Oh my goodness, that is so true gmlm516. This makes much sense. I don't think it will happen by the 7th b/c that would be to predictable. As we get closer and closer to the 7th I start to get more and more apprehensive.

From a source unknown to me, I was told that the RV will happen this Sunday and it will be $3.22. This source has said this same thing again and again; however, after reading in Forbes that Exxon signed a contract with Iraq to redevelop the West Qurna-1 oil field last month. Another article said that Exxon will be paid $1.90 per barrel....hmmmm....wonder if Exxon is okay with receiving the pay out as IQD? Just a theory, but I think that Exxon would not have made such a deal if the value of the IQD were to remain at 1170.

So with several contracts being signed with foreign countries (foreign to iraq) it seems likely to me that an RV is on the horizon. It also makes sense (in my mind at least) that the RV would hold off until the last possible moment. That last possible moment I assume would be the last minute that a financial transaction can take place according to Iraqi election law. If they wait, then they will be in the best financial situation they can possibly be so that more debt will be excused and more contracts will be signed at low bids. Then after the RV, iraq reaps the benefits of waiting to RV because currency value is up and payout on contracts and debts are lower.
