  3. In public, Hillarious Clinton talks about how she would represent all Americans and pushes the “Stronger Together” campaign theme. But behind closed doors, there is no room for people of faith in her America. Privately, the Democratic nominee and her campaign advisers are pushing a liberal agenda hostile to religion and targeting faith organizations that do not adapt to their liberal “religion.” The Clinton campaign is no friend of the cause of religious liberty. Internal emails exposed by WikiLeaks showed how her top campaign aides mock believers and view evangelicals and Catholics as backward in their beliefs. Mrs. Clinton herself even said publicly “deep-seated cultural codes and religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.” Well, her staff certainly seemed ready and willing to do just that, particularly Chief of Staff John Podesta. Top Hillarious Clinton advisers ridiculed individuals for raising their children Catholic, referring to Catholics as being “systematic in thought and severely backwards.” It was disturbing to read about how liberals characterize conservative Catholics as being responsible for an “amazing bastardization of faith.” Catholics and evangelicals should be troubled by Mrs. Clinton’s hidden agenda to influence and alter the tenets of Christian and Catholic orthodoxy. Perhaps what is most disturbing is that Mrs. Clinton’s team will pander publicly on the stump to Catholics, Christians, Southerners and Hispanics, and then take a very different stance behind closed doors from the comfort of their keyboards. There they express vicious contempt for the very voters they need to win the election. In an email exchange with Mr. Podesta, Voices for Progress President Sandy Newman wrote, “There needs to be a Catholic Spring, in which Catholics themselves demand the end of a middle ages [sic] dictatorship.” He then proceeded by asking how to “plant the seeds of a revolution.” Mr. Podesta replied, “We created Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good to organize for a moment like this … likewise Catholics United.” It’s shocking that liberals and Mrs. Clinton’s advisers think they can hatch a “Catholic Spring,” a revolution within the Church carried out by liberal political groups who strongly oppose the Rome’s fundamental teachings. This “revolution” talk is similar to the Soviet anti-Catholic campaigns, where Communist leaders tried to undermine the role and stature of the Catholic Church in Eastern Europe during the Cold War. Would a President Hillarious Clinton and her liberal allies suspend the tax-exempt status of churches deemed “not friendly” to her administration? It is within the realm of possibility considering their hateful beliefs. Mr. Podesta boasts that “we” created the Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good. His email clearly reveals that liberals and the Clinton campaign are focused on altering Catholic doctrine through political organizations that push a liberal agenda. The leaked emails show Mrs. Clinton’s communications director, Jennifer Palmieri, directly mocking both Catholics and Protestant evangelicals. Some conservatives are turning to Catholicism, she wrote, because “they think it is the most socially acceptable politically conservative religion. Their rich friends wouldn’t understand if they became evangelicals.” Such comments reflect an elitist mentality contemptuous of genuine religious conviction. It’s both discouraging and insulting to millions of evangelicals and Catholics who just want to live their lives according to their faith. Has Ms. Palmieri not heard about religious liberty? Her comments contradict the very essence of the First Amendment, and are anti-American to boot. If people of faith stay silent and on the sidelines during this election cycle, this liberal theology will win, and traditional churches will lose. We cannot afford another four years of liberal Democratic rule in the White House, a White House that has focused its energy on forcing nuns to offer contraception despite their religious beliefs and forcing churches to defend lawsuits on transgender rights where they are being unfairly classified as public places. The Obama administration, cheered on by Mrs. Clinton, is the first administration in history to sue Catholic nuns for their religious beliefs. Installing an activist liberal majority on the Supreme Court will put religious liberties at risk for generations to come. We will be left with the state telling the church how to behave, and that is why people of faith need to stop Mrs. Clinton’s anti-religious agenda — now. • Mercedes Schlapp is a Fox News contributor, co-founder of Cove Strategies and former White House director of specialty media under President George W. 4. By Monica Crowley - The Washington Times - Wednesday, October 12, 2016 ANALYSIS/OPINION: The political firestorms of the past week — the 2005 tape of Donald Trump uttering crass statements about women, WikiLeaks’ disclosure of thousands of Hillarious Clinton’s emails revealing her two-faced hypocrisy, the appearance at the second presidential debate of several women who have accused Bill Clinton of rape and sexual assault, Mr. Trump’s comeback debate performance — have obscured one critically important truth. Hillarious Clinton is seeking the Democrats’ third term in the presidency. It’s not, however, her husband’s third term. It’s President Obama’s. She routinely praises Mr. Obama and his economic stewardship while embracing his radical, far-left approach that drives the party she now seeks to lead. Mr. Trump offered a refresher on Mr. Obama’s ideology, the policies it wrought and the devastating results they produced. Mrs. Clinton, he said, would make an already ruinous economy worse. Mr. Obama once likened his brief time in the private sector to being “a spy behind enemy lines.” In December 2011, he gave a major economic speech in Osawatomie, Kansas, that revealed just how much he still believes economic freedom is the “enemy.” In his address, Mr. Obama reiterated his fierce commitment to the radical wealth redistribution of European-style democratic socialism. The wrecking ball he let swing is smashing through every part of the economy, exactly as planned. Just as in Teddy Roosevelt’s time, there is a certain crowd in Washington who, for the last few decades, have said, ‘let’s respond to this economic challenge with the same old tune,’ ” he intoned. ” ‘The market will take care of everything,’ they tell us. “Now, it’s a simple theory,” he continued. “And we have to admit, it’s one that speaks to our rugged individualism and our healthy skepticism of too much government. That’s in America’s DNA. And that theory fits well on a bumper sticker. But here’s the problem: It doesn’t work. It has never worked.” Mr. Obama was really saying that economic freedom doesn’t work. Economic decisions cannot be left to individuals, who are too selfish, greedy and reckless to make them. They must be consolidated in the