Tamimi: a reform program on monetary and economic policy in Iraq

 

 

A member of the Finance Committee of the former parliament, Magda Tamimi, said Sunday, July 22, 2018, that it is writing a program of monetary reform of the economic policy in the country, indicating that it will be a different paper.

"It is in the process of writing a monetary reform program for the economic policy in the country, pointing out that it will be a different paper during the next phase of the country," Tamimi told media affiliated with the obelisk.

"This paper is interspersed with practical steps in the reform of fiscal and monetary policy if applied within six months or a year will bring a clear reflection on society and well-being."

Thanks Buti . GA DV's . " writing a program of monetary reform of the economic policy in the country, indicating that it will be a different paper." My guess is its an electronic program . Years ago I believe  , Shabibi said a disc would be slid into a computer and the monetary changes would be made. Whatever program this is whether LD's ,document , or electronic . There is a good chance it is already written or printed . Sage449 ? The Iran CBI Governor said 2 years ago . The people of Iran will Know when there is about to be a Monetary change . I don't think Iraq will be much different . Should we see a Mass Exodus of Chunky Money move to the Banks at one time ? To me that would mean the people are aware of what might be a coming change . In my small opinion .

A former member of the Finance Committee, Hossam al-Aqabi, said on Wednesday that the budget surplus could solve 50% of the problems of the demonstrators, calling on the government to use it to fill the deficit. 

"The budget of 2017-2018, we had put in the Finance Committee a material that allows the government to use the surplus to pay the deficit if any and our request that there be a continuation of projects suspended services or infrastructure of all provinces, including the capital Baghdad."


He added that "the government has challenged some paragraphs of the budget, including this paragraph," noting that "the use of surplus budgets, estimated at more than 7 trillion in the six months should be for the provinces and infrastructure, electricity and water, roads and attention to other services. 

He pointed out that "a lot of projects now stalled because of the fiscal deficit, despite the availability of surplus, which can be used to launch advances to the provinces and according to the roles of control existing." 

He added that "the government has not used this surplus from the beginning, perhaps in its intention to pay attention to the issue of foreign debt or internal or strengthen the reserves as part of the reserve has been affected by the impact of oil prices in the past years," stressing that "this surplus can solve 50% Of the problems of the demonstrators and the provision of jobs and electrical energy. "

He pointed out that "the Housing and Real Estate Bank stopped for a year from repaying loans to citizens in the construction of residential areas and houses in the center and south and west of Iraq because the central bank does not deliver the two banks these loans," stressing "the need to ask the Ministry of Finance sovereign guarantee to banks.
