thanks for the news.

if mr. haider abadi do what he suppose to do, he will win a land slide winning.

now, they have to recount back the ballots.....wasting iraqi time to move on...

he cannot blame anyone but himself with this result. if al sard win, its hard to see any progress in iqd. i'm not said that he is not capable but can he not make same mistakes like abadi n maliki? time will tell.

Well folks, at least they got one decision out of the way. And we know that when the manual recount is done (because THAT is so much better than the millions they spent on electronic voting machines) then we can fire up the snails and full speed ahead....kinda. And with any luck, this will take until July 1st, and all those GOI losers will STILL be outta jobs and in the 'gallows' line. Could there be a more 'F'D UP' country than Iraq???

Hypothetically asking, of course. We all know the answer to that. Now 40 days after the election, let the recount begin. Idiots. ;)

Okay, so, 10,000 people counting 10,000,000 ballots lest see 10,000,000 % 10,000, carry the one... that's four to five months in sandy math, if they don't lose count and have to start over. That doesn't count teaching those 10,000 people how to count. The other thing is, who's counting the counters and how many votes they have counted? I hope y'all got a lot of life left in this you cause this may take a while.

about the only thing you can count on over there is the lack of accountability

The Iraqi judiciary recognizes the constitutionality of the parliament's law on counting and counting the results of the elections

Reject the cancellation of the vote of the outside and the displaced and the Peshmerga ... Sadr calls for «restraint»

21qpt967.jpg

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The Iraqi Federal Court ruled on Thursday that all amendments to the parliamentary elections law approved by the parliament on June 6, with the exception of one paragraph, were to cancel the results of elections for the displaced, the displaced and the Peshmerga.
The court held its session, chaired by its President, Judge Medhat al-Mahmoud, and all its members, to decide on the appeals made on the third amendment to the law of legislative elections.
And approved, constitutionally all the paragraphs contained in the law of the House of Representatives, including the process of counting and counting, and the freezing of the work of the Electoral Commission until the end of the process of investigating the "violations" experienced by the electoral process, which took place on 12 May last, as well as the «constitutionality» mandate Judges to conduct manual counting and counting.
He said Mahmoud in a press conference: «The Court finds that the House of Representatives to return the counting and sorting, an organizational procedure and not in violation of the provisions of the Constitution».
But at the same time, the court admitted unconstitutionality of Article (3) in the amendment of the election law, which stipulates "the cancellation of the results of the elections abroad for all governorates and the elections of the population movement of the provinces of Anbar, Salahuddin, Nineveh and Diyala. Iraq".
And considered that the paragraph «unconstitutional», and therefore the results of the elections mentioned, «will also be subject to the procedures of sorting and counting manual».
The Iraqi judiciary also responded to the appeal submitted by the Board of Commissioners, which concerns the objection to the Parliament's decision to perform a manual counting and counting, noting that the federal government is supposed to submit this appeal, not the Commission. Which refers to the «support» the government of the actions of Parliament.
Immediately after the court session, the Speaker of the House of Representatives Salim al-Jubouri issued a statement announcing the respect of the Iraqi Council of Representatives for all decisions of the Iraqi judiciary.
According to the statement, the parliament "succeeded in consolidating the pillars of democracy in the country by correcting the results of the elections according to legal and constitutional mechanisms." He added that "once again the Iraqi judiciary proved its impartiality and neutrality, whether by responding to appeals submitted to it or other files affecting security and sovereignty. The country ».
As a result, Al Quds Al Arabi learned from sources in the Information Department of the House of Representatives that the Presidency of Parliament called on the members of the Council to hold an extraordinary session at 4 (local time) on Friday afternoon.
According to the sources, the session, will be devoted to discuss the decisions of the Federal Court on the third amendment to the law of elections of the Iraqi Council of Representatives.
Also, the coalition «victory» led by Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Abadi, to declare its commitment to the decision of the Federal Court, and called on everyone to «comply» him.
Coalition spokesman Hussein al-Adli said in a statement: "The victory coalition confirms its full commitment to the decision of the Federal Court on the third amendment to the electoral law."
He called on everyone to "comply with the resolution to safeguard the political process and the rule of law, to preserve voters' voices and to ensure the integrity of the procedures related to the legitimacy of the electoral process and its powers and institutions."

