iraqis choose to stay knowing the bullets are fixing to start raining down on them, I too would suppose the only ones brave enough to stay are the ones that support the ISIS cause... It would only make sense.......

  42. I agree djgabrielle....in a way! Seems they are always at war within the tribes, another potential delay is the constant threat of the Kurds withdrawing frow the GOI. This could also be a major damper to any RI/RV actions! Just my opinion even though I hate to face up to the reality of the situation! Been waiting so long.
