As a newbie, I made my first post yesterday in the Two Cents section. I feel compelled to make another post today in the Rumors section. It may help to frame my post by saying that I always try to look at life from a viewpoint of faith in the purposes of God and from an operating mode of trusting in the still small voice of the Spirit that leads men and women to do good. My great, great, great grandmother was a midwife in the frontiers of the U.S. during the 1800s, delivering 3,000 babies in her career, almost never losing a mother or baby. In one arduous night, she delivered eighteen babies from dusk to dawn. In describing how she worked, she said that she could tell which mother needed her by feeling a warmth and peace surrounding that mother that indicated that angels were there to hand that baby off into mortality. In all that she did, she followed “the spirit”. Thinking about Iraq, and its future, there is a warmth and peace about the 15th of March. It feels like this time is a potential window for the birth of the revalued Iraqi dinar. It is very obvious that Satan has been working to keep the Iraqi people suffering as long as possible. Undoubtedly, Satan would like this suffering to continue. A great many people believe that the revaluation of the Iraqi dinar will be a blessing for the people of Iraq, and also for the many others who have purchased dinar. I would like to propose, however, that as people of faith, we can do more than discuss the technical issues that surround this future event. We can help bring it about with our faith; and through our faith we can assist God by becoming better and more capable of bringing to pass much righteousness during our turn on earth. Most of us have learned in our youth that God is all-powerful and doesn’t need anything from any human, but that we as humans need God’s blessings. This isn’t totally correct, however, because through careful study of the scriptures and pondering the purposes of life we learn that God is quite limited in what He can do. He is limited because he is limited by the faith of his children on earth. In fact, when Jesus walked on earth 2,000 years ago, he could do scarcely do any miracles in many cities because of the people’s lack of faith. With the concept of our faith being a limiting factor in drawing down to earth God’s blessings, I propose that we increase our faith through concerted prayer and that we join our faith together this coming weekend and petition God with our combined faith, prayers and fasting, that He will bless the Iraqi people, and begin to ease the suffering of these offspring of Abraham. Let us enable God to bind Satan by focusing our faith on a desire for God to thwart the efforts of Satan in causing suffering and despair in the Iraq region. God once said in speaking of a young man possessed of a devil – “this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting”. The purpose of fasting is to increase our faith… to enable us to declare to God that we want this good thing more than we want food for our physical body. When one cannot fast because of health reasons, then we can offer something else on the altar of faith, such as abstaining from other worldly pleasures, spending time in the scriptures and attending to those in need. Depending on one’s religious convictions, either Friday, Saturday and Sunday (March 4, 5 or 6) (dates fixed from first post) will be the first Sabbath of March. That would be a great time to put our faith together, and so I propose a day of fasting and a concerted effort to pray for the people of Iraq. I would also recommend that along with our fasting and prayers for the blessings to ourselves and the Iraqi people of a revalued dinar, we can ask God for purified hearts so that we will be more capacitated to use well the financial blessing that will be in our lives. I invite others to add to these thoughts and, for those who will commit to joining in this effort to enable God’s power to be shown forth at this time through our increased faith, to simply respond… I’ll join with you in fasting and prayer. I know all of you want to know what is happening, so here are some things to think about without me saying specifics: - This week could be a very interesting week. MOST still feel it will happen by March 7th. Some feel it will happen a bit after the elections. - Some have seen “frozen” rates on screens where before they weren’t “frozen”. - Rates are all over the board, so don’t get your hopes up too high on any specific rate. - Those in the “know” seem to believe everything that was in the way for this to be done is complete. Specifically, the SBA Loan by the IMF that was accepted and ratified by being tied to the 2010 Iraqi Budget ratification is believed to be the final hurdle that now forces the “true” rate to be revealed from the “program” or “artificial” rate that has remained for over 1 year. - I personally feel, based on what we’re hearing and reading, we could seen this thing pop by the end of March. A FEW OTHER TIDBITS: - You need to STOP stressing over perceived “missed” deadlines and proposed dates. This has been planned for decades. We are part of something very special. If you continue to stress over what others share that aren’t in the know (or know the WHOLE truth), then you’ll drive yourself and others absolutely crazy. Consider each source, including me in this situation, and move on. Remember what we’re doing here? We’re collecting data on this site and trying to make sense of it. In essence, we’re creating a chronological history of