  1. I have been invested since 2004 and have been a member of this site since 2010 or 2011 (not sure). Things are starting to look real promising for a change. Thanks for everything Adam
  2. Been almost a year since they used the computer glitch line. I guess next week we will be seeing the "Dancing in the streets" stories again
  3. I spent a little time at Kaneohe with 1st Bn 3rd Marines
  4. Wow, I am not sure which city or what side of town you are quoting. I paid about $85.00 a month in Tikrit for two bedrooms and considerably less than that in Balad Ruz and in Mandali. Roadrunner
  5. TG ain't gonna like this. Watch your back !! Roadrunner
  6. I've been a member of this site for about 5 or 6 years and stalked it for a good while before I joined. I have never seen you come anywhere near this close to giving a date. If you're excited, I am excited. Thanks Roadrunner
  7. Not really. The Iraqi fiscal year is the same as the calendar year. IRAQ BANKING LAW - Page 31 - Section 6 – Accounts and Financial Statements - Article 40 Financial year: The financial year of domestic banks shall begin on January 1 and end on December 31 of the same year.
  8. Send in PMCs and remove the rules of engagement. We would be rid of them in a matter of weeks. Operators can do what soldiers aren't allowed to do. Roadrunner
  9. Anything that affects the stability of the country also affects the currency, so I have to vote NO. Sometimes it does get a little annoying when there are multiple threads about the same event. If everybody would just look to see if something has been posted before they post it again it would help. Roadrunner
  10. Moving the decimal point three places would not make a dinar worth $1.166. I would make the dollar worth 1,166 dinar which is approximately 86 cents per dinar. Roadrunner
  11. I think most people are misunderstanding this. The tax increase in not on the individual as much as on foriegn companies that do business there. There is an income tax in Iraq. It is a flat 15% for everyone. They haves no sales tax. They do have a property tax, but it only applies to those living above a certain level. I may be wrong, but I think it is the top 5%; which is why it is called a "Wealth Tax". Even then, it only applies to commercial property and not their residence. Last week they raised the tax on poultry imported from Turkey from $35.00 per ton to $290.00 per ton. About a month ago they raised the tax on fruit and vegetable coming in from Kuwait by about 75%. I know that any tax on imports will eventually be borne by the consumer, but that is always the case regardless of where you are. A few years ago there was not enough goods being imported to even bother taxing them. The fact that there is an increase in items being imported is evidence that the economy is better than it was. I see no reason why Iraq should not be able to tax them. Roadrunner
  12. I think the sign says all illegally parked camels will be shot. Roadrunner