hands of the state, which can more evenly “spread the wealth around” to insure equality of outcomes rather than equality of opportunity. This is a core of the Democrats’ beliefs. Like Mr. Obama, Mrs. Clinton is constantly positioning herself as a great defender of the middle class, but much of what they both have done has been geared toward destroying it: record government spending, exploding deficits, inflating the currency and devaluing the dollar, raising taxes, burdening businesses with ever-increasing costs and regulations. While they hit the highest earners, their real target is the middle class, which is less able to manage the leftist economic assault. Their ultimate goal is to so weaken the middle class that it becomes utterly dependent on government as well. “I believe that this country succeeds when everyone gets a fair shot, when everyone does their fair share, when everyone plays by the same rules,” Mr. Obama said in Osawatomie. He hasn’t changed his thinking or his policies one iota. And Mrs. Clinton has adopted the same language and philosophy, meaning her policies will continue — and worsen — what Mr. Obama began: • A high rate of chronic long-term unemployment. • The worst jobs record of any president in the modern age. • The lowest labor participation rate since the 1970s. • An unprecedented number of underemployed people. • Plummeting real median income. • Black unemployment at its highest level in nearly 30 years. • The steepest drop in the American standard of living in over 50 years. • As percentages of GDP, federal spending, the budget deficit and the national debt at their highest levels since World War II. • U.S. credit downgraded for the first time in history. • More than 20,000 new regulations, rules and guidelines issued. • A record increase of Americans living in poverty, including record numbers of children. • The highest level of government dependency on one or more federal benefit programs in American history. To Mr. Obama, this isn’t a record of failure. It’s a record of success. It was all designed and executed to near perfection by the left, which had to uproot the existing economic system in order to replace it with its redistributive one. Mr. Obama and his comrades knew it would be painful and jarring. They didn’t care, as long as it was in service of their bigger goal. Mrs. Clinton seeks to lock in everything he did and complete what he called the “fundamental transformation of the nation.” If she is allowed to finish the left’s mission, there will be no reversing it. He will pass the wrecking ball to her and she will keep it swinging. The only thing that can stop its destruction is us, via the imperfect but spot-on Republican nominee. • Monica Crowley is editor of online opinion at The Washington Times.
  5. What do April 30, 1945, and Nov. 8, 2016, have in common? The first date was the culmination of World War II. On that fateful day, Adolf Hitler apparently shot himself in the mouth as Russian soldiers moved in on his compound. But in the midst of all that tragedy, an interesting saga played itself out in Germany. Before Hitler realized that he had lost the war, almost all other Germans knew it well. The Russians were closing from the East, and the Americans came from the West. The dilemma of many German troops was relatively simple: “Shall we surrender to the Russians or shall we head west and surrender to the Americans?” Apparently no small number made every effort to fall into the hands of the Americans. No one knew for sure what would happen to them if they opted for the American option. But the German army knew well what would happen if they were overtaken by Russian generals. In the end, it was what they knew, not what they did not know, that forced their choice. Having heard and often experienced the kindness of American soldiers, many decided that this was the best hope for the future. And what about Nov. 8, 2016 — election day in America? Apparently, there has never been an election quite like it. The two presidential candidates both sport disapproval ratings among the highest of any candidates in history. What on earth shall Christians do? Some have said that they will stay home that November morning and stoke the fire in the fireplace. Others will write in a preferred name—some have even said that this name will be “Jesus.” There is another interesting aspect to this dilemma. There are actually three different ways to vote for Hillarious Clinton. The first is the one that she prefers. Pull the lever for her to be the next president of the United States. But if you cannot bear to do that, then write in the name of a candidate who has no chance of winning or pour another cup of coffee and watch a vacuous TV show at home. Mrs. Clinton will be pleased, because she is confident that the vast majority of Democrats and other liberals WILL vote for her even if they intensely dislike her and do not trust her. “The sons of this age are more shrewd in relation to their own kind than the sons of light” (Luke 16:8). We know what will happen if the win goes to Mrs. Clinton. Judges throughout the judiciary will be appointed from among those who support the execution of preborns under the dubious rhetoric of caring for the health of women (those who managed to be born, that is). These same judges will continue to attack the religious liberty of evangelical Christians, and the preaching of much that the Bible teaches will be interpreted as “hate crimes,” especially if proclaimed in a public setting. On the other hand, we have no idea what Donald Trump will do. His record is anything but stellar. But we do know what he has promised, and we are already aware of the docket of judges from which he promises to name those charged with the protection of constitutional rights. Should he keep his promises on only half of these issues, Americans will have a chance to save the lives of infants still protected in the wombs of their mothers and the sanctity of religious liberty. The first freedom that alone gives meaning to all of the others will be maintained in a world that desperately needs this witness. A presidential election is not about whether you like someone. Neither is it about whether you agree with him on everything. When was the last time you voted for a president with whom you agreed at every point? Like the Germans and their surrender, the question is simple: Do you cast a ballot, in any one of three ways, that you know for sure will be devastating to preborn infants and to religious liberty, or do you cast a vote for a candidate who offers some hope? We must hear the warning of Christ and see to it that the children of this world will not be wiser than the children of light. Every infant must be the recipient of a voting parent or grandparent who wishes to give that child a chance to live. And our religious liberty must be preserved! Choose the candidate who offers hope, not the candidate who guarantees disaster. And you will make that decisive choice!
