“The resulting from this coalition government will be realized to the will of the Iraqi people, who resisted the occupation and was sent off and defeated Daesh government will berepresentative of the parliament's decisions."

When we left Iraq last time ISIS hit Iraq so hard it left their heads rolling and spinning, literally.... and if they were truly so concerned about the will of the people... Maliki’s head would have been one of those loose heads rolling down the street singing “I Ain’t Got No Body”!

Sadr obviously talks out of both sides of his mouth. Typical politician to do and say what ever the crowds want to hear to secure their position... so I am not believing anything he says these days, full of BS like Maliki.....😡

I wouldn't give up yet. Sanctions are going to hit Iran hot and heavy. I think the Iraqis will figure this out shortly or be told in no uncertain terms. I don't think Iraq will benefit having a lame partner like Iran in an international setting where Iraq really needs non Iranian partners to get going on their reconstruction, construction, economic development, and foreign investment (non Iranian). This may all be a ploy to get as much wiggle room for whatever. With North Korea, I suspect the lay out is demonstrated so likely Iran will be a relic. Sectarian Violence and Civil War are nipping at the Iraqis now and is more fueled by Iran. Do the typical Iraqis want this? I think not. There are significant UN levers, too. I don't think the Iraqis in play here in their GOI are ignorant to all this and are just playing the field to make sure there is no other options. The options are likely being eliminated for them - including time. July 1 is fast approaching for the current GOI and I suspect those external to Iraq are holding them to it. Speculation on my part so we'll see.

Well, OK, we can't really DO anything about is anyway so might as well watch it all play out!!!

Just my speculation, thoughts, opinion, and :twocents: for whatever THAT is worth!!! :o

In The Mean Time....................................

Go Moola Nova (YEAH AND YEE HAW, BABY, READY WHEN YOU ARE BROTHER - LET 'ER BUCK!!!)!!!

Iraq's former PM Nouri Al Maliki "not welcome" in new government

Nationalist cleric Moqtada Al Sadr and Iran-backed militia leader Hadi Al Amiri have found common ground in excluding the former leader

There is no place for former Prime Minister Nouri Al Maliki in the coalition to form Iraq’s next government, a spokesman for the recent election’s largest political bloc has said.

“Nouri Al Maliki is not welcome to join the coalition,” Dhiaa Al Assadi, a close aide to Shiite Cleric Moqtada Al Sadr, told The National.

Last month’s parliamentary elections saw electoral lists led by nationalist Mr Al Sadr and Iranian-backed militia chief Hadi Al Amiri win the largest number of seats. The two leaders announced their intention to form an alliance of their political blocs on Wednesday.

They called on other political groups to join them in a coalition. Notably absent from that invitation was Mr Al Maliki.

It appears a decisive set back for Mr Al Maliki, who in the past managed to cling to power despite rising unpopularity.

Mr Al Maliki took power in 2006 with the blessing of both the United States and Iran. But he rapidly alienated the country’s Sunni and Kurdish minorities by shutting them out of key security positions and undermining power-sharing agreements.

During the 2010 elections, a secular bloc headed by vice president Ayad Allawi won the most seats in parliament. But Tehran backed Mr Al Maliki to remain in power, who was able to form a “national unity” government with the help of Mr Al Sadr.

Mr Al Maliki was finally forced to step down in 2014 following the collapse of a third of Iraq’s military and police units in the face of an ISIS offensive which overran a third of the country. He immediately assumed the largely ceremonial role for vice president. He was replaced as premier by fellow Dawa Party member Haider Al Abadi.

As general secretary of the Dawa party, Mr Maliki has retained political influence, though his State of Law coalition performed bellow expectations in the recent elections, winning just 26 seats.

The blocs controlled by Mr Al Sadr and Mr Amiri control 101 seats, short of the 165 required to form a majority.

Mr Al Sadr’s Sairoun alliance, which also includes the Communist Party and secular candidates, won 54 seats, while Mr Amiri’s Fatah coalition of Shiite paramilitaries won 47 seats.

Incumbent Prime Minister Abadi’s Victory alliance took 42 seats.

“His Eminence [Mr Al Sadr] has always welcomed Dr Al Abadi to join his coalition,” Mr Al Assadi said.

The Shiite cleric has previously vowed that he would not allow Mr Maliki another term as prime minister.

Even his former backers in Tehran may have given up on him. “Nouri Al Maliki was Iran’s best person but they accept that he’s not part of the next government because of the instability caused” during his time in power, Renad Mansour, senior research fellow at London’s Chatham House, told The National.

