Muqtada al-Sadr is a delegation to start negotiations with all parties to form a "patriarchal government"

Follow-up of Mawazine News

Al-Hananah, the headquarters of the leader of the Sadrist movement Muqtada al-Sadr in Najaf, is no longer a place for all partners, factions and adversaries to weave alliances that ultimately lead to the formation of the largest bloc capable of forming the next Iraqi government.

And two days after the meeting, which gathered the first days of Ramadan with the leader of the National Wisdom Movement Ammar al-Hakim, which did not result in the announcement of the "alliance of Ramadan," according to some media and social networking night and after the obstacles of protocol prevented the meeting with the Prime Minister and leader of the coalition, "victory" Haider Abadi , Put down the chest in Baghdad. From his new headquarters, large visitors began to flock to Sadr, headed by Abbadi and Hadi al-Amiri, the leader of the Fatah alliance, which came second in the recent elections, and others.

For his part, Sadr formed a negotiating delegation led by the leading figure in the political body of the Sadrist movement and former Labor Minister Nassar al-Rubaie to begin negotiations with all parties in order to form the largest bloc, which ultimately lead to the formation of what he calls Sadr during his meetings with the parties " But with no clear explanation of the concept of patriarchal government except the inclusion of all without exception, which is contrary to what was presented by Sadr during the uprising of reform in 2015 and 2016, which is known as "swallowing," he found himself forced part of the axis must be close to a regional camp - International and away from another camp.

The struggle of the axes and the camps is the one that dominates the current political movement at a time when the concepts that prevailed prior to the announcement of the results of the elections began to begin, with programs, projects, not personalities or names.

The axis that is moving now to reach the largest bloc is barely out of the weight of the five Shiite blocs "walking" under the leadership of Sadr (54 seats) and "conquest" led by Amiri (47 seats) and "victory" led by Abadi (42 seats) (25 seats) and "wisdom" led by al-Hakim (22 seats). Although the number of seats in the five Shiite blocs in the Iraqi parliament alone qualify to be the largest bloc that needs 165 seats, but the inclusion of what has become called "the national space ", Meaning the Sunni Arabs and the Kurds, is the problem that has dominated the political process since 2003 and has continued to clash between election eligibility According to the population and the concept of citizenship, which began to decline in favor of sectarian and ethnic quotas.

In the context of the conflict axes, the closest to the alliance between the Shiite blocs are "Surun" and "victory" and if joined by the block "wisdom" the new bloc will need two parties Arab Sunni and Kurd is still their status is not settled but the closest to the alliance "decision" led by Osama Najafi In the Sunni center and the Kurdistan Democratic Party led by Massoud Barzani in the Kurdish center.

In contrast to this bloc there is a bloc of "conquest" and "state law," which seeks to include "wisdom" as the egg Alkban. Although al-Sadr met al-Amiri in Baghdad last night in an attempt to reach the participants between the parties, but even in the search for participants within the Shiite axis, they collide with the conflict camps.

If Abadi is the most likely candidate for the presidency of the government and supported by Sadr and acceptable to the American and uncharacterized Iranian, Amiri, the candidate of the "conquest" to head the government, although supported by Iran is still rejected by the United States, making the process of meeting in the middle of the road is very difficult. In this context, independent politician Izzat Shabandar believes that "the political majority is still the best option compared to previous experiences, which were based on quotas and consensual rule over the past sessions, which were not far from the American-Iranian satisfaction, but proved to fail."

Despite the lack of clarity of the term of the patriarchal government that Sadr is promoting, Shabandar believes that "the national views of Sadr, which abhor sectarianism as it always expresses, necessarily coincide with the project of the political majority as a national project, as this project will be the first building block in the development of Iraq politically Economically ".