the final “hours” of one of the greatest events this world has ever seen economically. - I share information on here because I know it does give you reference material to UNDERSTAND this investment. That doesn’t mean it’s always accurate. Even WRONG information is helpful to you, so no need to bash the person who shared on another forum, as they probably are not on here. The negativity is not allowed here, and it doesn’t help ME to know more about this investment. Does it help others here? No. Does it help you? I normally am not a big fan of Steve I as I feel his intel has not always been very good however with that being said, I have to admit that this time his way of thinking and mine are quite a bit alike. I have always felt that we would have an RV of the IQD but that certain things had to happen 1st. 1. Budget approved and ratified- Done 2. Fully seated govt- Maliki says he will release the names of the 3 remaining seats next week (due to bad translation from Arabic to English, that could mean this week). According to Steve's contact (Desertdog) Maliki gave those names to Parliament yesterday. They will review for a day or two then vote. I feel this will be done quickly as M says he wants A.S.A.P. 3. Some say it isn't necesarry for HCL to be passed for RV. I feel it is very important step towards RV. According to Steve's intel that is to be voted on today. There were some other people posting that M had given S the go ahead to pull the trigger for the RV. I have searched my tail off for any info to confirm that and I'm sorry, but it's just not out there. Steve's contact apparantly can't confirm that either so in my opinion it is not true (yet). I say yet because when the 3 things I have spoken of are completed I feel at that point S will drop the hammer and this baby will be done. I think ( and I am certainly no guru) that we are within a two week window of this all being over. I have no "Boots on the ground" or inside info. I base my comments on what I feel is logic and good old fashioned common sense. In order for Iraq to see it's full potential and take it's rightful place in the world I feel they need the RV. Is it a necesarry thing to RV in order to accoplish the goals set forth in their budget? Maybe, maybe not. I for one think yes. There is much to be done to rebuild Iraq. They are a proud people and deserve this. Lots of contracts yet to be awarded and companies more likely to want to do business there if your money isn't monopoly money. It is time (actually past time) for Iraq to step up to the plate and play ball, however as we all know they do things a bit differently there. IMO, if the above things are not delayed, I feel the GOI will RV within a 2 week window which would align with Adam's assesment that it could happen before the end of Qtr 1. All of the above is why ( for once) I actually agree with Steve I and think this may have been his best post. Take what I say and believe it or not, after all as I said, it is only my opinion. I think it is a fair evaluation of where this is at and where it is headed. Thats my 2 dinars worth.

I have three degrees in English, and I taught English at the college level for nearly 30 years. Of course, I believe it's important to write correctly. However, I have seen some people here criticize others for their poor grammar, punctuation, and spelling, and in doing so, they were cruel, implying the other person was not intelligent. People without those skills usually know it, and sometimes it takes a huge amount of courage for them to participate. Correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling do matter, but certainly not to the exclusion of ideas, and not all people, sometimes very intelligent ones, can write well. Their minds are simply wired differently than the minds of those of us who can do those things; thus, people without those skills should not be shamed and frozen out of participation here. This is a forum of thoughts and ideas, and all of them, in whatever form they arrive, should be welcomed and respected without correction or criticism of the package in which they are wrapped. Being negative, however, is another matter. lol

This may sound crazy to most of you and I apologize in advance for this. In recent days I've gone through the darkest hours of my life. I'm flat broke and can barely keep my family together, having almost nothing left I considered selling off my last 3 million dinar. Last night as I drifted off to sleep after tossing and turning restlessly for hours I had a dream, or maybe a vision. It was our lord and savior Jesus Christ himself with a simple message. He said, "Do not despair my son, have faith and all will be taking care of." Now I'm holding on to my dinar and see what happens. God bless all. regards, bubba

First chance I had to post this. I was watching Fox news about 4:45 est. and they said the US Treasury announced they are extending the drop dead date of Mar, 5 (where our dept matches our GDP) FOR 10 MORE DAYS to Mar.15. If the country is broke on the 5th what is the differance in adding 10 more days. UNLESS they are expecting some kind of revenue to be coming in that time frame! Didn't know if anybody else saw that?

You have a right to your opinion, I wish it was based on facts, not emotions. Steve1 post accurate information, he doesn't guess, he doesn't report misinformation or out right lies. His reputation is impecable, his intentions are always honorable. It may be time for you to back away from the situation until you can gain a more positive perspective...

