Well, we'll see if the next three parliamentary sessions gives any traction to the division of the oil and gas law into three segments. I suspect, as in times past, there will be delays, possibly numerous due to, well, whatever these monkey camel jockeys chasing cats all over the place come up with instead of staying on the track and playing by the rules to finish the scheduled race. The Kurdistan issue may be an issue. However, if the 2018 budget was passed with the Kurdish boycott of the Parliament, then these three segments of the original overall oil and gas law may get passed, too. May help having fewer Parliamentarians anyway while still making a quorum to prevent all the hassles rabble rousers would make like throwing filled plastic water bottles or sandals or something at each other while in session.

 

Another issue may be the debts owed to internal and foreign entities related to the oil and gas entities. If there is external pressure, there may be a tract to get the Iraqis to decide.

 

We'll see what the week bears out. If these three segments of the original oil and gas law get passed, then I suspect things will be looking really, really good since (I could be wrong) this is likely the HydroCarbon Law (HCL).
