said Baghdad Operations Command, Wednesday, for the re - opening of a number of main streets in the side of Karkh from the capital. 

The commander of operations, Major General Jalil al-Rubaie said in an interview with Alsumaria News that "was started this morning to reopen a number of important streets on the side of Karkh from the capital Baghdad," noting that "the movement of cars returned to normal in these streets."

 

 


Al-Rubaie added that "the reopening of Al-Sidiyya Street on the side of Al-Siddiq Mosque and the reopening of the street of the Information Police Station closed since 2007," pointing out that "the reopening of the Doctors Street in the neighborhood of Jihad." 

The Baghdad Operations Command has decided to lift several security controls deployed in the streets of the capital, in addition to the reopening of roads, which have been closed for years after the improvement of the security situation in Baghdad and to reduce traffic momentum on the streets of the capital.

A member of Baghdad's provincial council, Saad al-Mutlabi, announced on Wednesday the opening of more than 80 percent of the closed roads in the capital by the side of Karkh and Rusafa and the lifting of concrete barriers. 
"There are still about 20 percent of closed roads, although the council has called for the Baghdad operations to reopen all of them and to remove the concrete barriers except for the Green Zone," Mutlabi told Ashqaf News.

Green Zone more green fortified areas, and includes the headquarters of the government, parliament and most of the foreign embassies 
and added , "With respect to the traffic congestion it is because of the huge number of vehicles and checkpoints have been lifted 150 security checkpoint from Baghdad to alleviate those bottlenecks." 
The capital is witnessing an improvement in the security file, especially after the elimination of the Dahesh organization. 
The security leaders resorted to the closure of several main streets in a plan to control the security file, which witnessed a significant deterioration in the coming years.

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A member of Baghdad's provincial council, Saad al-Muttalibi, has announced the opening of more than 80 percent of the closed roads in the capital, Karkh and Rusafa, and the lifting of concrete barriers. 
Al-Mutlabi said in a press statement that there are still about 20 percent of the closed roads, although the council called for the Baghdad operations to reopen all of them and the lifting of the concrete barriers except for the Green Zone. 
"With regard to traffic congestion, because of the huge number of vehicles and checkpoints, 150 security checkpoints have been lifted from Baghdad to alleviate these bottlenecks." 
The capital is witnessing an improvement in the security file, especially after the elimination of the Dahesh organization.