Dinarleee, I retired from the Navy May 1st 1990. I was pretty close to being flat broke. I watched the Gulf war waiting for orders to return to active duty along with my employer who was a CO of a reserve field hospital and I was assigned to the same hospital as a Physician Assistant. Orders never came but I continued to watch the ME. Then everything quieted down, as time passed Kuwait RV'ed and a few of my friends became multi-millionares over- night. All of a sudden they no longer knew me but they were very rich! I didn't have money to invest as I was newly married and was working on post grad degree and working full time. Fast forward to today, I have completed graduate school celebrated my 21st year of marriage, completed 33 years of practicing medicine and have been through a severe bout with rectal cancer and now retired/disabled.. This time I am invested in Dinar and will be rich when and if it should RV. A second chance for a dream to come through, I surely hope so, as @ 66 y/o there are few dreams left to come through! Remember when ever you respond, positive or negative there is someone probably dreaming, and you know not of their individual situation so let them have their dreams w/o bashing or putting them down as being dumb. Maybe they are too caught up in their dreams to understand their foolishness! God is good, God Bless ALL...........

Tonight I believe I can show you what M gave S yesterday was a very bright green light. I also believe that I can show you that when M said to start the economic and currency reform to S ………ASAP!!!…………it was started today. That’s impressive. I also want to talk to you about what our Team believes S is doing at this very moment. Let’s start with S. Last Oct. S told M ……….show me the GOI and I will show you a new rate for the IQD so that this GOI can act upon its budget for 2011 with success. Because without a better rate than 1170 then there is no way that 30% of the budget can be taken immediately as planned to be given to the ministers of the cabinet……..to implement their projects. These projects are what will rebuild the country of Iraq and allow jobs for the disrespected citizens of Iraq. The budget was ratified and approved recently. Evidence shows my Team that there is a complete GOI……..M just keeps using the same excuse about 3 missing ministers in order to keep his precious GOI camouflaged. So why hasn’t S given M the rate since we all know that there is definitely an elephant standing in back of Twiggy? Based on our Team’s studies we wish to tell you that in our opinion ……….S is adjusting the rate within the budget. It is not his job to implement the budget but to give M a rate. We strongly believe that based on yesterday and the article we are going to show you tonight …….S is counting …….S is adjusting 1170 into a new and higher rate that will improve the chances of 30% being successful from their 2011 budget. Many budgets await Iraq’s budget. I offer no proof nor do I present this as fact……….but the USA budget was given a two week extension today. Fascinating. Yesterday on the CC we told you that S has done a wonderful job in lifting the 000’s and controlling inflation. This was his baby and he is proud of his bouncing baby. What could drop his baby to the ground? As we told you last night…….high inflation. I wish to report to you that in January Iraq’s inflation was 3%. Last month in February the core inflation of Iraq jumped to 5.26% and the overall year average went up to 5.84%. THUD!!! What was that noise? I don’t know and I certainly hope it was not S’s baby being dropped. A soft pillow of 3+ would allow this baby to grow up into a mature adult. So the budget is in limbo………WAITING FOR SOMETHING. You know who else is waiting? The 15,000 IQD’s that were supposed to be given to each Iraqi citizen from M. We learned today that they were not delivered yesterday. Our Team feels that this is just another example of…….WAITING FOR SOMETHING. Yes Family ……everyone is waiting for something from S once he finishes crunching his cereal…….I mean his numbers. The GOI’s budget needs money ASAP…….because if it does not happen then there will be no 30% distribution to the ministers from anybody’s budget. All ministers are waiting for something. They certainly cannot count on the US anymore……….they stopped spoon-feeding them last year. I am proud of my Team……and I hope you are too. A statement issued by the province has received Agency (news) copy of it: that the province has developed instructions and controls to facilitate the exchange rate mechanism amounts to the citizens in the coming days through the use of ration centers and agents of the ration card for the delivery of the amounts allocated to citizens after them through the banks. The statement added: The governor of Baghdad, Salah Abdul-Razzaq said while chairing a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Commerce: compensatory amounts that will be launched in the form of payments from government banks and the specific locations of Karkh and Rasafa. He said Abdul-Razzaq: The instructions and controls to maintain will be circulated to agents, citizens and banks forthe purpose of the work which, while the distribution of money to beneficiaries, as well as the identification of each agent the number of families that will be distributed with the amounts in each batch by 200 family maximum, and secure the remaining funds for the families that do not decline to receive the amounts. Baghdad opened a commercial debt buyback program four years ago and said it would qualify claimants for a cash buyback of 10.5% of the outstanding amount for debts less than $35 million, Mudher Kasim, the senior advisor of the central bank of Iraq, told Dow Jones Newswires in a telephone interview from Baghdad. Kasim added that for debts of more than $35 million, the government has offered bonds carrying a 7.5% interest rate. He said more than 13,000 claimants have so far participated in the program and a total of $2.7 billion worth of bonds have been issued. The bonds mature in 2028 but start to pay back the principle from 2020, he added. The terms of the program were comparable to the terms of Iraq's 2004 Paris Club deal, he said. Iraq emerged from the U.S.