Where's that GOI fool who predicted yesterday there would be 90% attendance ?? What a pathetic group. Being the official 'last' meeting before election mayhem and Ramadan, we can only hope we've seen the last of these idiots.

                                                                         :butt-kicking:

Are we expecting that this year is any different than the last ten? Election,Ramadan etc kick the can till its January and repeat

Thank you to the 120 that showed up. I can only hope that the deputies with terrible attendance will be canned. It’s how it works in the real world.  That’s going to show up on a resume with Integrity. Good luck with that.

I guess you've never studied attendance and vote records of OUR Congress....... LOL

That is a good point. So I checked several reports from The Atlantic and CNBC. Average Senate absent rate is 3%, average HOR absent is 4%. So slightly better than the Iraq HOR absent rate which, this year alone, was 47%. Whatever the Iraqi's have learned from us about democracy, they still can't grasp showing up for work. But most will probably run for re-election. Amazing.

When I worked in Kuwait during the war, it was very apparent the Kuwaiti Arab hired others mostly from India to do “ their work “ for them, run their businesses, construction work, office work and so on.

Perhaps the Iraqi Arab would consider hiring others to do the apparently  “ exhausting work “ of conducting the day to day Parliamentary business ? Maybe then we might have Quorums more than once in a Blue Moon. The possibility remains that the Hired Help might also be instructed NOT to attend: then sadly it’s all Bupkiss.

There are always alternatives, however, some might consider them a bit extreme. At this juncture, I’m willing to try extreme.

I agree!

On a serious note, just go ahead and vote without them, and when they dont like the outcome, too bad!  Shouda showed up, you coulda voted!!!  You only need to that once, and then they'll start showing up!

That is exactly how I feel about. :twothumbs:

Maybe they need to lower the quorum requirement down to 3 members. If the MPs thought that laws they don’t like could get passed with only 3 votes, perhaps that would persuade them to show up and vote .. 😜

I take the guy holding the door open, while having a coffee. It just PI$$$$ me off we are still messing around with these guys.
