The deficit was projected at $13.4 billion. About 95 percent of Iraq's government budget comes from oil revenue. The budget allocated $25.7 billion for investments and $2.05 billion to pay oil firms' investment costs. Passage of the budget was held up for months by political haggling. Budget shortfalls challenge Iraq's ability to rebuild after years of conflict following the U.S.-led invasion in 2003. But officials have said the deficit could be wiped out if world oil prices stay high. Violence has subsided in the last three years and the government has announced major projects to refurbish oilfields and infrastructure and to construct housing. The OPEC producer has signed deals with global oil firms that could boost its output capacity to 8-12 million bpd, rivalling top producer Saudi Arabia, in about six time. Current production is 2.7 million bpd. 2. Currency Auctions Announcement No. (1838) The latest daily currency auction was held in the Central Bank of Iraq on the 20-FEB-2011. The results were as follows: DetailsNotesNumber of banks18 Auction price selling dinar / US$1170 Auction price buying dinar / US$----- Amount sold at auction price (US$)192,961,000 Amount purchased at Auction price (US$)----- Total offers for buying (US$)192,961,000 Total offers for selling (US$)----- Exchange rates Dollar's exchange rates / in Baghdad markets Well there goes a perfectly good theory all blown to heck ... isn't it Z? ... lol ... I know it's a breath through a reed but I would have loved to have seen no auction today. Oh well ... what ya' gonna' do? Oil up at Friday's close Gold too Zeroes ... near as they continue to take the small breaths ... Cash portion only 1.469M or .76% aka miniscule. The news this morning has a whole different tone ... sort of a government going about it's business doing what governments do. I agree that we haven't seen Iraq do much of that but go to the news section and just open it up and peruse the articles. At least at this hour it looks like that. The civil unrest articles this morning are few ... I guess the one that troubles me most is this one Maliki: Protests do not worry Iraq Government ... seriously? ... it looks to all the world that your citizens patience has run dry ... spurred on by geopolitical uprisings in neighboring countries which didn't always work out well for those in charge ... it looks as though the situation MAY have reached near "critical mass" ... I understand appearing to be strong as a leader ... to give the impression that what the citizenry have planned to use as a "stick" to prod their government out of their year long luncheon doesn't worry the PM ... that is a different ballgame! Yes, I understand that in the Middle East things happen slow as molasses ... ask Mubarak how that worked out for him. Summit to be held on Time.. Okay ... ya' might want to "push the button" aka "pull the trigger" on the RI/RV in the not too distant future or you've been promised by your populous that there won't be anywhere for the delegations to stay, meet, eat, or drink and that their LZ would be "hot" ... I'm thinking not such a big selling point on having it there again! Government officials generally aren't big on flack jackets and danger don't ya' know! I just went over the news again and honestly ... other than the previous two I don't see anything to comment on. If you haven't read Frank26's Thursday chat I would recommend it. It's the biggest compilation of ... and I want to be careful how I categorize this ... but it is the biggest compilation of "stuff" ... some intel, some supposition, some news, some conclusions drawn, some media broadcasts, etc. .... all drawn into a picture to TRY and put a face on the puzzle before us. Like him or don't ... it is still true. If you don't like Glenn Beck ... skip past it ... if you don't like (__________) ... skip that. But he does give a perspective that can be used by ANYONE to keep their feet on the ground while WATCHING the rollercoaster! My point is that regardless of where we get a useful idea of what is going on ... it is still useful. His Thursday chat post ads perspective to an otherwise confusing situation. There isn't any reason for me to rehash those points ... and anything that gives us perspective is useful ... yes?! Read it or don't ... I'm not your Mom! I do want to point out something weird though. I've told you over and over that I have no imbeds, govt officials here or their, no boots on the ground ... nada. So when I woud hear a story ... it was 15th hand or worse! In the past 2 weeks ... every day ... yes, I said every day I get phone calls with 2nd or 3rd hand info. No, I'm not saying that I'm betting the farm on them and I haven't even shared them with anyone but my group who understands that I am uncertain of their accuracy/authenticity and that I always tell them that ... "that and a $1.79 will get you a cup of coffee at 7/11!" In other words ... I have no idea if it's true or not! But to go from 15th hand to 2nd and 3rd hand info ... what's up with that? What I'm trying to say is that I believe something has to be up when the common fellow has that kind of info. I'm headed to church but will stop back in later B4 the race. Picking order out of chaos is actually easier than picking the truth out of quiet waters (especially when you know it's not that quiet). I hope I've done someone some good this morning ... if not ... you'll forgive me please. Peace Doc31