-invasion in 2003 with around $200 billion in debt and war reparations to compensate for its 1990 invasion of Kuwait. Five percent of Iraq's oil revenue still goes toward war reparations. The Paris Club of 19 rich creditor nations agreed in 2004 to write off 80% of its $40 billion debt to Iraq. Iraq still owes government-to-government debt, including to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, as well as some $50 billion in war reparations to Kuwait, of which Iraq already paid $28 billion. The latest nation, outside the Paris Club, to write off Iraq's debt was China when it cancelled some $8 billion of Iraq's debt. The United Arab Emirates waived $7 billion of Iraqi debt and Russia wrote off $12.9 billion in 2008. Romania forgave $2 billion out of $2.5 billion owed by Iraq. The Iraqi government recently urged the central bank and other governmental entities to settle commercial debts in a bid to protect its money from foreign claims as the U.N. Here is the most current email from Ray (Desertdog) regarding our knowledge. Steve, Just talked to my contact. He said that the three minister candidates were presented to Parliament today. Parliament stated that they were going to review their credentials for two to three days and then vote on them. This may happen sooner in my opinion. Tomorrow they are voting on several laws. One of the laws is the oil & gas law(HCL) that they will be looking at too. My contact also told me that his contact in Iraq will be calling back either tonight or in the morning with more information. He is going to dig deeper and see what he can come up with. I also talked to our other contact here that you and I met with a few months ago. He said that the people in the Kirkuk area are starting to get very restless and are ready for Maliki to deliver on his promises. They want jobs, services and less government corruption. Under a floating exchange rate system, market forces generate changes in the value of the currency, known as currency depreciation or appreciation. In a fixed exchange rate system, both devaluation and revaluation can be conducted by policymakers, usually motivated by market pressures. The charter of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) directs policymakers to avoid "manipulating exchange rates...to gain an unfair competitive advantage over other members." At the Bretton Woods Conference in July 1944, international leaders sought to insure a stable post-war international economic environment by creating a fixed exchange rate system. The United States played a leading role in the new arrangement, with the value of other currencies fixed in relation to the dollar and the value of the dollar fixed in terms of gold—$35 an ounce. Following the Bretton Woods agreement, the United States authorities took actions to hold down the growth of foreign central bank dollar reserves to reduce the pressure for conversion of official dollar holdings into gold. During the mid- to late-1960s, the United States experienced a period of rising inflation. Because currencies could not fluctuate to reflect the shift in relative macroeconomic conditions between the United States and other nations, the system of fixed exchange rates came under pressure. In 1973, the United States officially ended its adherence to the gold standard. Many other industrialized nations also switched from a system of fixed exchange rates to a system of floating rates. Since 1973, exchange rates for most industrialized countries have floated, or fluctuated, according to the supply of and demand for different currencies in international markets. An increase in the value of a currency is known as appreciation, and a decrease as depreciation. Some countries and some groups of countries, however, continue to use fixed exchange rates to help to achieve economic goals, such as price stability. Under a fixed exchange rate system, only a decision by a country's government or monetary authority can alter the official value of the currency. Governments do, occasionally, take such measures, often in response to unusual market pressures. Devaluation, the deliberate downward adjustment in the official exchange rate, reduces the currency's value; in contrast, a revaluation is an upward change in the currency's value. For example, suppose a government has set 10 units of its currency equal to one dollar. To devalue, it might announce that from now on 20 of its currency units will be equal to one dollar. This would make its currency half as expensive to Americans, and the U.S. dollar twice as expensive in the devaluing country. To revalue, the government might change the rate from 10 units to one dollar to five units to one dollar; this would make the currency twice as expensive to Americans, and the dollar half as costly at home. Under What Circumstances Might a Country Devalue? When a government devalues its currency, it is often because the interaction of market forces and policy decisions has made the currency's fixed exchange rate untenable. In order to sustain a fixed exchange rate, a country must have sufficient foreign exchange reserves, often dollars, and be willing to spend them, to purchase all offers of its currency at the established exchange rate. When a country is unable or unwilling to do so, then it must devalue its currency to a level that it is able and willing to support with its