With this happening as Iraq votes in place it’s President, and Prime Minister, this gives me great hope.

The European Union wouldn’t have released the CBI from sanctions, nor would they have risked a loan of this magnitude, if the newly elected officials and government was going south.

Great News!

Thanks Buti & Yota!!

Not to be negative, just pondering...

Might Iraq be a country that's gives the cold shoulder to the dollar, finding a CLEAR alternative?

Could be a big shift for a Middle East country going towards the Euro if their union has real leverage...

...and other countries in the Middle East follow suit.

Independence from the US politically and economically could be Sadr's battle cry.

Either way, I personally think this is big news.

Honestly, Iraq IMO. can still do trade with Iran but it will have to be in local currencies and the Euro.  Today Iraq the CBI put into media that they are the 4th largest buyers of US treasuries in all of the Arab countries.  IMO, this is symbolic to give the United States the assurance that Iraq is abiding by US sanction on Iran.  Also, IMO the agreement being signed by the EU and Japan on this date are not by coincidence,  The whole world is waiting to invest in an  Iraq  free of corruption.  The first sign of the government being formed must be enough validation for these investments.  As far as US sanctions, IMO, there may be a huge problem in shared oil wells between Iraq and Iran and there revenues, but nothing is being said about that now.
