I wouldn’t get too stressed out by the above comments from Massoud Haider.  He is a Kurd, who got thrown out of the Gorran, itself a minor party in the shadows of the PUK and KDP establishment.  He holds several US degrees and apparently, while here, learned a thing or two about fake news and political skullduggery.  Now with his spot in parliament days from ending he is part of the “say anything, do anything, group trying to hold onto their seats” by any means possible.  To top it off, he is cited here in Rudaw, the extremist newspaper, bible of the Kurds which has a very low rating on veracity.

The media adviser in the Prime Minister's Office, Ihsan al-Shammari, said Monday that "Abadi is now the favorite to head the next government because it has all the internal, regional and international acceptability," while a political source said that the head of the coalition, "victory" Haidar Abadi, More likely to win the post of prime minister for a second term compared to the leader of the coalition, "conquest" Hadi Amiri.

Al-Sharq al-Awsat quoted the source, who asked not to be named, as saying in a press statement today, June 25, 2018, that "the alliances that have been announced recently between some political parties, are a kind of expression of confusion in the Iraqi political scene First because of the lack of clarity of the political map, which returned to sectarian alignments again after the talk of the mass cross-sectarian and ethnic is overwhelming during the pre-election period, and secondly because of the large number of aspiring to head the next government.

The Iraqi politician added that "in addition to Abadi, whose chances appear to be more favorable than others, there is Amiri, who was officially nominated by al-Fath as a candidate. There are also candidates for settling some of them close to the leader of a coalition of state law, Or the governor of the former Basra behind Abdul Samad, in addition to the candidate of another settlement from outside this circle is Ali Abdul Amir Allawi.

He said that "there is another candidate was waving to him this time through an olive branch of Iran, Iyad Allawi, but since this position of the share of Shiites, the bloc led by Allawi is mostly Sunni bloc, which confuses the process of distribution of positions on the components," while revealing the endeavors Is now carried out by a number of Sunni blocs to form a major Sunni alliance that would lead to the withdrawal of the Sunni deputies, the majority of the (National), which will lead to the isolation of Allawi, with only two or three of the Shiite MPs will remain with him.
For his part, the head of the Center for Political Thought and close to Abadi, Ihsan al-Shammari said in a statement to Asharq Al-Awsat that "the alliance between Al-Nasr and Sawsoun is the only alliance within the national space because Al-Nasr is not a pure Shiite bloc, , As well as (Suron) is not only Shiite, but includes communists, secularists and liberals, which makes the movement of this alliance on the rest of the blocks and components within the national space much easier than any other alliance.

"This alliance will be the real nucleus of the formation of the largest bloc, as this alliance is a message of reassurance to others as a model of the national transit project, which will facilitate the polarization of others."

And on whether this alliance has bolstered the fortunes of Abadi for a second term, Al-Shammari said that "Abadi is now the most likely to head the next government because it has all the internal, regional and international acceptability," noting that "the national meeting, which called Abadi during last Ramadan and is being prepared for him By a special committee will lay down the main points of the next government program. "
The official spokesman of the alliance, "Sason" Qahtan Jubouri, noted that "the discussions that preceded the declaration of the alliance between Sadr and Abadi, stressed the basic parameters in the process of state-building, which were the points that were announced as the basis for future understandings with the parties The other wishing to join this alliance, which is approaching the formation of the largest bloc that will pave the way for the formation of the next government.

"The main objectives are to combat corruption and the adoption of competencies in the formation of the government and the maintenance of the unity and independence of Iraq and non-interference in its internal affairs."
In another context denied the MP from the Badr bloc, Siham Moussawi, health reports that the Secretary General of Badr Organization, Hadi al-Ameri, In an Arab capital that smashed US President Donald Trump, Garrid Kouchner, to arrange the order of the prime minister, and told the newspaper that "what is raised about the meeting of the gathering Amiri leader of the Fatah alliance with the Trump envoy in the Arab capital is not healthy," noting that "Amiri openly meets the US ambassador who Visited him more than once as an Iraqi leader And it does not need a mode of one in order to arrange a secret meeting with the US envoy. "

Moussawi explained that "the source of these news opponents of Amiri from some political parties to mix the papers and give the impression that Amiri began to make concessions to the United States for the post of prime minister."

