I read an article in one of these threads that discussed the House of Representatives can not write there own legislation to be voted upon, which is what they did. This makes any amendments passed ILLEGAL. Jubouri needs to be fired if he doesn't understand what is legal for him to read for voting upon. Totally corrupt.

Sadly for the most part the leadership has struggled embracing democracy with a constitution, I'm not sure since the citizens were/are so beat down they care or understand its importance.

The Constitution is important because it protects individual freedom, and its fundamental principles that govern Iraq, The Constitution places the government's power in the hands of the citizens. It limits the power of the government and establishes a system of checks and balances.

Maliki used it as a tool for corruption and dictatorship , Abadi worked hard to make change for the people all the while dealing with a country half overrun by terrorist thugs , we wait now to see what the new goi can accomplish .......

I acknowledge the existence of constitutional violations and the need to address them, especially that the parties that were the cause of part of these violations were also recognized, with the recognition that everyone is now waiting for what can be issued by the Federal Supreme Court, for fear that the country enters a constitutional vacuum.

Kanani added that "the process of counting and sorting, in which the third amendment law was passed for the election law will take time, and therefore we are facing a constitutional and political problem, as the government alone represented by the prime minister is the one who will remain alone acting in the fate of the country, unchecked and may continue. In response to a question on the absence of Prime Minister Haider Abadi, the presidential meeting, Kanani said that "positions Abadi has become largely negative from the Presidency of the Republic, although the Presidency of the Republic deal with him positively," noting that "this is not the first time to miss Abadi for important meetings of this kind attended by all the leaders of the country from the first line. "

Seems from the news (biased factions and unbiased) the elections had little to no effect in terms of overall GOI change, especially Parliament.

I for one would like to see anyone but Jubouri around. He seems pretty status quo...

The elections are being recanted, recounted, etc.

Corruption is deeply woven into Iraqi politics. Abadi and Sadr WANT to move forward, but it seems the powers that be are still holding a ton of stroke.

Interesting to see what happens next.

Always appreciate the newshounds efforts. Thanks for the continued sifting and sorting.