“Al Sadr’s stance has been to side-line Nouri Al Maliki,” he added.

Mr Al Sadr’s strong election performance marked the culmination of years of speaking out against corruption and government mismanagement.

He first built his name outside of mainstream politics, as the head of the Mehdi Army militia which fought against the US occupation using sophisticated bombs likely supplied by the Iranians. But he has remained a staunch nationalist, critical of Iranian interference in Iraq.

For his proposed coalition to succeed, Mr Al Sadr will need to overcome grievances from members of his own bloc who insist Tehran should not be permitted to interfere in Iraq’s affairs.

Iran backs Mr Al Amiri, a militia leader who spent two decades fighting former dictator Saddam Hussein from Iran. He is also close to General Qassem Soleimani, commander of foreign operations for Iran’s Revolutionary Guards who has great influence in Iraq.

Dawa Party and National Union announce support for Ebadi and Maliki initiative

Dawa Party and National Union announce support for Ebadi and Maliki initiative

 Twilight News

"The Islamic Party" and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan on Friday expressed their support for the initiative of the Prime Minister of the coalition of "victory" Haidar Abadi to hold a meeting between all parties and political forces in the country to form a new Iraqi government.

"We confirm our support for the national dialogue project of the political blocs that Abadi called for in order to unite positions and visions on a practical and effective government platform and platform that achieves national and political consensus," the party's political bureau said in a statement.

The head of the coalition of state law, the Secretary-General of the Dawa Party, Nuri al-Maliki, in response to questions to reporters on the initiative of Abadi, that "with any serious step produces a solution to a serious crisis facing Iraq, and that the response to this call or other is conditional on the mechanisms and themes to be discussed during The meeting, as well as the treatments that will come out of the meeting, "saying that" any invitation or meeting lacks solutions to the crisis facing the political process is nothing more than a propaganda declaration for a political festival or festival. "

He expressed his hope that the invitation will be attended by all the forces and that everyone will commit themselves to work hard in order to reach serious solutions to the country on more than one level.

For his part, the Central Council of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan announced today that it welcomes Abadi's initiative to hold a high-level meeting in order to protect the gains and run the country.

Abadi had called on Thursday the leaders of the political blocs to hold a meeting "high level" after the holiday of Eid al-Fitr.

"We are facing the challenge of preserving the country, but we are confident of passing through this difficult phase," Abadi said in a televised address.

"Despite the election violations, the legal and constitutional methods are the only way to solve the problems and move towards the formation of a new parliament and a government that will emerge from it," he said.

Abadi stressed that "not to allow manipulation of citizens' voices and acceptance of fraud."

He called on Abadi to hold "responsible meetings to agree on the next program of the state departments in all its institutions, according to the law, and that the program is intended to meet the aspirations of citizens and fight corruption and eliminate it and get rid of quotas."

Abadi called for "political blocs to hold a high-level meeting after the Eid holiday, to protect the homeland and ensure the safety of the political process."

The alliance of the leader of the Sadrist movement Moqtada al-Sadr, along with the leader of Badr Hadi Amiri, raised several questions about the position of the Sunni and national forces of the coalition, especially that "Sowron and Fatah" form their alliance on a sectarian basis, according to the recipe of politicians.

What further complicated the situation was that the most prominent Shiite party opposed to Iran allied itself with the figure closest to Tehran, after earlier describing Amiri's alliance with Abadi before the election - which was quickly dismissed - as "abhorrent and sectarian strife."

The leader of the Sadrist movement, Moqtada al-Sadr, announced Tuesday, the alliance between my list "Ssron" supported by the "conquest" led by Hadi Amiri, backed by Iran to form the largest bloc in the Iraqi parliament.

BAGHDAD (

Reuters) - The party is in a deep crisis and a period of schisms has turned it into three wings, a source familiar with the Islamic Dawa party said Wednesday.

The source told Al-Ghad Press that "three wings within the party are fighting for his presidency (the General Secretariat of the Islamic Dawa Party), including the wing of Secretary-General Nuri al-Maliki (supported by the party's historian and the preacher Hassan Shubar), Prime Minister Haider Abadi's wing, Led by Ali al-Adeeb, "revealing that" the reason for postponement of the General Conference of the party is the existence of differences and not to choose an alternative character of the owners. "

The source explained that "there are movements within the party to (replace) the Secretary General of the party Haidar Abadi, prompted Maliki to move to (the restoration) of the party from the inside and restructuring and prestige," noting that "Haider Abadi, Sheikh Abdul Halim Zuhairi, and Sadiq Rikabi, They are also moving to dominate the party. "

The Islamic Dawa Party held its last annual conference on March 20, 2013, at which time it renewed the election of Nuri al-Maliki as secretary-general of the party.