It is worth mentioning that Sadr and Amiri announced after the results of the May 12 elections for an alliance between them, and then joined the coalition earlier the national wisdom stream led by Ammar al-Hakim, and later joined the coalition victory to the tripartite alliance after reaching an agreement between the leader of the Sadrist movement, And current Prime Minister Haider Abadi, which was announced during a press conference in Najaf last Friday.

The New York Times reveals five candidates for "Asrun" for the premiership of Iraq

25-06-2018 12:37 PM

The Euphrates -

The New York Times on Monday published a report on the alliance between the two groups of 'Saroon' and 'Nasser', announced by the leader of the Sadrist movement Moqtada al-Sadr, and Prime Minister Haider Abadi yesterday in the city of Najaf.

The newspaper said that 'this announcement, came as a surprise to many political observers, especially that Sadr, winner of the elections, had already announced its alliance with a Shiite leader loyal to Iran, Hadi Amiri, whose mass came in the second order according to the results of the elections.'

While he was once a wanted person for US authorities during the occupation of Iraq, Sadr remained a critic of the Americans while distancing himself from Iran at the same time, presenting himself as a non-sectarian figure. She went on to report that, despite Sadr's bitter rhetoric against the Americans in the past, he has become more lenient towards them since last month's election, and his speech in Najaf on Saturday also played down any criticism of the United States.

She added that the alliance of both Abadi and Sadr that their new alliance does not mean the end of the alliance with al-Amiri.

According to the press, US military officials, who have about 4,500 troops in Iraq and Syria, face a difficult decision on how to deal with a Sadr-dominated government and other leaders such as Amiri, who have close ties to Tehran, at a time when Trump's administration has relinquished its nuclear deal with Iran.

Sadr won a surprise victory in the May 12 parliamentary elections, which have had the lowest voter turnout since the fall of Saddam Hussein's regime in 2003. But no bloc has won enough seats to form a government unless the blocs negotiate among themselves to form multi- And limbs.

The results of the elections are also subject to many appeals alleging cases of fraud with the approval of the outgoing parliament to re-counting and manual counting of votes, a decision supported by the Federal Supreme Court.

It was also unclear whether the new coalition would bring Iraqi political parties closer to a decision that would reveal who would head the next government.

The paper noted that on the complex electoral map of Iraq does not appear any of the four largest blocs within the majority-Shiite blocs to have enough seats even if allied with other Shiite parties to be able to form a government and the selection of a new prime minister. This means that this will lead to the formation of a broader alliance of Sunni and Kurdish parties.

It is not clear whether the leaders of the political alliance, Abadi and Sadr, agreed on any candidate as an option for them to be prime minister, according to the report.

The newspaper quoted Jaafar al-Moussawi, a political spokesman for Sadr, said that the Sadr alliance now has five candidates under study for the post of prime minister.

Political analysts have said the recent alliance is a movement to bring together all the Shia parties, but it has also increased the fog of who will emerge as a new leader of the government.

Lebanese newspaper: the four-alliance between Abadi, Sadr, Hakim and Amiri waiting for Maliki to join

In the policy of  June 25, 2018 on a Lebanese newspaper: the four-alliance between Abadi, Sadr, Hakim and Amiri waiting for the accession of al-Maliki closed 20 visits

The latest visit by Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi to Najaf to meet the leader of the Sadrist movement, Moqtada al-Sadr, has strengthened the formation of the largest parliamentary bloc, noting that the possibility of joining the leader of the coalition of state law, Nuri al-Maliki, to the coalition The latter still exists .

According to a report by the Lebanese newspaper "Al-Akhbar Al-Liban", reported on Monday, June 25, 2018, the three-hour meeting in Al-Hananah between Al-Nasr (Abadi) (Sadr), the second since the announcement of the results of the legislative elections last May.

The report added that "the visit comes in the framework of seeking to form the largest parliamentary bloc (165 seats), which will be named the next prime minister, where the two sides stressed at the joint press conference, the formation of a cross-sectarian and ethnic alliance, to accelerate the formation of the next government, In order to ensure the interests of the Iraqi people, that the coalition will contribute to the formation of a strong government that serves the aspirations of our people in all fields . "

The newspaper quoted the political adviser to Sadr, Jaafar al-Moussawi, his assertion that "the largest bloc will be announced soon," noting that "the previous agreements announced are valid and window, and completed by the step of the alliance victory."

