BAGHDAD (Reuters) -
The United Nations mission entered the crisis line strongly in a bid to find practical solutions to meet the demands of protesters protesting poor services, rampant corruption and lack of electricity supply, in demonstrations in which 12 people were killed and about 500 others wounded as well as security forces.
Jan Kubic, head of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), had to spend 10 hours and a distance between Kufa and Baghdad, where two visions of the demonstrations could be resolved.
A statement by the Office of the Prime Minister Haider Abadi said that "during the meeting discussed the general situation in the country and the file of services for citizens and the restoration of stability and international support for Iraq in all areas."
According to the statement, Kubic "praised" the government's response to the demands of citizens and "serious movements" through the formation of the crisis cell and the directives and decisions issued, stressing "the continued support of the United Nations to Iraq in various fields."
The statement pointed out that Abadi stressed that "listening to the demands of our people is very important and we are in the provision of service requirements for all provinces."
For the first time since its launch recently, the leader of the Sadrist movement Moqtada al-Sadr said he supports the protests in Iraq and called for postponement of the formation of the government
Sadr, whose bloc won the Iraqi elections on May 12, called on all politicians to stop efforts to form a new government until the response to all demands of protesters to improve services in the south .
Sadr said on Twitter in his first public comment on the unrest sweeping the south "on all the political blocs winning in the current election to suspend all political dialogues for alliances and others until the completion of meeting the demands of the true protesters,"
Sadr's leader, Moqtada al-Sadr, UN Secretary-General Jan Kubic in Najaf province.
"The leader of the Sadrist movement, Moqtada al-Sadr, met today, the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations Jan Kubic in the province of Najaf," the correspondent said.
The correspondent added that "the two sides will discuss the issue of demonstrations and the formation of the government."
UN special envoy Jan Kubic arrived this morning in Najaf via its international airport.

I was of the opinion that the Iraqi bad guys were throwing a monkey wrench into the gear works of the “democratic elections”. Further, the Iraqi bad guys were allowing or instigating the “protests” in an attempt to retain power or sink Iraq into a Civil War.

Seems like the election results have reached a necessary outcome with formalities to follow.

So, why wait to form the government until the demands of the protestors are met???!!! It would seem a fully formed and functional government would be the surest and quickest permanent way to meet the demands of the protestors ESPECIALLY with the encouragement of the US, UN, and other entities.

So, these Bicraqi Iraqis are, “an accomplished bunch of thieves” and it looks like they are sitting on their laurels until the US, UN, and everybody else (Kuwaiti Donors included) gives Iraq EVERYTHING they want to give up their thievery and varying degrees of the associated thieves.

I suspect Ole Donald and a few key others see through all this, are not HAPPAE’ at all, AND have some corrective action in mind.

Whether in the news or not, some “keester kickers” are likely in or about to arrive in Iraq and “encourage” the Iraqi “laurels” to perform and acceptably deliver in a timely fashion. Iran may get some “encouragements” as well to pull all the IMIS, IRGC, etc. in the mean time.

Looks like we’ll have to wait and see!!!

In The Mean Time................................

Go Moola Nova (YEAH AND YEE HAW, BABY, READY WHEN YOU ARE BROTHER (OR SISTER) - LET ‘ER BUCK!!!)!!!

getting so you can't tell the good guys from the bad. I fear it is about to be a total collapse of Iraq. They seem to have it all together and then had an election and it all went to He** overnight. This is all pure insanity. If I were a country that loaned them money, I'd be calling in my marker now!

Iraq condemns the "national law" adopted by the Israeli entity

BAGHDAD / Al-Sabah
The Iraqi Foreign Ministry on Monday condemned the so-called "national law" adopted by the Israeli entity, pointing out that the law enshrines racism and undermines the remaining hopes of the peace process and the solution of the Palestinian cause.
"This law, by turning it into building settlements and judaizing al-Quds al-Sharif to a constitutional principle, is in flagrant violation of international law and UN resolutions," ministry spokesman Ahmad Mahjoub said in a statement received by al-Sabah. "We strongly condemn the so-called national law adopted by the Israeli entity." The Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949, which prohibits the transfer and displacement of the population in the occupied territories during the wars, prohibits the occupier from changing the character of the occupied territories, and UN Resolution 2334 of 2016 adopted by the Security Council, which directly criminalizes Israeli settlement and calls for a cessation of violence against cities.
He also called on the international community to "activate its decisions and compel the Israeli entity to abandon this unjust law and stop its violations of international law and its repeated attacks on the
 Palestinian people ."
The adoption of the law angered the Palestinian people within the Green Line (48 territories) and drew criticism abroad. EU foreign policy chief Federica Mujerini expressed concern that the law "complicates the two-state solution."
