This is the only one that let's someone get away with one-line posts that load up the "What's New" section with literally NOTHING of substance. I pop in here and see nine topics listed currently under "What's New", and they all have the same Avatar under Last Post. I have a special needs step-son, and this is on par with the same type of attention-getting stuff that he does. He wants recognition for every single little thing that he does, regardless of how insignificant it is. If he shuts the patio door when he comes in from the back yard, he stands there and repeats, "Look, I closed the door." until someone says, "Good job.". It was cute when he was 3. He's 16 now... Let's just give Sandfly his award for Most Posts now, and save ourselves from having to see anymore one-line posts that contribute NOTHING to the subject. Be careful......The so called "Guru" Breilting that you are calling out has in fact been the primary if not only "guru" banging the "watch the note count" hammer for over three years straight as an indicator of where we are at in this thing. Secondly, he has also said, which many of us around here also agree, that the CBI is purposely keeping the rate down so that they 1) can rebuild their country on the cheap, no different that Germany post WWII, 2) Offer a greater or more stable new exchange rate having drawn in surplus notes out of circulation, 3) combating corruption by trying to locate embezzled and counterfeit funds while they reduce the note count and 4) they are working on major economic and infrastructure legislation so that they can support the new rate e.g. HCL, Investment Laws, Article VII. So.... the rate would not necessarily be increased by the CBI even though they had achieved a substantial note reduction for the reasons stated above. We are all in this for various reasons. My caution on calling people out is that this practice often shows what we really know and don't know about this speculation. My mother used to tell me when it came to spouting off at the mouth, "it is better to be silent and people wonder if you are a fool than to speak and confirm it." I have yet to have anyone present an answer to the question I posed recently of just where the value of the former Saddam-era Iraq Dinar went when it became virtually worthless during the invasion and war in 2003. In other words, who or what entities actually gained monetarily from all that apparent wealth? Where exactly did it go? Did it just vanish, or did it wind up in the coffers of other countries known and unknown? Was it just a notation on the banker's books, to be corrected at some far off time in the future? If a property I own is devalued as a punitive action against me, and I do what is required to redeem it, there has to be a physical location where it resides while not in my possession. That is what I long to know about the value of the former Iraq Dinar. Thanks RFJ. If what you say is true, then what was the importance of DE-valuing them in the first place? Apparently, those Dinar were worth something to someone other than in-country in Iraq. Otherwise, what purpose could they serve in funding anything Saddam intended using them for? Just asking the question, because it has always been the basis of my getting involved in the IQD in the first place. The premise has always been, at least from my understanding, that the value was removed by the invading coalition forces to prevent their use in mounting an effective defense.