The newspaper pointed out that the alliance with "victory" will be complementary to the previous alliances with the "conquest" (Hadi al-Ameri) and "wisdom" (Ammar al-Hakim), that is, "coalition quadrature" so far has become clear, pending the resolution of the leader of the "coalition The state of law, "Nuri al-Maliki, his position to join him or form an opposition coalition includes alongside him the leader of the" National Coalition "Iyad Allawi, who is still his position on the alliance with al-Sadr foggy, where he categorically refuses to join any alliance bears the fingerprint commander of the Quds Force in the Revolutionary Guard The Iranian, Qassem Soleimani. "

"Sulaymani had a prominent role in bringing the views of the Shiite forces closer together, and he sought to revive the National Alliance in a new format. According to a vision that intersects with the vision of the fatherly government promoted by Sadr, it is not an absolute Iranian conviction, Sadr, and in order to reorganize the Shiite house, which preserves the central role of Tehran in the management of the Iraqi file, and also thwart any attempt to wrap Saudi Arabia may lead to a subsequent breach inside the house.

According to sources, "Soleimani Akan hopes of Abadi as Amiri go to Sadr and alliance with him, which happened yesterday, and came as a culmination of the contacts of delegates of both parties . "

With regard to the leader of the coalition of state law, Nuri al-Maliki, according to observers did not resolve his order to join the "four-alliance" or not, and has two options, not two: either to join the alliance of Sadr condition, or the formation of an opposition front with a number of opponents of the victory of Sadr and the results The election, highlighted by Allawi.

According to Maliki's close associates, his condition is that "the five-party alliance in the context of the national space in the capital Baghdad, not be a coalition based on appeasement of one side or the other side is the backbone while the other forces attached to it, An alliance joined by al-Maliki should be based on the basis of partnership and dialogue, not to devote alive the capital of the political decision of the country. "

"If other political forces, according to sources close to Maliki, insist on promoting appeasement, it is normal to move to peaceful political opposition and establish a national front with those who share our vision," the paper said .
As the talk of those sources shows "a great annoyance of the prevailing way in dealing with the new political reality, and the establishment of Sadr as the political ruler of the country, as one of them, which will reflect negatively, according to a number of them and in the near future, the government and the shape and performance, As well as it will weaken the ability of Iranians to manage the Iraqi file if it is devoted to the equation of the strongest man in the next stage. "

The newspaper said that according to observers, "the current prime minister remains in office until the time, for two reasons: the first not to rush Tehran (and even Washington) to resolve the naming of the next prime minister and its refusal to pressure the political forces in this framework (and therefore will remain at the head of the caretaker government ), And the second enhances the fortunes of men in a second term after his alliance with Sadr, and Iran's principled consent to extend his mandate .

It is worth mentioning that Sadr and Abadi agreed a few days ago during their meeting in Najaf on eight items, including the call for a cross-sectarian and ethnic alliance, including all Iraqi components, and continue to fight corruption, and strengthen the role of regulatory institutions, and corrupt the Iraqi judiciary, and away from official and governmental sites , As well as the formation of a government of technocrats, away from narrow quotas, and support the army and security forces, and hold arms in the hands of the state.

