Good afternoon Chuck and other members.  I don't post much but I like to know if TD Bank in America in Queens, NY is exchanging IQD. So, my husband and I went there last week and spoke to a representative. He said they exchange foreign currency but not IQD because they don't deal in countries that are unstable. They also do not have a de- la- ru machine or how however it is spelled. I had closed my Chase acct. years ago because I called them legal loan sharks. Supposedly, according to the rep the main bank in the city may be exchanging. TD says they will exchange the dong.  I don't trust Chase, BOA, WF or any of t6he big banks. Now, I don't know which one we will go to.  I had chosen TD bank years ago because of their good record.  According to the list of banks TD Canada will exchange so I naturally thought TD America would too.

3 May 2018  Bishop5977:  Bank Story from Irvine California

I was at a B of A today in Irvine Ca and asked a Merrill Edge advisor  which is a financial advisor did he know about the RV. He stated,”yes” he do. And he also said that their is a lot of movement going on with the international currency. Then he said,” do I have some?” I replied a lot. Then he said smart man. that’s it. This is the first time that a B of A member acknowledge to me about the RV.

Celebraterv:  I have been on this ride 7 years. I have never received any positive information from my bank of 25 years,Wells Fargo. I stopped in to do some banking! A personal banker approached to inquire if I needed help.
I asked him if he knew of upcoming currency revaluations. He told me that bankers are advised only to give out info to the public based on the "business need to know" regulations.
Everything can not be openly discussed because of liability to the banking industry.
He gave me the eye and said as an individual on the outside of the bank, he could discuss more freely! He indirectly let me know there was validity to the questions I was asking him!
Great young man-very astute about banking and a born again Christian who wanted to build orphanages in Africa.

Just got back from depositing a small check at WF drive though. I asked if they were exchanging foreign currency. The teller said that they do, that ALL of the tellers have received training. I asked how they verify the bills, and she indicated that they do not have a Delerue machine but have photos that come up on their screens to verify bills. The armored truck is still sitting in the parking lot of the old WF office bldg. Banks have to be ready and waiting. Come on RV!
Red:  I remember when you could hardly find a bank that would even admitt knoing about an RV now they will talk to you freely about training and memos, even through a drive in window, we have come a long way baby..
RDflyer12:  Guess we're still in the "Window of Opportunity".....hope the bankers and Iraq are sync'd up this time and will hit the "Hard Target Date" of completion......come on, RV!!

CosmoGirl:  Just had a call from my son who banks with Regions. He went in today to make a car payment. He has been paying a little over the payment amount every month so he ask to talk with a banker to see how much sooner he could pay off the loan if he increased the payment even more.
Once he sat down to talk with her she said she had seen him him several times and had heard him asking about currency. He said "yes" and she asked what he had; he told her he had Dinar and Dong.
She replied, "well what are you worried about.......you'll be paying this thing off pretty quick!" He was shocked and said "do you know what’s happening?" She replied, "Yes, just give it a couple of days and I'll be seeing you again".......she then ask if she could list his name and number to have their wealth mgr. call him at the appropriate time and he said "sure"!!
 He asked her if she had any currency and she got real quiet and said, "Yes, but not until recently because they've been telling us it was a scam until a few weeks ago." He left very happy and she walked him to the door saying, "See ya soon!"

here's another bank story...     5/27/2018  TNT: Contributed from a member...... A friend overextended while at the casino Saturday and needed some "get back home" money and decided to go to a bank and exchange some dong expecting to get approximately $39 - $45 for one million dong. The bank staff person said they could exchange the currency if they insisted, but informed them that they would be happier if they would wait until Tuesday (maybe even Monday) to exchange that currency. The friend decided to have someone send them some money via Western Union instead.
