Oil Minister Jabbar Ali Hussein Al-Liibi, the US ambassador to Baghdad, met with Douglas Seleman and his accompanying delegation during the meeting to discuss means of boosting bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas sector.
The Minister stressed the importance of strengthening the relationship and developing it in all fields, especially in the oil and gas industry, calling on US oil companies to participate in investment projects in this sector as well as in the sectors of refineries and infrastructure and other projects.
For his part, the US ambassador in Baghdad, “Douglas Silliman,” the desire of his country’s companies to strengthen cooperation with Iraq at all levels, especially in the oil industry gas.

Research and Oil Minister Jabbar Luaibi on Monday, with representatives of the United States of America and Canada in Iraq, and director of the company "GE", ways to develop the oil and gas sectors and strengthen cooperation to expand investment projects in these sectors.
Al-Liibi "met with US Ambassador to Baghdad Douglas Silliman and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, they discussed means of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas sector," the ministry said in a press statement. 
Al-Luaibi stressed on the importance of strengthening the relationship and developing it in all fields, especially in the oil and gas industry. He called on US oil companies to participate in investment projects in this sector as well as in the sectors of refineries, infrastructure and other projects. 
For his part, Silliman stressed the desire of his country's companies to enhance joint cooperation with Iraq at all levels, especially in the oil and gas industry.
In a separate interview, the Minister of Oil, during his meeting with Charge d'Affaires of the Canadian Embassy to Iraq, Andrew Turner, presented several investment opportunities in various sectors of oil and gas, infrastructure, refineries, oil transmission lines and other projects. 
He noted that al-Allaibi, called "Canadian oil companies to participate in the competition for those projects." 
In turn, the Canadian charge d'affaires, the government's efforts to strengthen cooperation with Iraq and the desire of Canadian companies to enter into projects to develop the oil and gas sector in Iraq. 
In the same regard, the Minister of Oil during a meeting with the Director of the company "General Electric" in Iraq, Tawfiq al-Ezz and his delegation, the importance of investment gas associated with oil operations in the fields of the province of Dhi Qar, and convert the energy that burns and waste to useful energy adds large quantities of gas to National production.
He said Allaibi, according to the statement, "The plans of the ministry aims to cooperate with international companies to the prudent investment of gas associated with oil and stop burning, including the company (General Electric), which is implementing in Iraq a number of projects in the field of oil and energy." 
He added that "the ministry and the company are finalizing the contract for the investment of gas associated with the fields of Dhi Qar, which is hoped to conclude before the end of this month." 
He said that the contract "is one of the important contracts in terms of gas investment, and there are many contracts for gas investment in other provinces," stressing the "need to engage Iraqi companies and provide employment opportunities for workers, as well as the construction and construction of housing complexes for workers in the oil sector."
For his part, the company's director stressed that his company "is working in this direction and is continuing to complete all procedures to sign the contract in addition to the involvement in work Iraqi company with the project and the operation of Iraqi hands in the project and the rest of its other projects." 
He noted that his company seeks to develop joint work with the Ministry of Oil to achieve the upgrading of the oil and gas sector in Iraq.

Oil Minister Jabbar al-Luaibi on Monday presented Iraq's charge d'affaires to Iraq, Andrew Turner, with investment opportunities in the oil and gas sectors, infrastructure and transmission lines. 
The Oil Ministry said in a statement received by "Economy News" that the Minister of Oil "received the charge d'affaires of the Canadian Embassy to Iraq, Andrew Turner, and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of oil and gas." 
"The ministry has many investment opportunities in various sectors of oil and gas, infrastructure, refineries, oil transmission lines and other projects," the statement said, calling on Canadian oil companies to participate in the competition for those projects.

Mubasher : Iraq discussed with the representatives of the United States and Canada have the means to develop the oil and gas sectors and strengthen cooperation to expand investment projects in these sectors.

The Iraqi oil minister met on Monday with the US ambassador in Baghdad and his accompanying delegation and discussed  US participation in investment projects in this sector and in the sectors of refineries and infrastructure in the main sector in Iraq.

Jabbar al-Luaibi said in October last year that Chevron Corporation is one of the companies that have shown an interest in developing the Majnoon oil field in  Iraq after Shell's decision to withdraw from it .