Since the establishment of the Dawa Party since the beginning of the sixties, the Dawa Party has witnessed a series of splits that have led to different political trends, including the organization of Iraq, the organization of the outside, cadres, reform and others.

Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi welcomed the initiative of Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi to hold a meeting after the Eid holiday to study the formation of the government, while a race began between the main powers to include small lists before the start of formal talks.

Baghdad and other Iraqi cities witnessed calm on the first day of Eid al-Fitr, amid tight measures imposed by the security forces on the places of population gathering, according to plans announced that they will continue until after the Eid holiday.

Announced the stream of wisdom and the two Kurdish parties the two presidents officially welcome the invitation of the Prime Minister to hold a meeting between the leaders of the blocs for the file of forming a government. Sources said that Abbadi received assurances from most of the other forces in the presence of the meeting, which required forces such as «conquest» and «Suron» to specialize in the examination of the file of the government program, while the block «the rule of law» need to address the issue of electoral fraud.

At the same time, the "Fateh" list (47 seats) announced yesterday that Irada (3 seats) and "competencies for change" (two seats) have joined it. According to Iraqi political sources, the three main forces that lead the election results, namely «Surun», «Fatah» and «victory» will announce in the coming days to join a number of small lists, before heading to the negotiating table, in order to improve its negotiating position.

But the list of "victory" headed by Abadi depends mainly on the manual recount of votes and the cancellation of elections abroad, which can be given according to the calculations of members of the list at least 5 additional seats. The dispute over the election results and the frauds that have plagued it seems to be the most sensitive factor in the upcoming negotiations.

The sources confirm that the initial coalition announced two days ago between the list of «Suron» and «conquest» was caused by the first to block the possibility of a coup on the election results, including the increasing calls for the re-election.

According to the data, Abadi had announced his rejection of the re-election, and in addition to the leader of the «state law» Nuri al-Maliki, the most enthusiastic to proceed with the procedures to scrutinize the results, as Maliki announced recently that he will not engage in negotiations to form a government before the completion of procedures to verify accusations of falsifying the results of the ballot.

The position of the Federal Supreme Court on the amendment by the Iraqi Parliament to the electoral law, including the cancellation of the elections abroad, conditional voting, the imposition of manual counting and counting, and the appointment of a judicial committee to supervise the count, remains unclear.

The Court of Cassation, which is charged with considering hundreds of appeals in the voting process, has not issued a different list, which led some observers to expect the court to link its rulings to the federal court's response to the appeals filed in the last parliament's law. Absence of the need for the issuance of appeals by the Court of Cassation until the completion of the manual counting and sorting process.

Erbil (Iraq) - The head of the Kurdistan region of Najirvan Barzani Friday to support the call of Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Abadi to hold an expanded meeting of political blocs after the Eid holiday to agree on how to move forward towards forming a government and alliances within parliament.

Abadi's call came after the sudden announcement of an alliance between Sadr's leader Moqtada al-Sadr and the head of the pro-Iranian Fatah coalition Hadi al-Amiri.

Barzani stressed support for any step and initiative seeking to get out of the crisis and save the political process in the country.

The issue of forming the government is still pending clarification of the image of alliances between the political blocs winning in the recent legislative elections, despite the alliance between Sadr and Amiri.

Barzani said, "If the initiative of Abadi flows in this course and lead to serious talks to establish a broad coalition and the launch of an effective government, can solve many of the internal problems and external Iraq, it is welcome."

"We look forward after the Eid holiday to intensive and responsible talks in Baghdad and with all concerned parties for the desired purpose," he said, adding that "we support any step and initiative seeking to get out of the crisis in Iraq in general."

He also welcomed the coalition of Iraqi forces initiative Abbadi, considering it a step in the right direction towards the launch of the national project inclusive.

"It is urgent to frame a government program that will produce a strong Iraqi government capable of economic construction and openness to the world," the alliance said in a statement published on Thursday.

The Iraqi Front for National Dialogue confirmed that it supports the initiative of Abadi, saying it will cut the way to "sectarian confinement."

Abadi has called for an expanded meeting after Eid al-Fitr to the political blocs to "ensure the integrity of the political process and democratic gains and agree on specific mechanisms to accelerate the formation of constitutional institutions as best as possible and relying on our national decision and the interests of our country and our people."