According to the latest information reached the coalitions are going forward and Fatah and victory, patriotism and the stream of wisdom to an agreement to form the largest parliamentary bloc, while obtaining initial approval to join the two Kurdish parties and Sunni blocs to them.
The leaders of these coalitions are consulting intensively in order to hold a meeting to bring together to resolve some technical and political problems and finalize the new coalition for the formation of the government expected, but the process of counting and manual sorting and the actions of Parliament will delay these moves.
"The alliance still exists between patriotism, wisdom, secession, conquest and victory in order to form the largest parliamentary bloc in accordance with constitutional and legal terms," said a member of the Political Bureau of the Wisdom Movement Raad al-Haidari.
A coalition of followers backed by Moqtada al-Sadr and the National Coalition headed by Iyad Allawi and the stream of wisdom led by Ammar al-Hakim, signed on June 7 on the document "Principles of the political program of the alliance of national majority patriarchal", then joined the Fatah alliance and the victory coalition also.
The official in the current wisdom of "a great convergence with the coalition of Iraqi Sunni forces and with the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan to enter the new alliance," noting that "the search is still underway with these forces to resolve some technical points and others."
The Shiite forces fought over the past few days in secret negotiations between them ended in resolving their differences, which hampered the possibility of forming the largest parliamentary bloc, and also reached an agreement that the participation of all political parties in the next government.
These dialogues succeeded in declaring the "nucleus" of the alliance between the two sides and the Fatah, which agreed to form joint committees to set certain criteria for the selection of the next prime minister.
The (range) has revealed on the thirteenth of this month that the commander of the Iranian Quds Force Qassem Soleimani supervised the Shiite movement and persuaded everyone to enter into a unified alliance.
"There is an arrangement for a meeting of the leaders of the new alliance to finalize the announcement of the largest bloc number," he said, adding that "the process of manual counting and sorting will affect the announcement of this new alliance."
The judges decided on Sunday to re-process the process of counting and sorting manually in the centers received complaints on the basis of what was stated in the decision of the Federal Supreme Court, which supported the procedures for the amendment of the parliamentary electoral law.
Muqtada al-Sadr's political spokesman, Jafar al-Moussawi, has revealed that the largest bloc now has five candidates under study for the post of prime minister.
But a member of the Political Bureau of the current wisdom said that "the blocs that have recently coalesced not discussed the candidate of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers so far," adding that "the choice of prime minister represents the biggest node between these blocks and components." But we will set certain criteria for choosing the right person.
For his part, confirms the leadership of the National Coalition Adnan Aldenbos that "the alliance still exists between patriotism and others and wisdom in order to accelerate the process of forming the government," asserting that "mobility between the political forces is still continuing and did not reach final understandings to announce the largest bloc number."
Aldenbos adds in a statement to (the extent) that "
According to the decision of the Federal Court in 2010, the bloc that is mandated to form the government is the largest bloc formed in parliament, not the winning bloc in the largest number of seats in the parliament.
"The National Coalition is not conservative on any component or bloc to join the alliance of the largest bloc number."

Iraq’s Prime Minister and Leader of Al-Nasser Coalition (Victory Alliance), Haider Al-Abadi, has been trying to avoid making a coalition with his predecessor, Nouri Al-Maliki, Al-Araby Al-Jadeedreported on Monday. Working with the Sa’eroon Coalition leader Muqtada Al-Sadr, Al-Abadi has been exerting efforts to avoid such a deal. Al-Nasser and Sa’eroon are the largest coalitions in the new Iraqi parliament.

Meanwhile, another Coalition, Al-Fateh, formed mainly by Al-Hashd Al-Shaabi (the Popular Mobilisation Forces), has been trying to bring Al-Maliki closer to the largest groups. “Al-Fateh Coalition, headed by Hadi Al-Ameri, is trying to bring the ex-Prime Minister closer to the coalition of Sa’eroon, Al-Nasser and Al-Fateh,” explained one Sa’eroon official. He noted that such an effort “will bring the Shia home together again.”

The official, who refused to give his name, said that all three groups have the same stance towards Al-Maliki, but they have set conditions for him to join the coalition. One of these, he explained, is that he will not be given any of the sovereign ministries to run. This and other conditions are expected to be unacceptable to him.

Al-Abadi and Al-Sadr announced a non-sectarian coalition on Saturday that includes their own groups in order to guarantee the largest parliamentary bloc. They insisted that they are open to anyone.

Meanwhile, Al-Maliki is working to announce a new political initiative with a meeting of all Shia political blocs. The intention is for those attending to agree on the allocation of the sovereign ministries and the government’s programme.

Al-Maliki was the Iraqi Prime Minister between 2006 and 2014. Many rights violations and the detention of thousands of innocent people on political and sectarian grounds occurred during his time in office. Allegations of vast sums of state money being wasted have also been made.

More than five million people were displaced on his watch after their homes were occupied by Daesh. The Iraqi people blamed him, as the then Commander of the armed forces, for the massacre of 1,700 army cadets by Daesh inside the “Spiker” military college in 2014.