Earlier this year, the US administration announced its intention to provide additional $ 75 million in funding to Iraq to help stabilize the country after it was freed from a sympathetic organization to confirm its continued financial support to Baghdad despite a reduction in the aid budget .

A statement by the Iraqi Oil Ministry, "a separate meeting between al-Allaibi and the charge d'affaires of the Embassy of Canada to Iraq, to discuss projects in the Iraqi oil and gas sectors, as well as networks of oil transmission lines .

For his part, the charge d'affaires of the Canadian Embassy in Baghdad, the government's efforts to strengthen cooperation with Iraq , and the desire of Canadian companies to enter into projects to develop the oil and gas sector in Iraq.

Al-Luaibi also received the director of General Electric Company in Iraq and his accompanying delegation. The meeting discussed the importance of investing gas associated with the oil operations in the fields of Dhi Qar governorate and how to benefit from the wasted energy.

Al-Luaibi said that Iraq supports the entry of the world's oil companies to the prudent gas investment gas associated with oil and stop burning, referring to projects, "General Electric" Iraq in the oil and gas.

In November, the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity signed a $ 400 million agreement with General Electric Power to set up and develop 14 secondary power plants in seven Iraqi provinces .

The Iraqi oil minister estimated the country needs about $ 4 billion for new investment in the downstream sector.

Iraq announced its intention to put the project Nasiriyah refinery in Dhi Qar, to invest BOT  or BOO , during the Kuwait donors conference for the " reconstruction of Iraq ."

Iraq is trying to turn most of Kirkuk's oilfield production into local refineries amid continued dispute with the Kurdish authorities over the use of the Kirkuk-Ceyhan oil pipeline .

And Iraq has reserves estimated at 137 trillion cubic feet of gas  is 70 % of the Iraqi gas companion gas to extract oil for processing, Iraq occupies the eleventh place among the nations of the world 's rich natural gas .

And Iraq 's oil minister said, in September last year, said that his country is seeking to stop the burning of gas by mid - 2021 , including maximizing the yields of the Federal Treasury for more than $ 6 billion annually .

The minister stressed the need to involve Iraqi companies in oil investments, and provide employment opportunities for Iraqi workers, as well as the construction and construction of housing complexes for workers in the oil sector.

"The oil minister met with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for the United Nations in Iraq, Jan Kubic," the oil ministry said in a statement received by the "Economy News", noting that "the two sides stressed the need to strengthen cooperation between Iraq and the United Nations mission." 
The statement said al-Luaibi praised "the efforts of the mission to support Iraq in various fields." 
And presented, according to the statement, the achievements of the ministry in addition to its future plans to develop the oil and gas sector. 
In his turn, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for the United Nations, Jan Kubic, stressed the support of Iraq in all areas, pointing to the mission's expectation that Iraq takes its natural role in the political and economic map.
On the other hand, Al-Luaibi met with the British Ambassador in Baghdad, John Wilkes, and his accompanying delegation. 
"The minister received the British ambassador in Baghdad, John Wilkes, and the delegation accompanying him. During the meeting, they discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the oil and gas sector," the ministry said in a statement. 
Al-Luaibi called for increasing the presence of British oil companies and their participation in investment in this sector as well as in the sectors of refineries and infrastructure, stressing the importance of strengthening the relationship and development in all fields, especially in the oil and gas industry. 
The British ambassador in Baghdad, John Wilkes, stressed the desire of his country's companies to enhance joint cooperation with Iraq at all levels, especially in the oil and gas industry.

The Iraqi Oil Ministry on Tuesday discussed with UN Special Representative to the United Nations Mission in Iraq Jan Kubic the means of joint cooperation. 
"The Minister of Oil Jabbar al-Luaibi met with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations Mission in Iraq, Jan Kubic, the means of joint cooperation," the ministry said in a statement. "Both sides stressed the need to strengthen joint cooperation between Iraq And the United Nations mission. "
Al-Luaibi praised the efforts of the mission to support Iraq in various fields, and reviewed the achievements of his ministry in addition to its future plans to develop the oil and gas sector. 
Jan Kubic, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations Mission in Iraq (UNMIK), said that "Iraq is ready to take on its natural role in the political and economic map."
