Rising from the ashes of his old band the Yardbirds, session guitarist Jimmy Page formed Led Zeppelin, one of the most powerful, influential, and enduring British bands to emerge in the '60s. Despite the presence of such classic thrash-o-ramas as "Good Times Bad Times" and "Communication Breakdown," what set Led Zeppelin apart was the depth and range of their music. Their sound was bathed in the blues, from rootsy covers of Willie Dixon's "You Shook Me" and "I Can't Quit You Baby," to the crunching rhythm changes of "Dazed And Confused."

Few guitarists before or since possessed Page's sense of pacing and dynamics, as exemplified by the traditional acoustic folk elements framing the arena gestures on "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You," and the raga-flavored acoustic mystery of "Black Mountain Side." These elements would continue to evolve on subsequent albums, leading to some of Led Zeppelin's greatest moments.

Atlantic Records 1994 remastered reissue of 1969 album.

Recorded at Olympic Studios, London, England in October 1968.

Personnel: Robert Plant (vocals, harmonica); Sandy Denny (vocals); Jimmy Page (guitar, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, steel guitar, background vocals); John Paul Jones (organ, keyboards, background vocals); John Bonham (drums, tabla, timpani, background vocals); Viram Jasani (tabla).

Recording information: Olympic Studios, London, England (10/1968).

Enjoy.

1. Good Times Bad Times - 0:00

2. Babe I'm Gonna Leave You - 2:46

3. You Shook Me - 9:27

4. Dazed and Confused - 15:56

5. Your Time Is Gonna Come - 22:21

6. Black Mountain Side - 26:36

7. Communication Breakdown - 28:42

8. I Can't Quit You Baby - 31:11

9. How Many More Times - 35:54

“It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.” —Ecclesiastes 7:5

I am guilty at times listening to worldly music too. We fight against our flesh daily. We all need prayer to live by the Holy Spirit.

The Demonic Led Zeppelin (Guitarist Jimmy Page of Zeppelin is a devout follower of Satanist, Aleister Crowley, who proclaimed himself as "The Beast 666." In 1971, guitarist Jimmy Page bought Crowley’s Boleskine House on the shore of Loch Ness where Crowley practiced his Hellish, Satanic sex-magick rituals, including human sacrifices. Jimmy Page opened a bookshop venture for Occult books called "Equinox" at 4, Holland Street, Kensington, London.)

This music is my favorite below. I know many will be comforted by the songs. I have bought 3 cd's from them about 8 years ago.

That is the wonderful thing about music. You can interpret it so many different ways. Each of us has a point of view and each is different. Some may consider this music as black magic. If you do a little more research on Jimmy Page you will see that he denies practicing Satanism and the likes whole heartedly. He does admit to being intrigued by it. Many people are intrigued by such things but that doesn't mean we are practictioners of them. Please do your research before labeling someone as such. I have been a Zeppelin fan for nearly forty years and have never practiced satanism or felt driven to do such.

This band happens to be one of the most creative rock bands in history. They blended rock, blues, jazz, and Indian influences among other things. Because the have some Indian influence does that make them Hindus? No. I prefer to listen to thier music and let my mind flow where ever it wishes. The fact that you are attacking them may be that you have some inner feelings you are scared to admit to yourself.

Thanks Umbertino for mentioning such a fantastic and relevant band for thier time.

I think Page was more influenced by Tolkien than Crowley.

I love these guys. Fall 1968- ahhh. A friend bought the album at a then unknown LZ concert in at the U of I. and we wore it out.
