I believe them. Having been thru this roller coaster for over 4 years now, I have come to the conclusion lately that it is linked to politics in the US. They owe their independence and freedom to the Republican Party. If they rv now the O administration will get all the credit for balancing the budget and even having a surplus, a remake of the Kuwaiti rv and Bill Clinton. I agree 100%. But I know its not possible. Then, since I have found it incresingly difficult to read thru all the garbage people post, I among many other of the old timers stay away. I rarely even see a name I know. I come in, I read whatever if anything I find of interest and get out, not even in the chat any more. So sad, it used to be a place of real information. BAGHDAD, July 2 (Reuters) - Iraq has signed a $1.2 billion contract with Canada's Capgent to build 10 power stations with a total capacity of 1,000 megawatts in a bid to meet local demand, the country's Electricity Ministry said on Saturday. Each station has a capacity of 100 MW and will be installed by the Canadian Alliance for Power Generation Equipment (Capgent) around Iraq over 12 months, the ministry said in a statement. The private Canadian thermal and diesel power plant construction company has electricity projects around the world, including in Kenya, Nepal, Angola and Mexico. Iraq will have to repay the cost of the contract to Capgent once the power stations come into service and the total amount should be paid within two years, the statement said. Iraq faces a chronic electricity shortage and intermittent power is one of the public's top complaints. More than eight years after the U.S.-led invasion, its fragile national grid -- battered by years of war, sanctions and neglect, is only able to supply a few hours of power a day. Demand for power is expected to increase with the onset of summer, when temperatures can reach 50 degrees Celsius (122 Fahrenheit) and people turn on their air conditioners to keep cool. The national grid is expected to supply less than half of the country's 15,000 MW peak demand this summer, and the ministry of electricity is hoping to add around 1,000 MW to the grid this year. In January it awarded a $219 million contract to South Korea's Hyundai Engineering & Construction to install four gas turbines in Baghdad with a total generating capacity of 500 MW. Rodriguez, NAFAPAC’s Chairman 06.29.11 Recenteconomic indicators are giving us gloomy projections for the future of our economy.On June 23, Fed Chairman BenBernanke said that weakness in our economy could linger into 2012 or longer.High unemployment, high gasoline prices and higher food prices can be keyfactors in our economic recovery. The high gasoline prices are causingconsumers to cut down on many essentials affecting car purchases, leisure timeoutings and retail sales and creating more unemployment. Consumers arestruggling and tightening their budgets and the Federal government must do thesame. In an attempt to recharge our economic recovery and reduce thecost of gasoline to the consumers, this administration has released 30 millionof barrels of oil from the Strategic Oil Reserves to bring down the price ofthe gallon of gasoline. Many are considering this decision strictly politicalto help the 2012 reelection chances of President Obama. Regardless, thismeasure will be a temporary fix to only last three months and the gasolineprices will go back up again. This administration has also contributed to theoil shortage by stopping the drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico and thishas eliminated 60 million barrels of oil produced in the United States. This is bad policy. The oil exploration inthe Gulf of Mexico creates good jobs and reduces our dependency on foreign oil.We find imperative that we expand the exploration of oil in the United Stateterritory to protect our economy from a future crisis in the Middle East anddisruption of oil supplies affecting our economy and national security. Our U.S. Congress isstill debating on what to do with the debt ceiling and there is strongdisagreement between Democrats and Republican on how to cut the deficit. We are beginning to see that this predictionis real at this time. Nothing seems to get our economy going and the recoveryhas been very anemic at best. The unemployment is at 9.1% and projections byEconomist indicate that high unemployment will continue beyond the 2012 Presidentialelections. This is not good news forPresident Obama’s reelection prospects and a great opportunity for theRepublicans to take control of the White House and possibly the U.S. Senate in2012. Even the Pro Obama Media is beginning to show signs of frustration withthis administration with strong criticism for economic policies that are notworking. The fact is that this administration is loaded with a group ofacademics/scholars that never held a job in the private industry or managed aprivate business. They are driven by socialist ideologies that do not work in afree market economy. The economic teamassembled by President Obama has seen many new faces and many broken promises.An example is the Economic Stimulus Package approved in 2009 that promised tokeep unemployment at 8.0% and we all know where we stand on this. This administration was elected in 2008 tobring about CHANGES; but, the only changes we have seen are more unemployment,more foreclosures, more regulations and higher deficit. Many of us arebeginning to think that there is a plot by this administration to transform oureconomy and turn the United States into another European economy model withmany bailouts, financial failures, high deficits and lack of social discipline. My friend went to the currency exchange at one of our local malls today. The manager was there and he and another man at the counter were talking about the IQD. He told the man, "whatever we have, if we sell out, we cannot get more, if we don't sell it, we have to send it back". My friend ended up buying more because of what he heard. God Bless, Go RV!!!!!!
