Pitcher
BRUSSELS, Belgium (Kurdistan 24) – EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini on Monday while speaking to Kurdistan 24 expressed concerns about Turkish forces and Syrian rebels controlling the Syrian Kurdish enclave of Afrin. “Sure, I am worried about it,” Mogherini said in response to a question asked by Kurdistan 24 Correspondent Barzan Hassan related to the fall of Afrin at the hands of Turkish forces and the Free Syrian Army (FSA). “We have stated from the beginning that military escalation and military activities not directly targeted against the Islamic State (IS) or Al-Nusra, UN-designated terrorist organizations, should be absolutely avoided,” Mogherini said. She mentioned that the EU would discuss the situation in Afrin with the Special UN envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura. She stressed that the main objective should be putting an end to the conflict in the country. “The common sense and common work were aiming at de-escalating military activities, not escalating them,” the EU official continued. “This was first and foremost the attempts of the three guarantors of Astana process, Turkey, Russia, and Iran started in Astana. We welcome that, and now are calling for coherence.” She mentioned that the three countries are expected to work on de-escalation zones and make sure that reality is reflected on the ground. On Sunday, Turkish forces and allied FSA fighters took control of the Kurdish city of Afrin, nearly two months since the military operation began on Jan. 20. http://www.iraqnow.news/articles/10246
Pitcher
This is very troubling to me. At a time when Iraq is trying to recover and rebuild Turkey appears to want more war and destabilization in the ME. Keep an eye on what Turkey does. We don’t need any more war in any part of Iraq in my opinion. https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/middle_east/after-afrin-victory-turkeys-president-vows-to-expand-military-operations-into-other-kurdish-held-areas-in-syria-iraq/2018/03/19/45abac66-2b7d-11e8-8dc9-3b51e028b845_story.html
MyLadiesDaddy
Never fear the Marines are here. And we're more than willing to show those turkeys in Turkey what happens when you mess with the best, they will die like all the rest.
Pitcher
Turkey needs to be booted from NATO. It appears their leader is turning Turkey into another non democratic country. Looks like the the mother of all wars is beginning to take shape in the ME.

It appears their leader is turning Turkey into another non democratic country. This could be an option. I am thinking Turkey being a part of NATO allows for influences towards Turkey AND allows options for NATO actions from Turkey that Turkey could not really inhibit or stop. Kinda puts Turkey in a bad way if they unilaterally do something NATO opposes AND takes action against Turkey from NATO Turkish bases. Just my thoughts, opinion, and Go Moola Nova!