With all the current and potential meetings between the different political parties, the political Nadim Jabri believes that "it is difficult to talk about a major change in the political situation after the elections because today's discussions are governed by the same paths that governed the political process from the beginning, including Re-produce the same concepts and terminology, "noting that" talk about participation in the next government is hardly out of the fact that everyone must participate according to size and according to the number of seats obtained by each party regardless of the names and terminology. "

Al-Jabri said that the conflict between the "blocs, especially the large Shiite ones," clashes with the conflict of the camps, especially the American-Iranian camps, as "the regional and international influence can complicate this scene, especially on the level of candidate for prime minister, which may force All agree to accept a compromise candidate, "the same idea that Shabandar believes but is different from Jabri's view that" the candidate is not a compromise candidate as much as a prime minister with certain specifications and may be outside of the circulation of names, including not to give the Dawa Party a new mandate " In reference to the lack of opportunities Abadi Paul Yeh again, knowing that he has the support of Sadr's compared to others in the Shiite center although Sadr put before the candidate of his movement, Ali Douai, governor of Maysan province, "29 .anthy / h

"There is a great rapprochement with the victory alliance headed by Haider al-Abadi and the stream of wisdom headed by Ammar al-Hakim," he said, noting that "there are no red lines for everyone to join this alliance."

And on the possibility of joining a coalition of law led by Nuri al-Maliki, Sadr's opponent of the largest bloc, Hamid said, "The alliance of others seek to form a government of national unity tarnishes sectarianism and quotas and there are no red lines on the blocks of specific, we reject corrupt and involved in shedding the blood of the Iraqi people only and so on Tell him (welcome) ".

Movement does not resolve alliances: Sadr is waiting Allawi and Abadi

Follow-up of Mawazine News

Condolences meetings between the leaders of the winning blocs in the parliamentary elections on the road to form a "big bloc" Despite the blurry in the scene, but the Gulf parties seem urgent to resolve the prime minister for their own interests, while Tehran waits to express any position of the current movement, stressing that Friendly relations with all parties, including Moqtada al-Sadr.

The political scene in Mesopotamia remains foggy. Results of the Legislative Elections Despite its announcement, the map of the new parliament was not resolved in the context of the consultations between the winning lists (headed by others backed by the leader of the Sadrist movement Moqtada al-Sadr) in order to form the largest bloc, which will be named the next prime minister.

The most harmonious parties among them so far are "ascetic" and wisdom (supported by the leader of the wisdom movement Ammar al-Hakim). After his meeting with al-Hakim in Hananah, al-Sadr, a guest of al-Hakim, arrived at his office in Baghdad, completing his bilateral consultations on political alliances, forming the government and the largest bloc. Al-Hakim commented on the meeting, saying: (We) discussed the political alliances, and the need to have a service government programs and time bounds clear, adding that the parties stressed the importance of the Iraqi decision in accordance with the Iraqi interest, and the need to continue and intensify meetings between the various leaders and political forces, Formation of the national majority.

Harmony has not risen to the level of a clear road map to form the desired mass, but it is the participants can be established in the coming days of an alliance that is intended to evade outside the influence of the region, according to observers. But it is clear that Sadr and Hakim still need other partners to reach what they call a cross-sectarian alliance. In this context, moves continue on the Sadr line - the victory coalition led by Prime Minister Haider Abadi. The spokesman for the victory, Hussein al-Adli, yesterday, a great understanding between Abadi and Sadr, pointing out that his coalition is open to all blocs regardless of their names in order to form the next government. However, this understanding has not yet been announced, according to al-Adli, since a bloc of this kind is still in need of additional parties, hence the talk of convergence between Sadr and Hakim on the one hand, and the leader of the National List Iyad Allawi, on the other.

In the event that the expectations of an alliance between Sadr and Hakim and Abadi (116 deputies), if ruled out debate about the disintegration of victory (which is likely due to the hybrid composition of some of the winning components), this coalition will have to attract Allawi to become a total of 137 deputies, and then search for partners Kurds, and others in the year, with the aim of reaching 165 deputies, which gives him the ability to name the next prime minister. In this context, and with a view to overcoming the obstacles to Allawi's joining the desired coalition, al-Hakim stressed during his meeting yesterday, the need to continue a joint dialogue with the forces that believe in our program before Allawi is a guest of Sadr, where they discussed the importance of working on the principle of true patriotism, All types of alignments and trenches, according to a statement issued by Sadr.