foreign exchange reserves. A key effect of devaluation is that it makes the domestic currency cheaper relative to other currencies. There are two implications of a devaluation. First, devaluation makes the country's exports relatively less expensive for foreigners. Second, the devaluation makes foreign products relatively more expensive for domestic consumers, thus discouraging imports. This may help to increase the country's exports and decrease imports, and may therefore help to reduce the current account deficit. There are other policy issues that might lead a country to change its fixed exchange rate. For example, rather than implementing unpopular fiscal spending policies, a government might try to use devaluation to boost aggregate demand in the economy in an effort to fight unemployment. Revaluation, which makes a currency more expensive, might be undertaken in an effort to reduce a current account surplus, where exports exceed imports, or to attempt to contain inflationary pressures. Effects of Devaluation A significant danger is that by increasing the price of imports and stimulating greater demand for domestic products, devaluation can aggravate inflation. If this happens, the government may have to raise interest rates to control inflation, but at the cost of slower economic growth. Another risk of devaluation is psychological. To the extent that devaluation is viewed as a sign of economic weakness, the creditworthiness of the nation may be jeopardized. Thus, devaluation may dampen investor confidence in the country's economy and hurt the country's ability to secure foreign investment. Another possible consequence is a round of successive devaluations. For instance, trading partners may become concerned that a devaluation might negatively affect their own export industries. Neighboring countries might devalue their own currencies to offset the effects of their trading partner's devaluation. Such "beggar thy neighbor" policies tend to exacerbate economic difficulties by creating instability in broader financial markets. Since the 1930s, various international organizations such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have been established to help nations coordinate their trade and foreign exchange policies and thereby avoid successive rounds of devaluation and retaliation. The 1976 revision of Article IV of the IMF charter encourages policymakers to avoid "manipulating exchange rates...to gain an unfair competitive advantage over other members." With this revision, the IMF also set forth each member nation's right to freely choose an exchange rate system.

Nice post but as you point out it is just a rumor, since it is a rumor that is in current circulation we should all consider that the GOI is not seated or finished and the Chapter 7 still looms over Iraq. From what I can tell, my sources were spot on that the GOI were and are working on an RV over last weekend and this week. Again, no one knows when or if the RV will take place however, we know that Iraq is on to something and that makes most of the rumors believable at the moment. What I am happy to see is the inthusiasm and positive comments from many. The recent posts are sometimes extream but usually positive in nature lending an attitude of success in this investment choice. I have complete faith that the Iraqi people will come through with a modest but positive increase in there standard of living. The most important piece to this puzzel is the large foriegn investments in everything under the sun including OIL! Now I for one am happy to know that I am invested in a small piece of the larger part! Have faith and go RV as it is closer than you can imagine. I have been following the discussions on RV for a couple of months. I invested in dinar in October after a friend recommended that I check out the opportunity. In all honesty, it seemed like the closest thing to a "no lose" proposition that I had ever come across. Even if the dinar doesn't revalue and I cash out I am only out a fraction of my initial investment. It was an easy decision to make. Now I am six months into this rollercoaster ride and I am more convinced than ever that there will be an RV. In fact, I think that there already should have been an RV weeks ago. The question that I have isn't when will it happen or how much will it be worth. My question is why hasn't it happened yet. I have told several people about this investment and none of them have bought dinar. why? When you do your due diligence there are so many upsides that I don't understand why people aren't lining up to buy dinar. so today I had some time to ponder the situation and came up with this idea. The one thing that creates inaction in people...more than anything else....is fear. Fear of change. Fear of ridicule. Fear of being wrong. Fear of being right. Perhaps we have been looking at the situation in Iraq the wrong way. They are venturing into a huge unknown. They have no experience to prepare them for dealing with the sudden unimaginable wealth this RV will provide for them. Maybe it's something else they fear. It could be that they are afraid of being the leader of the middle east. When you stand up and lead, sometimes you get shot at. I really think there is fear behind their hesitancy and if we can figure out what that fear is we will have the answer to the mystery of the always close but elusive RV. just my opinion...and thanks in advance for any comments. I know all of you want to know what is happening, so here are some things to think about without me saying specifics: - This week could be a very interesting week. MOST still feel it will happen by March 7th. Some feel it will happen a bit after the elections. - Some have seen “frozen” rates on screens where before they weren’t “frozen”. - Rates are all