Luigi says...

If Iraq cannot nominate a new PM by 1 July, GOI will go into caretaker status without a clear winner.

GOI is at odd over what kinds of decisions should/must be made, at this point.

Will everything be put on hold until after Jan 2019?  What will be the impact on the RV/RI?

This is not smoke & mirrors. This is going on right now.

6-12-2018   Newshound Guru chattels   Article:  "Recount Will Test the Integrity of Iraq’s Elections"  Quotes:  " ...accusations of tampering with electronic voting machines, ballot box stuffing, voter intimidation, bribery, and misuse of voter IDs."  "A recount carries significant political risks as well. It might delay the government formation process well into 2019 and cause further party fragmentation."  Excellent article in voter fraud and recount in the Iraqi Election. Note that the author ideates on the possibility of the formation of a new government in Iraq being delayed until 2019.  We shall see. Tune in tomorrow for another day in the life of the " democratic experiment " in Iraq.  Democracy is a messy business. I have not abandoned hope for Iraq, but it is foolish to think that we can know what and when anything may happen.       http://www.basnews.com/index.php/en/news/kurdistan/444192

here's a real new article claiming new GOI will be formed at the end of the year.

It may be early 2019 before it is ratified. IMO.

14 June 2018 Baghdad Post...

State of Law Coalition’s MP, Nahla al-Hababi suggested on Friday that the new Iraqi government will not be formed before next December.

Hababi pointed out that Mohammed Shiaa al-Sudani, Tareq Najm and Faleh al-Fiad are the three candidates for the post of prime minister.

She added that delay of new government formation until next December happened because of the parliamentary elections crisis.

Iraqi people made their way to the poll stations On May 12 to cast their ballots in the country’s first parliamentary elections since the defeat of ISIS terrorist group in December 2017.

Saairun Alliance, which is led by Sadrist Movement leader Moqtada al-Sadr, won the most number of seats in the upcoming parliament.

On June 12, Sadr and Iran-backed Badr militia’s leader Hadi al-Amiri announced an alliance between their political parties in order to form the parliament’s largest bloc. Source
