it says they bought back hundreds of millions of u.s worth, my guess is that they are happy with what the sucked back in, and now its time to move monetary policies, if they are going to rv like i think they will, now is certainly the time they will

i like this part, iraq got caught in another lie, they say on top, selling hundreds of millions of dollars, what are they selling it for? sand? no dinar, which goes back to cbi, and when they rv and the locals trade it back for a rv'd dinar its a break even at 1.00, the plan is brilliant and we are seeing it be executed, this should be over very very soon........ plus it looks like they sucked enough dinar back in considering they are claiming no more buy back auctions. were in a good spot, it looks real good............enjoy

Thanks sonny1......this is exactly what ive been thinking.......it works out perfectly for the Iraqis.........and us!

Could you please quote the phrase that makes it seem like there will be no more auctions, I don't see it? Or am I misunderstanding you?

"So the CBI, through news articles, creates a fear that makes Iraqis buy dollars, therefore relinquishing IQD, and that would be 000s coming off the streets. In my mind, the CBI is the biggest pumper of all. Their actions are for the good of the country, but they have created, let's say, their own vignette, to be polite. "

With all due respect, we have to remember that this money isn't "off the streets" quite yet. The auctions are with banks, not everyday Iraqis. It would be physically impossible to pull a quarter of a trillion dinar out from people lined up at bank teller's windows.

Can you just imagine how long THAT line would be? LOL! If they didn't have them already (men AND women), they'd have grown beards by the time they got to buy USD!

Also, remember, the CBI makes money on these transactions (13 dinar per dollar). To buy that quarter of a trillion dinar in one day, they spent $216,076,058 USD, and made about $2.4 million in profit!

Good point. I should have been more careful with my words. The point I was attempting to get across is that the CBI has its' own propoganda program going on, IMO.

Maybe something went over my head, but I really wonder why they want to hold their currency to what it is.

think about it wouldnt you want as much time as possible to have lee way i dont understand most of this im just waiting for the post that says go to the bank an cash in but i can understand a little from their point of view they want to cover there backs before they implement something that could crash in a month (which is very possible)... they know that the dinar is a long shot if you think about it that country is war torn and has been for a very long time this rv is a huge step for them and to get it wrong could be deadly so i know i read post after post of people rushing and saying just do it already blah blah blah but in my experience rushing something has never yielded the best results this isnt some sandbox sim this is a country full of vibrant and beautiful people who are being held down by so few that if they really wanted to they could prosper more than the us im not gonna go into my (ohh i wish i had a mic and a thousand people speech) but i just wanted to say that i have faith in world leaders to guide iraq into the superpower that i know they could be and join in with the big dogs B)

also i do wish i had a mic and a thousand people...

In life you can absolutely count on one thing, - everything can turn around in one day, in one minute sometimes. Don't you dare to give up, - you might be a moment away from a windfall.

Good Point...particularly since their own Dinar are circulated and nasty, but those Dinar held by investors worldwide will finally arrive back at the CBI in near-mint condition. :P

The auctions are how they maintain the exchange rate...they have always been for this purpose...it is a managed "crawling peg" and to keep it where it is they have to buy lots of dinar if the market for them is soft...This happens most of the time around this time. I posted a memo earlier that was from wiki leaks it might not be allowed here but it is a very interesting read...the time frame was back in 2007 but still relevant.