  3. UPDATE 2-Iraq lawmakers approve 2011 budget of $82.6 bln By Suadad al-Salhy | Reuters – Sun, Feb 20, 2011 10:27 PM IST* Iraq budget projects $13.4 billion deficit * OPEC producer looks to oil revenue to repair war damage (Adds details, background) BAGHDAD, Feb 20 (Reuters) - Iraq's parliament gave final approval on Sunday to an $82.6 billion budget for 2011 based on an average oil price of $76.50 per barrel and 2.2 million barrels per day in crude exports. The deficit was projected at $13.4 billion, although Iraqi officials have said the shortfall would be eliminated if world oil prices remain at current levels. About 95 percent of Iraq's government budget comes from oil revenue. Budget shortfalls challenge Iraq's ability to rebuild after years of conflict following the 2003 U.S.-led invasion that ousted dictator Saddam Hussein. The budget allocates $25.7 billion for investments. Iraqi officials have announced massive projects to build hundreds of thousands of new homes and to boost electricity generation. Current power production is just 7,000 megawatts compared to demand of 12,000 megawatts. Iraq's master plan for electricity says the sector needs $77 billion of investment by 2030. The 2011 budget also allocates $2.05 billion to pay oil firms' investment costs. The OPEC producer has signed deals with global oil firms that could boost its output capacity to 8-12 million bpd, rivalling top producer Saudi Arabia, in about six years. Current production is 2.7 million bpd. The budget foresees crude production of 100,000 bpd from Iraq's semi-autonomous northern Kurdish region. Iraqi Kurdistan began pumping oil again earlier this month after a halt of more than a year due to a dispute with the central government in Baghdad over contracts the region signed with foreign oil companies. The Kurdish region had ramped up production to about 80,000 bpd by Friday, sources at Iraq's North Oil Company told Reuters, but only about 50,000 bpd were being exported, with the rest feeding domestic refineries. [iD: nLDE71H1OS] Passage of the budget was held up for months by political haggling. Iraq has been hit by a series of protests in recent weeks, many aimed at pressuring the government to improve power and other basic services, and to alleviate food shortages. Politicians have taken a number of steps to ease public anger. They diverted $900 million from the purchase of F-16 combat jets to the national food ration programme, made big purchases of sugar and wheat to bolster rations, and proposed cutting lawmakers' salaries by 50 percent. http://in.news.yahoo.com/iraq-approves-82-6-bln-budget-2011-20110220-070358-428.html