The statement pointed out that "Sadr assured Allawi that his priority is to fight sectarianism and corruption, and establish the foundations of social justice, and enjoy the wealth and resources of the country."

In the event that Al-Sadr included Allawi's accession to him, the next goal will be to create a Kurdish component, and thus promote a possible meeting between the leader of the Sadrist movement and the leader of the movement of the new generation Shahwar Abdul Wahid (4 seats), and the possibility of alliance with others. As for Arbil, calculated on Albarzani, has not been resolved yet, but is expected to go today a delegation from the Democratic Party of Kurdistan (25 seats) to Baghdad, to meet with Iraqi leaders (and the victory and the alliance to discuss the formation of the government and the formation of alliances.

The head of his office, Hisham al-Rikabi, spoke about the arrival of Kurdish delegations to Baghdad, in order to join the coalition of the political majority, stressing the continuation of dialogues of the coalition of state law with all blocks .

He attributed the reasons behind the delay of the announcement of the Alliance to the desire of the blocks to conduct more dialogues, pointing out that all meetings that are currently underway do not rise to agreements.

The State of Law coalition won 26 of the 320 seats contested in the parliamentary elections held on the 12th of this month.

He pointed out that 'is scheduled for the next two days to announce the results of these dialogues and understandings'.

The delegation is headed by Fadhil Mirrani, secretary of the party's political bureau, where he will hold talks with the lists and blocs leading up to the recent elections on the formation of the new government, including members of the Democratic Party's leadership, Khosro Kuran and the party's fifth party official in Baghdad, Shuan Mohammad Taha.

"The delegation will hold talks with all political parties on the formation of the next government," head of delegation Fadhil Mirani said. "The Kurds have an important position in Iraq, regardless of the number of seats in parliament, they are partners outside the quotas."

Kurds were keen to be Iraq's symbol of them

On the information about the exchange of Kurds and Sunnis to the positions of the President of the Republic and Parliament, he said, "The position of the President of the Republic should be for the Kurds, although the post is ceremonial but symbolic and it is important for us to be the symbol of Iraq Kurdish, the position of Speaker of Parliament, the Speaker of the House of Representatives will not have any powers without a strong mass support him, which means the transformation to a symbolic position also like the presidency completely. "

"We will hold flexible talks with all the winning and non-winning parties to present our goals, which are the demands of the people of Kurdistan and achieve balance and the application of Article 140 of the Constitution in order to request positions."

"We support those who accept our demands and put in place mechanisms to ensure their implementation. We have already agreed with former Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, but we have not seen any implementation, so we stress that a federal council should be formed," he said in a statement. "It is not in the interest of Iraq to delay the formation of the government, but the intensity of competition on positions will lead to the delay in reaching an agreement in this regard."

On the possibility of some Kurdish parties boycotting the political process in Iraq, he said: "I do not recommend boycotting the Sunnis, and we see the Sunni boycott of the operation as an example. They have not gained anything from this decision and boycotted Kurdish parties means losing seats in the Iraqi parliament. Kurdistan, in the political process, but this is not true because we seek to lay the ranks of our people, and we confirm that each Kurdish party is the support of the other and that the boycott will lead to collective damage to the people of Kurdistan and individual to each party separately.

"We have demanded in the past that the Kurdish parties enter the elections with one list, but that did not happen. Today, we will send a joint delegation from all the Kurdish parties to Baghdad, but we have not received any response.

It is noteworthy that the Kurdistan Democratic Party has been the fifth in the sequence of alliances winning in the recent legislative elections in Iraq.

Excuse my ignorance, is he a good choice for Iraq?

My gut feeling is that he is trying to do the right thing. Not to side track your question - Yes. He can not hold the office but he is really trying to get things moving in the right direction. He has no love for Maliki so that is a plus in my book.
