Main functions of the issuing department and cabinets

The issuing department and the cabinets shall perform the following main tasks:

 Forecast and meet the needs of the Iraqi currency and foreign currencies.
 Execution of the issuance of the Iraqi currency (paper and metal) after the completion of the contract, including the selection of printing companies and houses, and the operations of shipping and delivery to the stores.
 Using contemporary methods in managing currency stores, balancing, in terms of fixed and variable costs, between asking for currency in large quantities or in smaller quantities.
 Execution of the Fund's operations in terms of arrest, payment, documentation, exchange of foreign currency notes, replacement of damaged currency, matching of fortified rooms and funds.
 Execution of the currency counting and sorting, and determining the canceling currency, using medium machines, and comprehensive machines, while working on the sustainability and maintenance of technical equipment.
 Executing the operations of the Iraqi currency and foreign currencies, gold, and secretariats, as well as combating counterfeiting and counterfeiting.
 Ensure the follow-up of banks, matching counting and sorting, and carrying out inspections and monitoring scheduled, sudden and random.
 Implement accounting restrictions for issuing accounts, deposit accounts, and report the results to the accounting department.

Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq to open the project shed Baghdad

The governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Dr. Ali Mohsen Ismail, opened on Saturday, 2018/8/18, the project of Baghdad, which includes 21 squares on both sides of Karkh and Rusafa.

The inauguration included the first phase of eleven squares of the important squares of Baghdad. The Governor opened two squares, Jeddah and the imams in the Kadhimiya area. The central opening ceremony was held in Al Wakt Square in the presence of government, economic, academic and technical figures.

As well as the project threw Baghdad, which was supported by this bank and the Association of Iraqi private banks and the funding of private banks and one government bank was completed in record time.

The Governor stressed in the opening speech on the need to participate the private banking sector in support of government projects as a supportive and important in the Iraqi economy

The Governor noted that the CBI supports such initiatives as it recently supported the Iraqi drama and other social initiatives through the Tamkeen Fund.

Banks Economy News _ Baghdad President of the Association of Iraqi Private Banks Wadih al-Hanalal described the launching ceremony of the first phase of the initiative "Take Baghdad" to the great Baghdadi wedding. Al-Hanbal said in his speech during the opening ceremony of the first phase of the squares of Baghdad, and attended by "Economy News", "The project (Alq Baghdad) includes the development of 21 square in Baghdad, and the roof of the completion extended to seven months," noting that "Association of private banks, 8 billion dinars to complete the project, which will add aesthetic to the areas of Baghdad. " "In coordination with the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and the Central Bank and the Association of Private Banks and musician Naseer Shamma, the idea of (Baghdad), was opened a number of squares of Baghdad, after the completion of maintenance and rehabilitation that will show a new suit and designs that restore the prestige and status of the capital. He called al-Hanal, "the government to facilitate the task of private banks in the implementation of government projects in support of the Iraqi economy." The opening of the first meal of the "Alq Baghdad" initiative was held in Baghdad on Saturday evening. The meal included the opening of eleven squares spread across both sides of Karkh and Rusafa. The program "Alq Baghdad" is an idea proposed by musician Nasir Shamma and carried out by the Association of Iraqi private banks and with the direct support of the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq and the contribution of 27 banks, private and government. This feels like an epic post. The way I read it, this article details a clear and precise outline for implementing international standards of the IQD - every step of the way. I've seen a lot of references to articles regarding 'educating the masses,' and this post 'almost' fits that description  perfectly....

The information contained in the first half of this article, combined with the reference to and use of the words 'brief summary' in the second half just might be indicative that everything might actually be completed  behind the scene so as to completely remove the artificially imposed low rate of the IQD. I state the latter not only because of the late public references to September 5th, but because of all the progress and inertia that's been building (with the exception of the elections) over the last 18 months.

 

Regardless of that fact that this is Iraq, (and anything can happen) a tremendous amount of effort and  progress such as the implementation of SWIFT codes, EFT, the ISX, and even last week's post regarding the US Treasury,  all point to Iraq's ability and  readiness to participate fiinancially at a global level -  with strict adherence to international standards of accounting, auditing, and finance.

 

I am rrally eager to see what follows....

Thanks for your feedback, Botzwana.  I appreciate your input and enjoy reading your comments and posts as well.

 

Things as of late, feel.unusually slow at times, and then updates such as the one in this thread come out. To me it feels as if the CBI is intentionally holding back info.for time necessity-  against masses who are applying energy and pressure from an opoosite direction - in a manner that's beginning  to feel like the starting line of the New York or Boston marathons. At some point 'soon' the CBI won't be able to or even need to keep up the resistance  -  and that will truly be a glorious moment!