  11. Frank26 Post: KTFM - 19 Feb 2011 Greetings Family, Nothing and I mean nothing will happen to our investment until we see a full seated GOI. With that said…..let me try to explain that when I gave you my math yesterday I should have said the dinar will have to be between 3.50 to 4.00 in order for them to accomplish the goals they set in the 2011 budget. I saw your confusion and I hope this helps but I also want to point out something that has brought a lot of calls in today. The question was …….will they do the 2011 budget at 1170 regardless of their low M2 figures like they did in 2009. Family…..the budget for 2009 was ALL PAID FOR IN USD….NOT IQD. The 2011 budget this time around MUST BE PAID IN IQD. During the last few years the United States of America has been paying ALL OF THEIR BILLS IN USD!!! 85% of the 000’s have been lifted. So to accomplish the 2011 budget the math does not add up unless you wish to justify their OBVIOUS RECENT ACTIONS by telling me that they will bring in the rest of their funds via electronic money. Yes …..but that is not the purpose in the year of 2011. M has a plan and it has nothing to do with June. The first 6 months are used to prepare the next year’s budget and based on what my Team has seen and studied in the last 6 months …….electronic money is not the justifiable means. In the last 6 months the decrease of 000’s has increased the confidence in the IQD and the artificial GOI that is now willing to allow everything to come together. Tomorrow they pass the budget but I hope they do not bypass forming ……..announcing a fully completed government that represents the Iraqi people. Iraq is a cash society…….the US is not…….IRAQIS CARE LESS ABOUT ELECTRONIC MONEY…….they are screaming SHOW ME THE MONEY !!! The program rate of 1170 was to control inflation. Inflation went up last month……riots are increasing this week. Someone is losing control after they had gained so much of it. I have so much more in my heart but my TINK and I have to travel home now after being with our children. We welcome your prayers for our safety. I leave you with one final piece of info…….I had Team members call a variety of banks to find a pattern for Monday. Wells Fargo was the most interesting. They told us they will open this Monday and we responded by saying…….but you did not open on President’s day last year……..why this year? The answers they gave us…….I will share on my CC on Monday. Nothing will happen with our investment until we see a fully seated GOI. In other words ……..only a complete GOI will impress me tomorrow…….not a budget. As I told you even if the budget comes out at 1170 the new rate will take time to be implemented. I have always approximated 10 days. As far as the rumors that it will RI/RV tomorrow…….Team and I say ……..nope. My Christian love and Aloha. KTF, FRANK

  12. 5 year old's first job. Here's a truly heart warming story about the bond formed between a little 5-year-old girl and some construction workers that will make you believe that we all can make a difference when we give a child the gift of our time. A young family moved into a house, next to a vacant lot. One day, a Construction crew turned up to start building a house on the empty lot. The young family's 5-year-old daughter naturally took an interest in all the activity going on next door and spent much of each day observing the workers. Eventually the construction crew, all of them "gems-in-the-rough," more or less, adopted her as a kind of project mascot. They chatted with her, let her sit with them while they had coffee and lunch breaks, and gave her little jobs to do here and there to make her feel important. At the end of the first week, they even presented her with a pay envelope containing ten dollars. The little girl took this home to her mother who suggested that she take her ten dollars "pay" she'd received to the bank the next day to start a savings account. When the girl and her mom got to the bank, the teller was equally impressed and asked the little girl how she had come by her very own pay check at such a young age. The little girl proudly replied, "I worked last week with a real construction crew building the new house next door to us." "Oh my goodness gracious," said the teller, "and will you be working on the house again this week, too?" The little girl replied, "I will, if those ass holes at Home Depot ever deliver the f****n' drywall..." Kind of brings a tear to the eye - doesn't it?

  13. OK, my turn. For months now we have heard Okie, Get Team, MTT and a whole slew of quote Guru's on the topic of the RV. According to sources and Intel it has RV'd every Thursday or Monday since September 2010???? Thank GOD I'm out of the service and these people were not our Intel officers or we would have been DEAD and GONE at least a 100 times. At this point I'm reading forums for amusement purposes as WHEN CBI posts a new rate and Dinar Trade stops selling them I refuse to by into more BS. JMO.

  20. Yes you're right . We should have left Saddam in power right? Thats what it sounds to me that you suggest. I suppose belittling women, Saddam's sons picking which schoolgirl the feel like raping is acceptable for you right? Perhaps those who disagreed with Saddam getting dropped in vats of boiling oil is your speed? Acceptable isnt it? Yea, shiit happens in war, but it is a hell of a lot better in the long term than the 30 years of brutality Saddam imposed. Perhaps you can share with the US Service Personnel who got killed, disfigured, and maimed how you feel that their sacrifices were not appreciated or necessary. Yea you're right, Saddam was a better choice, should have left him there to do what he wished. maybe you'd have no problem when your 14 year old daughter came home saying how Udai & Qusai gang banged her. According to that logic, Hitler, Hirohito, Mussolini, Stalin and all the other swell guys shouldn't have been confronted and defeated because of the collateral damage. Think in broader terms next time and see the bigger picture.

