It won't come out at 3.40, it wasn't worth that price when it was devalued, the market price was manipulated.

Without the skewed (inflation) numbers cooked up by Hussein and The US, it was actually about 1.30.

Still a great return if it ever gets back to that, however.

I agree!  I beleive it was 3.22 when it devalued?  I dont care what the number is .86, 1.16, 1.30, all good numbers, but lets just focus on a number!!!  Ok, $1.30 it is!!!

UN Expects Iraqi Future Government to be Free from Sectarianism

ERBIL - The Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq, Ján Kubiš, has said that he is expecting the Iraqi future government to be free from sectarian partitioning, noting that its president also should be a strong one.

The remarks were made during a UN Security Council meeting held for talks on Iraqi political process, including the formation of a new cabinet in Baghdad where Kubiš pointed out that due to high number of complains against the process, they issued a decree to manually recount part of the votes.

He noted that the low number of Iraqis which participated in the election could be a message from the public to the government for their disagreement on the public services.

The UN official said that the Iraqis delivered a message to say that they were ignored by most of the country's leaders.

"I call on the political leaders to listen to the Iraqi people and rush to form a new national government free from sectarianism which can gather all," he said.

Khandan -

The United Nations Security Council on Thursday held an open discussion session to discuss the seventh report of the UN Secretary-General on the threat posed by the terrorist organization to international peace and security and the efforts of the United Nations to support Member States in fighting it.

The meeting was held at the request of Britain, which holds the rotating presidency of the Council's work for August. It was chaired by British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt, who assured members of the Council of a unified stance to combat terrorist threats posed by extremist groups.

In the report discussed by the Council, Secretary-General António Guterich warned that "a daunting organization continues to pose a serious challenge to international peace and security, inter alia because it has become a clandestine network, the activities of its regional groups and the complex threat of returning and mobile foreign terrorist combatants and their families" .

During the open session, members of the Security Council heard a briefing on the report by the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations Office for Counter-Terrorism, Vladimir Voronkov.

"The report points out that the so-called suitor-caliphate has faced great losses, but the organization remains a matter of serious concern," the UN official told council members.

"In general, there are more than 20,000 supporters in Syria and Iraq, some are actively involved in fighting while others are hiding between communities and urban areas sympathetic to them," he said.

"The core of the organization in Syria and Iraq is likely to continue in the medium term because of the continuing conflict and the complex challenges to stability," the UN official acknowledged.

The UN special envoy to Syria will meet with representatives of Iran, Russia and Turkey on September 11 and 12 in Geneva to discuss the drafting of a new constitution for Syria, a UN spokeswoman said Friday.

Syria's special envoy, Staffan de Mistura, is charged with forming a commission whose task will be to draft a new constitution for the disputed state.

The main foreign countries supporting the project are Syria, Russia and Iran, as well as Turkey, which supports some of the opposition factions.

Representatives of the three countries will meet De Mistura for two days in Geneva, the European headquarters of the United Nations, spokeswoman Elisandra Filucci told reporters.

De Mistura said he wanted the Constitutional Committee to be ready before the UN General Assembly in New York in late September.

This may require further talks, particularly with the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, but Velucci said she had no details about other meetings next month.

Past efforts by de Mistura to stop the Syrian conflict have yielded little result.

More than 350,000 people have been killed, displaced and displaced since the conflict began in 2011.