over the board, so don’t get your hopes up too high on any specific rate. - Those in the “know” seem to believe everything that was in the way for this to be done is complete. Specifically, the SBA Loan by the IMF that was accepted and ratified by being tied to the 2010 Iraqi Budget ratification is believed to be the final hurdle that now forces the “true” rate to be revealed from the “program” or “artificial” rate that has remained for over 1 year. - I personally feel, based on what we’re hearing and reading, we could seen this thing pop by the end of March. A FEW OTHER TIDBITS: - You need to STOP stressing over perceived “missed” deadlines and proposed dates. This has been planned for decades. We are part of something very special. If you continue to stress over what others share that aren’t in the know (or know the WHOLE truth), then you’ll drive yourself and others absolutely crazy. This is not my norm. I do read and study the Word of God daily. But I was on my way to the bank the other day and my Bible was laying on the passenger seat. I thought I'm going to place my finger inside the Bbile and when I am at the next traffic light I will read where my finger is. I stopped and realized that the Bible was upside down. Not knowing this as I drove so I couldn't try to do something. I read this: 1 Kings 18:1 And it came to pass after many days that the word of the LORD came to Elijah, in the third year, saying, "Go, present yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain on the earth." NKJV Read this entire chapter it is an awesome one I know rain can refer to many things such as His Spirit being poured out. I know that we can force interputation to make it say what we need it to say. But this refreshed my heart and mind. Regardless of what goes on here rv or no rv, God will take care of us. Even when it seems like a dought and severe times. God is good and is faithful. Be encouraged, rest in the Lord, trust in Him. This is not speculation this is not pump or hype. What really happens if the government shuts down. The Ghost of Shutdowns Past Since 1981, there have been five government shutdowns. Four of the last five government shutdowns went largely unnoticed by anybody but the federal employees affected. In the last one, however, the American people shared the pain. 1981: President Reagan vetoed a continuing resolution and 400,000 Federal employees were sent home at lunch and told not to come back. A few hours later, President Reagan signed a new version of the continuing resolution and the workers were back at work the next morning. 1984: With no approved budget, 500,000 federal workers were sent home. An emergency spending bill has them all back at work the next day. 1990: With no budget or continuing resolution, the government shuts down during the entire three-day Columbus Day weekend. Most workers were off anyway and an emergency spending bill signed by President Bush over the weekend has them back at work Tuesday morning. 1995-1996: Two government shutdowns beginning on November 14, 1995, idled different functions of the federal government for various lengths of time until April of 1996. The most serious government shutdowns in the nation's history resulted from a budget impasse between Democratic President Clinton and the Republican-controlled Congress over funding for Medicare, education, the environment and public health. The Costs of Government Shutdowns The first of the two government shutdowns in 1995-1996 lasted only six days, from November 14 to November 20. Following the six-day shutdown, the Clinton administration released an estimate of what the six days of an idled federal government had cost. Lost Dollars: The six-day shutdown cost taxpayers about $800 million, including $400 million to furloughed federal employees who were paid, but did not report to work and another $400 million in lost revenue in the four days that the IRS enforcement divisions were closed. The emphasis of those plans is to determine which functions should continue. Most notably, the Department of Homeland Security and its Transportation Security Administration (TSA) did not exist in 1995 when the last long-term government shutdown took place. Due to the critical nature of their function, it is highly likely that the TSA would continue to function normally during a government shutdown. Based on history, here is how a long-term government shutdown might impact some government-provided public services. Social Security: Benefit checks would probably keep coming, but no new applications would be accepted or processed. Welfare: Again, the checks would probably continue, but new applications for Food Stamps might not be processed. Mail: The U.S. Postal Service supports itself, so mail deliveries would continue as usual. I like your optimism, BUT if the government (IRS) wants to do something, there is always a way around the current set of rules/laws. A simple one would be to enact a windfall tax that would be applied to a specific amount...like say anything over 1 million dollars, no matter what the windfall was from.....then they wouldn't be targeting a specific group or investment. Just sayin, if they want to, they'll figure out a way, it's the American Way! Or maybe the negate the "Bill of Attainder" law.....you should know what Uncle Sam is capable of by now

Your perspective is correct, however, your title is a bit offensive. Maybe you should have titled your opinion as "This is what I think" or something to that effect. To come off and imply that we are dumb, isn't very nice and makes you look like a know it all. After all you have only been invested for a year. What's funny, that's about the time, the rumors started flying about rv every weekend. So did you invest, because you bought in to all the hype, then? Just wondering.