«Subjugation to law»

The leader of the Sadrist movement Moqtada al-Sadr, called on everyone, after the decision of the Court, to «restraint and subject to the law on the issue of re-counting and manual counting of the results of the elections, and recommended the judiciary« impartiality in this regard », stressing the need to set a time period for re-counting and sorting.
He said in a statement «I put in your hands some tips regarding the re-counting and sorting by hand, everyone should exercise restraint and comply with the law, although it is unconvincing».
He added, «We recommend the Iraqi judiciary to abide by neutrality in the issue of counting and sorting, which must be determined for a period of time is not long», pointing out that «in case of delay in counting and sorting until the first of the seventh month of the current year, the government to abide by the law and does not expand its powers and not Taking advantage of the constitutional vacuum, which is a danger leads to what is not praised the consequences ».
He added, «We recommend the political blocs to move forward towards the realization of serious dialogues in order to achieve the appropriate alliances that take into account the real reform, and we recommend the security forces not to be adversely affected by such decisions and remain vigilant and attention, the country is still dangerous», adding that «there are fears that Counting and manual counting will be an introduction to the re-election and encroachment on the votes of voters and thus will be the hand of the democratic process and will reduce the proportion of participation in the future ».
He stressed «the need for the people to realize that the electoral political process has occurred between AFCAC corrupt and those who seek power without right, and therefore must be aware of his order to distinguish between good and bad».
And I consider that «those decisions will not be the hand of the reform reform will prevail as it won the first time, so we hope that the counting and manual sorting is an introduction to return the top corrupt».
He concluded his statement by recommending in the «continuation of the work of ministries, especially services, so as not to harm the Iraqi people, must not be ignored the suffering of the people and engage in conflicts and political and electoral disputes related to counting and sorting and the like».

«A severe blow»

The leader of the «National» coalition, Vice President, Iyad Allawi, that the decisions of the Federal Court, addressed «a blow to the wills of corruption and forgery», expressing confidence in the ability to eliminate the correction of «deviation» witnessed by the electoral process.
He said in a statement: «We affirm full respect and commitment to the decisions of the Federal Court for the Third Amendment Law to the election law», pointing out that «these decisions dealt a severe blow to the wills of fraud and corruption».
He added: "Our confidence is high in our independent judiciary and independent professional management to correct the deviation of the electoral process, whether through manual counting and counting procedures or by considering the huge number of frauds that have occurred." He stressed the need to take legal action against the forgers and their protectors. The Iraqi Turkmen Front also welcomed the decision of the Iraqi judiciary and considered it a "victory" for the will of the Iraqi people.
"The Turkoman Front welcomes the decision of the Federal Court on the third amendment to the electoral law and considers it a victory for the will of the Iraqi people, which rejected the fraud in the elections of the House of Representatives, especially in the province of Kirkuk, which launched the popular revolution to expose the forgers" .
In the context of the reactions to the decision of the court also, Osama Abdul Aziz al-Nujaifi, Vice President of the President of the coalition «Iraqi decision», «fully support the decision of the Federal Supreme Court regarding the position of the third amendment to the election law issued by the House of Representatives and included in the decision of the Court to ensure the safety Legislative elections and their conformity with the provisions of the Constitution ».
He called for "tight control of the storage areas of all electoral funds in preparation for the checks to equate the will of the people and restore confidence in the political process and in order to protect the rights of legitimate political forces of manipulation or forgery as well as taking quick legal action against manipulators and counterfeiters."
He expressed the hope that «the decision of the Federal Supreme Court is a key building blocks to build confidence in the electoral process and a gateway to move towards the future at a pace confident».

No big change

According to legal expert Haider al-Sufi, the decision of the Federal Court will not lead to «a big change», adding: «may change in three to four seats within each block, but remains that the blocks that have forty to fifty seats can not form a government alone without forming alliance".
As for the legal expert Tariq al-Mamouri, he explained that «change if it happens after the manual counting, will be in the Sunni and Kurdish areas».
He pointed out that «counting and sorting by hand in a much more field for fraud of electronic counting, but we trust the judiciary more than the Commission».
"If the judges manage the process efficiently, I expect fraud to be reduced by a very large percentage."
"The vote of the outside will not change anything as it constitutes only 3 percent of the total votes," he said. "The counting and counting of the displaced people's voices, especially in the provinces of Anbar, Salah al-Din and Mosul, will change the results in a number of seats."
He continued: «In the Kurdistan region also, will lose the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan a lot, because it is the most beneficiaries of manipulation»