  21. That is a very interesting link. I am almost finished reading George W. Bush's book [/u DECISION POINTS . Before we just accept the voices on the street in all cases, it might be a good idea to look at all the information that is given. Presedent Bush goes into great detail about the WMD. He is very honest about it and how the information that he received and other leaders of the world almost all come to the same understanding about WMD, with the exception of those nations with contract interest in Iraq. It is a good read. I live in a position that at times "voices on the street" say things about me that I know is not true, yet I can sleep at night because I know that I was right in my actions with the greater judge then the voices on the street. That is the Voice from above. The King of kings and the LORD of lords. We would all be better off if that is where we keep our eyes.

  23. BLACK & WHITE TV After being married for 50 years, I took a careful look at my wife one day and said ... "Fifty" years ago we had a cheap house, a junk car, slept on a sofa bed and watched a 10-inch black and white TV, but I got to sleep every night with a hot 18-year-old girl. Now ... I have a $500,000.00 home, a $35,000.00 car, a nice big bed and a large screen TV, but I'm sleeping with a 68-year-old woman. It seems to me that you're not holding up your side of things." My wife is a very reasonable woman. She told me to go out and find a hot 18-year-old girl and she would make sure that I would once again be living in a cheap house, driving a junk car, sleeping on a sofa bed and watching a 10-inch black and white TV. Aren't older women great? They really know how to solve an old guy's problems.

  31. It is, and always has been, the Iraqi People's responsibility to control the future of their country. Saddam Hussein should have been overthrown many, many years ago by his own people. Fortunately for Iraq, Great Nations like the US, Great Brittain, Canada, Australia, and the rest of the Coalition Countries, were NOT so self absorbed and egocentric, that they were willing to share in the sacrifices and horrors of this War to help ensure that freedom reigns over tyranny, oppression and injustice in the World. It is a shame that not ALL people of the world understand this; oh right, that seems to be a fundamentally Christian ideal. My bad. Of course with our opponents, it always has to be about how we are motivated by our own interests and financial gain. I mean, just look at the disparity amongst all the nations who are actually getting the contracts to rebuild. America is leading the pack, right?... NOT! Obviously, I have no idea what I am talking about. Please excuse my impropriety. Happy Sunday!

  32. A man is getting into the shower just as his wife is finishing up her shower, when the doorbell rings. The wife quickly wraps herself in a towel and runs downstairs. When she opens the door, there stands Bob, the next-door neighbor. Before she says a word, Bob says, 'I'll give you $800 to drop that towel.' After thinking for a moment, the woman drops her towel and stands naked in front of Bob, after a few seconds, Bob hands her $800 and leaves. The woman wraps back up in the towel and goes back upstairs. When she gets to the bathroom, her husband asks, 'Who was that?' 'It was Bob the next door neighbor,' she replies. 'Great,' the husband says, 'did he say anything about the $800 he owes me?' Moral of the story: If you share critical information pertaining to credit and risk with your shareholders in time, you may be in a position to prevent avoidable exposure.

  41. Hi rcrge I am hoping that most have learned that they had other motives in mind when they would make so many false claims...bottom line is it must have helped sell a lot of dinars. Pretty sad really, I hope they have nothing more to say as they do not seem to care at all that they hurt and deceived a lot of people with their lies and circus atmosphere, and not just them, but others as well who had no real info. other than hype and half truths at best with very questionable motives. I do not wish to bash them or anyone, I do not play that game, just stating the kind of character they lacked and no reason to pay any attention to them whatsoever, but still some do. All my best!