Parliamentary elections in May saw a drop in voter turnout and accusations of fraud, blocking talks on forming a new government. Parliament allowed a recount of votes across the country, while some politicians called for a re-election.

"Despite the irregularities and irregularities of the elections, the adoption of legal methods and the adoption of the law and the constitution is the only way to resolve these problems and move towards the formation of a new parliament and the government that emanates from it," Abbadi said in a recorded speech on Thursday.

Abadi, who is opposed to the re-election, said he was confident that "this crisis will continue ... Our Iraq and our people will emerge strong, united, stable and victorious again with the help of Allah."

Since the announcement of the coalition, "Asron" led by Muqtada al-Sadr results of the legislative elections maneuvering Iran to influence the scene by sending the commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Qasim Soleimani, who initially tried to form an alliance exclude the Shiite leader, but soon announced in Najaf an alliance Between Sadr and al-Amiri, where experts see it as a result of Iran's desire to assemble the Shiite forces to preserve their interests.

A spokesman for the alliance "Al-Fath" Ahmed al-Asadi said the sudden alliance, which announced the formation of the Amir and Sadr in Najaf, "is only a step towards a broader alliance."

He added in previous statements that he had been invited "all the lists elected to participate in the formulation of the government program," explaining "We will not exclude anyone" in a hint to the victory coalition led by Haider Abadi and the coalition of the rule of law led by al-Maliki, in addition to the two Kurdish parties.

Less than a week ago, al-Sadr signed an agreement with the National Wisdom Movement led by Ammar al-Hakim, and with the nationalist coalition led by Iyad Allawi, a secularist movement whose list includes Sunni figures.

However, the view seemed different for the Communists who entered Sadr's list in the "Sorrow" list. "We are seeking to form an alliance with a common plan to advance reforms and we have many commonalities with the Fatah alliance," said Raed Fahmi, leader of the Iraqi Communist Party.

But he stressed that "this is not the case with all components of the coalition, and we do not seek to enter a Shiite alliance."

"We want to judge with those who share our ideas and we do not agree with the alliance with Nuri al-Maliki and others after we campaign against corruption and to renew the political class."

They're a strange lot . . . agree to disagree and they certainly have the capacity to disagree that they should agree . . . on anything.  It's like NASCAR with NO Finish Line. Round & Round we go . . . will they ever stop, no one seems to know.

I’m basing that statement on a report I read on housing and how the Millennials are starting to get hooked up and are having kids of their own. In the report it stated that they are finally getting jobs ( really in their 30’s) and buying small homes.  I had zero problems with my Millennials.  I made them get a job in High School and I made them work in college.  When they graduated from college I gave them 6 months to get a job and move out of my house. I told them I loved them, now go conquer the world.  My kids are 35, 37, and 39.  They are executives and business owners.  Some said I was too tough on my kids but I don’t have lazy entitled grown kids living in my home.  Life is good!!

Al-Sommeria News / Baghdad The
deputy of the coalition of Iraqi forces, Mohamed Nuri al- Abed Rabbo, on Sunday, the call of Prime Minister Haider Abadi political blocs to hold a meeting after the Eid al-Fitr as a "response" to a coalition coalition and the conquest and the rest, unlikely to discuss the meeting fraud operations during the elections.

Al-Abed Rabbo said in an interview for Alsumaria News that "the political blocs before the elections put political programs for them, including what was adopted by the political majority or national or other names adopt exit from the sectarian ditching of national space," noting that "after the announcement of the results of electronic counting and sorting, Alliance of the masses of Fatah and others, this alliance has created a reaction to other political parties. "

He added that "some political parties found that the alliance of parties possessing military wings on the ground in Iraq is a matter of fear, in addition to the form of this alliance will bring us to the name of the National Alliance and the former and built on the trenching sectarian of one component," wondering, "Everyone speaks today about National space, how can we find alliances that adopt sectarian space. He added that "the call of the Prime Minister to hold a meeting after the holiday holiday came in response to the alliance and the conquest of the rest of the call for the rest of the political blocs to focus on two options, participation in the government will be everyone in it and this will restore us to the same mistakes or the formation of another bloc parallel to the coalition formed from Al-Fath and Salloon ", ruling out that" the meeting will be to discuss the fraud or the charges that will be focused mainly on the formation of alliances and a parliamentary bloc only. "

It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Haider Abadi called on Thursday (June 14, 2018), the political blocs to hold a high-level meeting immediately after the holiday.
